Just another franchise. The food is okay. Not really my type of place. But don’t mind stopping if want something quick.

I have been here numerous times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Numerous specials, tasty meals, and a fun hot sauce bar make this place a go-to spot for me and my family.

My colleagues and I were short on time and decided to try this place for lunch. We arrived a little bit before noon, which was good because the wait was not bad. The young lady taking our order at the counter was pleasant and competent. Once our orders were in, we took a seat and waited for the food to be delivered to our table. It took painfully long for our food to arrive. Waiting normally isn’t a big deal, because half of eating out is enjoying conversation, but we were in a rush, so we really noticed how long it took. The food finally arrived, it was fresh and very good. I really enjoy the sauce bar, and tried several different sauces with my nachos. All in all this is a decent place for lunch. Good food, not too pricey, nice environment, and a pleasant staff.

5 stars because it’s great for what it’s supposed to be, a casual and quick dining spot. Great customer service, great food, and clean. I really love this place, and their chimichangas are awesome. Not to mention their great prices!

Since Unilocal has become so critical, I really just want to begin my review by saying the efficiency and service here is not the problem. The employees that work here as for as I know are more then fine, however it’s the quality and bizarre atmosphere at Tijuana Flats that has me absolutely puzzled this place is a four star«Tex Mex» place. No way over my dead body. I have been here three times. All three times I had an awkward experience. I rarely even use that word socially, but beginning with the menu– There isn’t one item that sticks out as a seller. Since it’s a fast casual category, I of course didn’t know what to get each time. The quesadilla = probably the worst I ever had. Those are my favorites, Qudoba Mexican grill’s is literally 10x better. Awful taste in my mouth from it. Tacos. Just ah: whatever. The hot sauce bar. Might be the strangest thing I have ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. The tastes? All the same. Too many spices that aren’t even authentic(vinegar for example) that just turns me off. Taste was way off. Too many options? Yeah. This is just the icing on the cake. I love hot sauce but literally what? Okay, so I am not Mr. Politically correct, but the names of the sauces have cuss words on the labels. I mean I don’t really care but I just honestly genuinely do not suggest going here, unless you want to keep eating the average food in your life and put money down the toilet.

Wow. We went in for a quick bite and were blown away by how great the staff was. The food was good as well but the staff is the reason we will be going back. Shout out to the girl in yellow shorts, didnt get her name but she was on point!

I could probably live off of Tijuana flats alone. Their ingredients are fresh, the guacamole, queso, and salsa are SO good. I usually get chicken enchiladas or quesadillas. Or a norita bowl. And their Tijuana Red beer pairs nicely with the cuisine. Just yum.

Tijuana Flats is a chain. As far as chains go, it’s pretty good. They make some of the best tacos. Bigger than the usual suspects. Tijuana Flats claim to fame is their hot sauce bar. They have hot sauces ranging from sweet chili to toxic emergency room hot. I go for the sweet stuff. I’m a pansy. Besides tacos they have the usual Tex Mex fare. Huge taco salads, burritos, quesadillas, chimis, the works. I’ve tried most of their menu. The Mega Juana burrito has double the meat and cheese. It is very aptly named. These days I stick with three tacos. Chicken. Steak. Carnitas. The carnitas are pretty tasty. Pulled pork basically. You can order your tacos«power lite» and they’ll include some low fat cheese and sour cream. I guess like Taco Bells fresco menu. But several notches above Taco Bell. And Taco Bus. I’d say this place is best quality tacos in Tampa. iMHO.

I will never tip again here. It’s already getting ridiculous with these fast casual places that ask for a tip. Here, I gave a generous $ 3 tip to my $ 10 order. It took an unreasonable amount of time to get my food, when I did, I realized I got chips and didn’t have any salsa. So, I asked the young girl who delivered my food for a small side of salsa. She made me go back to the register to pay .99 cents for it. I doubt I’ll go back here as there are better Tex-mex places around, if I do I won’t be tipping in the event I need that cash later to get my small cup of salsa or other trivial item I may need.

A good location in South Tampa. Visited with a friend and shared a few dishes, since there was so much to choose from and I wanted them all. We started with the Tijuana Trio, a good starter to share. Chips with salsa, queso and guacamole which was delicious. Followed with beef and chicken flautas. Guarantee you wont leave hungry after eating the meaty Bangin Chicken, my favorite and large enough to share. Each dish was flavorful, but they offer an array of sauces. Pet friendly patio. They offer a great happy hour. The staff were friendly. Management was there and greeted our table. I will be back!

10.50 for a burrito smaller than ones at taco bell?! The food lacked taste, the side of beans and rice were extremely small. Chips are good but thats about it. Over priced, small food portions and bland. Not coming back.

Taco Tuesdays. Enough said. Just down the street from my office, Tijuana Flats is the popular Taco Tuesday spot. Not my favorite because parking is challenging at lunch because of nearby construction and during the summer the restaurant is very warm. Besides that, the food is good. I enjoy both the beef tacos and chimichunga. The tacos are a good size so I’m pretty content with just one. Because of the large portions, a coworker and I have actually opted to share a Taco Tuesday special, assuming the portions would be enough although we actually received a handful of chips. No exaggeration, we probably received less than 10 chips. Now I’ve been there before and ordered the special and received a bag full of chips so unfortunately consistency is not always the case. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but we paid a premium for the side of chips, not 10, and for a-ok food. Their saving grace is definitely the hot sauce bar though. A variety to choose from and a clever«smiley» face system to help you gauge your level of hotness. Ok, maybe it’s the people too because the staff is friendly and comes around to fill up your drinks when needed… oh and let’s not forget the very best thing about Tijuana Flats. Their crushed ice. Yes, sorry hot sauce bar. The ice is the best thing there.

First of all, the place is awesome, love the concept. 2nd, the prices are pretty low, so that’s good! The service is really fast and the employees are friendly. The food was good. The place is good for a lunch break.

This is one of those in between casual eatery restaurants where you stand in line to place your order and they bring you your meal. This place does not offer full service but does have alcohol. They lose major points because they do not give salsa with their chips. They do sell it for a $ 1 upcharge but I have tried it before and it’s too bland. They do have a complimentary gimmicky hot sauce bar. The hot sauce bar with 12 sauces has only 1 sauce I can tolerate, the«Spank my a** and call me Sally» sauce which is a sweet chili which is okay but too sweet for anything other than for small doses. I’d much rather have a regular hot sauce and a better salsa. All their hot sauces taste funky and weird. I ended up having too much different kind of sauces combined with the queso cheese sauce and it made me sick. Queso cheese sauce is $ 2 and way too thick and over-seasoned. The steak tacos were very bland so they needed a decent sauce, but couldn’t get one here. Tuesday’s you can get 2 tacos chips and a drink for $ 5.50, normally they’re $ 6.60 without a drink. I got 2 steak tacos for $ 7 with chips and took the extra $ 2 charge for queso cheese. However, green lemon and lime have this deal beat! I much prefer going to the Lime or Moes that gives bigger portions, free salsa, and marinate their meats better. For a full service legit sit down restaurant in Soho, I prefer the Green lemon which has $ 2 tacos on Taco Tuesday’s and has better quality ingredients like Ahi tuna and marinated steak. There is parking available on the right side of the building. Located on Platt in South Tampa next to the hideaway and Hyde Park café. Featuring pretty cool wall art.

I was given a dirty Styrofoam cup that also was torn across the top. Then I found 2 hairs in my food. Eww. My refried bean flautas had a wierd texture. It felt like I was chewing on beef fat. On top of that, there was way too much cheese. Don’t get me wrong, I am a cheese fanatic, but I could barely find my refried beans. The only positive was that the employees constantly asked«How is everything?» which means that they were able to readily correct any mistakes. I normally love Tijuana Flatts, but definetly not this location. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Service was beyond excellent. We were promptly served upon ordering, chips and trio of dips were delish. I ordered two beef tacos and CK ordered a pork quesadilla. Both were great and came out fresh and hot. At least three managers stopped by to see if all was ok. Fabulous and hospitable staff who were so courteous and so welcoming. Will be back!

Love love love this place. It happens to be one of my favorites. I am so glad that they opened this in South Tampa. I’m a big fan of the chicken tacos in either soft or hard shell. I love the option of low fat cheese and sour cream(power lite). I also love adding beans and rice or salsa as well. They also have daily specials. The service is always great and my food comes out quickly. The parking can be tricky but after the businesses close you can use another lot. There is a nice patio to sit on as well and enjoy your meal. I will continue to visit this place and I need to venture out and try other menu items.

Welcome back to South Tampa! TJ has great specials scattered about the week(Taco Tuesdays! Whoot) and provides a nice, satisfying Mexican menu with twists that make Tijuana it’s own– see«make it wet»(queso added) and«power lite»(fat free cheese, sour cream). Servers come around to refill drinks, drop off food, check in you after your initial order at the counter. I love their hot sauce options & if could drink their salsa, fresh and good. Outside patio option, plenty of parking, pet friendly. Thanks for coming back to SoHo!

I can’t get enough of Tijuana. So many vegetarian options. I love that you can get every item on the menu vegetarian with either refried or black beans. I also enjoy that they offer wheat or flour tortillas and power«lite» cheese and sour cream. They have specials on Tuesday and Thursday which basically gives you a free soda. The patio is dog friendly and they always offer my dog a water dish. The food is my favorite and the servers are super friendly and always ready to get you a refill. There is one men and women’s bathroom which is not usually a problem except they are located behind the line so if it is busy it is hard to get to. While the parking is unusual there is still plenty of parking if you take a short walk. My only real complaint about this location is the acoustics make it difficult to talk when it’s busy.
