We ran in quickly before a play. It was empty so service was fast. Summarized: Octopus appetizer — chewy, good flavor Tuna appetizer — eh. There were sundried tomatoes in it which were out of place and detracted from the dish. Mushroom risotto — delicious Happy Hour was $ 5 premium wells and $ 1 of drafts and wines

The food was amazing and the service is excellent. We really did have the sweetest and most attentive servers. The Gouda Blt was amazing but the mac and cheese is what really got us. Over all a pretty great experience; the atmosphere really brings it all together.

We went here on a Saturday after shopping. They have happy hour everyday from 4−7pm. $ 5 appetizers! There are four to choose from: pretzels, meatball, Mac and cheese, and jalapeño poppers. I tried all of them, the jalapeño poppers were good, but the meatball(you only get one for happy hour) and the Mac and cheese was cold so I had to send it back. Good service(not crowded at all), but it was just ok for lunch/happy hour

Poor service and cold atmosphere. I’m not sure what they’re bringing to the mall that wasn’t already there before. I’m not a fan.

Went on a Wednesday night with a friend & we sat outside. The server greeted us quickly & introduced himself, his name was Miguel. He let us know that it was half price bottles, so we ordered a bottle. He brought it out quickly, along with the appetizers we ordered. We ordered some sort of jerky and also the macaroni & cheese. Food a little bland but it was good. The atmosphere was great, we liked the music and the décor. Miguel was a fantastic server, very friendly and knowledgeable!

Exciting new location at international mall. We sat at the bar and had one beer each. A draft beer was $ 10, honestly not surprised because of the location. However not a place that I would make a destination in the future. $ 10 for a draft beer and Tampa is a little ridiculous.

Still cannot understand why this spot ceased being a Starbucks, as it was always packed and some of us know it was often the place you could find Derek Jeter just hanging out enjoying his coffee and how people in Tampa pretty much leave professional athletes alone. While I knew the olive oil store idea was doomed, putting a Taps in this spot seemed like a better idea… and then I read all the Unilocal reviews. Ouch. Still, we had just left The Pub, Doc B’s does not open for another six weeks, our girl Lindsey was not working at Bar Louie and I would not be caught dead in Blue Martini… so we figured one drink at Taps would not kill us. Our service was excellent from a polite young man named Parvez and my friend’s cosmo was«kickass.» The interior seems odd to me, and the bar has very limited seating. At least come 10pm there were actually some people in here since when I first walked by at 730pm, there were as many people inside as when it was that olive oil store. Not sure how Taps is going to do against Bar Louie and Blue Martini or if they will just feed off one another. Especially because Taps is expensive like those other places and obviously does not have the regular business that Louie and Martini have enjoyed from years of being anchor spots of Bay Street.

Arrived at International Plazza early for my meeting, so I stopped in for a drink. What a mistake! On a Thursday evening this place was a zoo. People everywhere, even out in the rain. I am no hypocrite, their were people of all ages, but there were many I would have carded. There was so much noise & confusion… too much drama! My drink of choice is seldom beer, the wine selection was dismal, a slap in the face to wine drinkers & a serious problem with the establishment! Instead of being able to sit back, relax & enjoy my vino, I just wanted to get the hell out of this circus! Did I mention it was LOUD, SCREAMINGLOUD&OBNOXIOUS, I should have kept walking. I understand the name is TAPS, not VINO, but seriously, whoever purchases the wine needs a lesson in wine or maybe the hops have just gone to their head. The wine was disquesting & undrinkable. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering an appetizer when I ordered the wine. After waiting 15 minutes for undrinkable wine, achieving a huge headache from the LOUD noise & confusion, people knocking into me every few seconds, after a long day, I didn’t need this & certainally did not need to abuse myself, when Tampa has so much to offer in GREAT wine & food. I kept myself sane & removed myself for the chaotic scene of TAPS. Yes, thankfully we still have choices & rights. Okay, I paid for wine I couldn’t drink & food I wasn’t going to wait on, but I kept my sanity, moved on & had a delightful evening somewhere else! What’s a girl to do? sanity wins over chaos & drama every time. No not my type of establishment, I won’t be back.

Went here a week after opening and sat at the bar. The large soft pretzel was tasty and the beer was cold. Service was good too. Second time in was today… not so good. We saw happy hour online with reduced drink and limited appetizers for $ 5. Not much room at the bar so they sat us in the main area. The happy hour was not displayed and our server actually tried to discourage it since it was only available in the bar area. He moved us to a high top table which caused a commotion between all of the severs. We got strange looks from one ‘overdressed’ server and it just felt strange. Our new server was friendly and improved us that the $ 5 appetizer list is not the same selection listed online. No menu, she just listed them off. It felt like they really don’t want you to know about this promotion. We ordered the Mac & Cheese and bacon which was AWESOME. the meatball was large enough to share and tasty. Overall a good deal if you know the secret password to get the menu. Looking over the main menu, it seems tasty, but prices are too high. $ 16 burger is probably the most expensive in Westshore.

I want to start off by saying I love taps downtown and was very excited to hear they were coming to international plaza. However, this location is slacking. I think they rushed their opening and went with a fly by the seat of their pants approach while opening as well. The food is okay at best and the menu is very small. I got a salad with goat cheese that had one small ball off to the side. The bartender was available and he seemed personable but he was just yelling loudly to the manager who was sitting right there about football the entire time. No one asked us how our experience was and frankly from what I saw and what I’ve heard the owners and management could care less about their guests. The place is pretty and the beer selection is good but that’s about it.

Disappointing. To start the SHORT wine menu needs work. I ordered the Oregon Pinot Noir and it tasted like water. The service is slow. I asked to taste two more wines before deciding again and they came in shot glasses 10 to 15 minutes later. I decided on the Cabernet Freakshow. I am usually a Pinot drinker but there was only one left to choose from and I didn’t want to risk it. Moving on to dinner I tried the BLT with Gouda. It comes with a side salad and everybody who had it at the table our greens were overdressed and tasted like vinegar. My $ 13BLT look like something off of a kids menu. I could not taste the Gouda. The bread was yummy and tasted great(but doesn’t everything that is grilled with butter) but definitely not worth the money. Then came dessert. I ordered the bread pudding for the table and it was dry, overcooked and a little burned. So I walked out of there with a BLT, a glass of wine, and a bad desert for $ 45. Awesome.

Taps would have gotten a 1 star had it not been for our sweet server. I want to start with the good. Our server was such a sweetheart and very personable. She was quick with our beers and the beers were cold and refreshing. Onto the bad… the food was such a let down. I ordered the Irish nachos with braised short ribs. Fingerling potatoes topped with house made gouda cheese, braised short ribs, sour cream, tomatoes, and green onions. Sounds amazing right? I wish I had taken a picture because it was so disappointing. 6 small fingerling potatoes completely smothered in a cheese glob with a small portion of shredded beef, and a sprinkling of tomatoes and green onions. $ 14… I couldn’t believe it. Ridiculously small(think 4 inch diameter size) and the quality was poor. The trio of short rib tacos were okay, but my husband got pretty ill a few hours after eating them. We ordered the same beer and I didn’t have any of his tacos, so through deduction, something wasn’t fresh in the tacos. Will we return? No way Jose.

I have been waiting to write this review for days now, I went here with a large group of people last Saturday, at least 15 of us. It took an hour for me and others to receive our first drink, after they gave mine away to someone else. I ordered 3 of the same drinks that night all 3 tasted completely different. Not worth $ 12 a drink. Then it was time to order food. I ordered the octopus… It was the worst I’ve ever had, it was so chewy I could hardly swallow, I literally choked on $ 16 octopus… The service was horrible, the food was horrendous and the drinks were inconsistent. All 3 waitresses that we had were bad, so unprofessional. Myself, and the large group of people I went with were not impressed what so ever. I could have made all of our drinks faster than I got my first one. I will never go back there and I don’t recommend it to anyone!!!

I had a good dining experience here! Service was great. Everyone had smiles on their faces except for the manager. He came by other tables to greet them but not ours. Which was kinda rude because he looked over at us but never came by. Recently opened in the international Bay Street plaza, I feel that this place will be a very happening spot. I came here with a friend during happy hour and had their HH specials on appetizers and drinks. I ordered the Wagyu Burger as an entrée and it was simply delicious! The beef was tender and moist. Freshly made crispy fries came along side the burger as well. The chicken drums are a definitely just try! Sweet apricot BBQ!

This review is for the service, drinks and atmosphere. We had a great time hanging out at this new bar on Bay Street at International Plaza. The atmosphere was great and the drinks were good, too. Not only do they have a lot of beer, they also have a full bar. Last night they had a dj spinning and sports on tvs. They definitely have something for everyone. Make sure you ask for the taps menu.
