This review is tough for me to write. I very rarely give 1 star reviews(see my review distribution), but I had a truly poor experience at The Franklin. My friends and I came in on Friday night around 8:30. We were quickly served drinks and the sangria was quite nice! We ordered a charcuterie to start. The charcuterie was good, although I wasn’t a huge fan of the salami. This is where the good experience stopped. My husband wanted the filet tips and I wanted the mac n cheese and they were out of both. Instead, my husband got a pizza and I went for the nachos. Friends got a pizza and the tuna stack. The 2 pizzas and the tuna stack arrived a long time before my nachos. The pizzas were very soggy and not very good. The tuna stack was pretty good, though. When my nachos finally came out they were cold. I’m talking cold queso. I knew that I couldn’t eat them so my husband brought them back to the counter. After the nacho incident, no one came back to our table. No «I’m sorry your nachos were cold» or «Do you want something else». Nothing. My husband finally went up and got the bill(we asked for the nachos to be comped since I didn’t eat them) and paid. I mean, really, had someone just came and apologized or tried to get me something else, I would have been ok. Cold food and lacking service means I probably will not be back to The Franklin.

The Franklin atmosphere and restaurant was really hip and trendy. When we arrived for dinner there was live music in the front of the restaurant. I was surprised at the small menu and even more surprised when 2 out of the 6 entries was not available that evening. We started with a pitcher of sangria and a charcuterie platter, both were very tasty. We were the only people sitting at tables at the restaurant and it seemed like time came to a complete stop for the amount of time it took for the entrees to come out. I order the Ahi Tuna Stack that came with brown rice, avocado and tuna topped with a spicy mayo. The dish was pretty good and had a good spicy level. My friends who I dined with did not experience the same with their meals and were served ice cold nachos and soggy pizza. Overall I don’t know if I would come back to this restaurant. The restaurant was warm to the point where I felt like I was sweating and I think it’s ridiculous the amount of time it took to get our orders. In addition, I think its complete unacceptable that a manager didn’t come to our table to apologize for the sent back food that evening. It was almost like our waitress hid from us once we sent back a dish. If the service would have been better I would have been open to giving this place a second chance.
