When it comes to dressing elegant, rustic, classy, and high quality, this is pretty much my go-to place in Tampa. The TB store in Tampa is deceptively BIG – which means LOTS of choices: clothes, shoes, jewels, nick-nacks, oddities, etc. etc. etc. If Tommy Bahama sells it, then this store likely carries it. Walk in and immediately smell the unique flavor that seems to blend something woodsy, peppery, and natural. It’s an amazing scent! Service is average at best. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on a single visit, and I suspect that the employees aren’t commissioned, because they’re never really excited about greeting or helping. They seem to be all-business – kind of stuffy, even – albeit without arrogance. In the middle of one of my high-dollar shopping sprees I asked to use their restroom and they resisted – until I wished them a good day and headed for the exit. Then they magically got the OK for me to do my business. LOL. The bathroom/back office is small, cramped, and grungy-looking – very disappointing in my opinion. Kind of felt like a deception to me – and I kind of understand why the employee morale seems broken. They’re probably paid minimally and dislike the snobbishness of some of the patrons. If you’re going to spend a lot, ask to speak to the manager – her name is Tina and she’s receptive, professional, and, once you get to know her, chatty. I’ve negotiated deals with her at an extra percentage discount, but beware: Tina is a tough negotiator!
