Unk’s brings back that sweet hickory flavor of my home town of Memphis, TN that I’ve been missing since I’ve moved to Tampa. They also cook cabbage like a soul food genius! Unk’s is southern bbq and soul food at its best! Do not miss this treat. I bought as much food as I could carry. I will no doubt be back. If I had money to invest, I would! These guys need a real place to cook & serve. I was treated like royalty. They are experts at bbq & soul food in my opinion. Growing up eating in a city like Memphis, TN, I consider myself an expert.

This is some serious barbecue where you wouldn’t expect it. Unk came into our office to introduce himself a few weeks ago and I don’t know what took us so long to go over there but I’m really glad we did.
The ribs were the right amount of tender and juicy. But the thing that really set this place apart from the other barbecue places in town was the flavor. I live for good smoked meats (Yep, I have no life) and I judge a barbecue place almost solely icon how well they smoke their meats, and this place takes the cake. One of the girls in the office even went to the ATM for cash after tasting our food.
Unk is friendly and eager so customer service is outstanding and he even sent us away with more than what we ordered. He will begin accepting credit cards in a week or so.
I’m a huge fan of hole-​in-​the-​wall places that you might pass up because they aren’t ‘fancy’. Unk’s outdoor space is easy to overlook, but what a shame it would be if you did.
