Wayl’s Fresh Cafe

Trying to find a your own little spot in Downtown Tampa? Try Wayl’s for some freshly-​made, cheap, and scrumptious meals! Since I’ve been at the Health Department, Wayl’s has become a staple with my staff. Everyone’s always talking about this café and always bringing back mountains of food back to their desk. I finally got to try this place a few days ago and yup. it lived up to its name.
If you get there a little before noon, you should be fine. If you get there right at noon and lunch time, it’s probably going to be a wait, but trust me, it’s worth it. Wayl’s has a variety of different options on their menu. From their hot plates to sandwiches to even a full-​sized salad bar, there’s something for everyone. Wayl’s prides itself on using fresh ingredients and making the food on-​the-​spot. You can’t get much better than this.
On the Friday I went, I got the stuffed fish with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The stuffed fish was divine. Perfectly cooked and stuffed with an assortment of other seafood. The entire fish was then drenched in this sauce that complimented the dish so nicely. The broccoli was steamed and no real complaints (pretty hard to mess up steamed veggies). And lastly, the mashed potatoes paired nicely with the extra sauce from the fish. All of this, of course, literally just melts in your mouth. The good part is that this is pretty filling and can probably feed two people. I’m a pretty big eater and this filled me up pretty nicely. And for the price tag… everything is decently priced as well. I got an entire plate of food for around $ 9.
tl;dr — Good food, good people, and good price. Can’t go wrong here.

Wayl’s has become my go to place for lunch. Everything I have had there has been fresh and tasty. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The fact they do breakfast all day is the cherry on top. ALways an enjoyable experience when I visit.

So happy we stopped in here after leaving the courthouse. Great people and the restaurant is set up beautiful. They also had vegan options, yes options more than one, with homemade hummus! Stop in and try it out so many different options, but I always listen to what the cook suggests and I’m glad I did! Food was incredibly delicious.

This place is delicious!!! The inside of the café is very modern. The food tastes great and the workers are super friendly!!! The orange juice tastes fresh squeezed!

Their home cooked hot meals are great and priced well ($ 8.50 after tax). Everything is fresh and natural. The restaurant is super clean and everyone is friendly. Without question one of the best lunch options downtown.

This place has it all: home-​cooked favorites, awesome sandwiches, a great salad bar. And it’s all natural, fresh, and reasonably priced! Love Wayl’s!

I’ve been to Wayl’s a couple times for lunch. The food is fresh (no preservatives/​additives) and tasty. Prices are good. The service is very friendly. The place is clean. The menu has a wide variety of options. (Today I had the meatloaf special, two sides for about $ 8). Breakfast served all day. Not much else to say that hasn’t been said already. Nice place to eat downtown (next to Yeoman’s Cask & Lion).

This place has never once disappointed. Working in downtown the options get old really fast. This place is a gem amongst cafes who have forgotten what fresh and real food looks and tastes like. They obviously care about the taste and sourcing of their food here, it is evident in every meal. They have a sandwich board and daily hot entrees. It’s amazing to find a home cooked hot meal of these proportions under $ 10. And as if it couldn’t get any better they recently added a glamorous salad bar. Will keep coming back.

Great food — friendly staff. A hidden gem! The daily specials are all delicious as are the sandwiches, wraps and salad bar. You will not be disappointed.

Great place for lunch in downtown Tampa. I’ve eaten here a few times before and I’ve never had a bad sandwich. Haven’t tried the hot meals but I’m sure they are good as well.

The food is exceptional. Fresh fresh fresh interesting and delicious every time. They offer specials sandwich hot meals salads. They give 10% off next visit. Better than anything close by. Try this place

Nice and clean and bright inside, friendly efficient staff. And the roast pork sandwich was out of this world. I’ll be back to try the hot meals soon, so glad to have found this little hidden gem.

First time here. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and they play great music. Comfortable atmosphere. They have complimentary lime flavored water. I had the chicken tex mex wrap and a cup of chili. Portions are adequate for a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend to others. Five stars

Wayl of Time did our catering for our wedding and it was beyond spectacular! Everything was perfect, and perfectly delicious. Guests still talk about how amazing the food was at the wedding. As you would expect, there are always «things» that pop up come wedding day but I can assure you that the catering and everything that came with it, the service, drinks, and organization was the one thing that went flawlessly. And trust me, if you want anything to be flawless on wedding day besides your dress, it’s the food!
You cannot go with a better company for any catering need. Not only are they the best, but Irene (the head honcho and your new best friend) is the most wonderful woman you will ever meet and she works very hard to meet your budget goals and needs.
Rest assured that choosing Wayl of Time will be the best decision you make for that day, they will not let you down. This is the truth from the bride. (And trust me, I had my fair share of blood suckers … Our photographer decided to drop off the face of the planet before he delivered our photos). Wayl of a time is one of the gems.
