I had not been here in a while, but I was happy as usual. I ordered the grilled veggie salad and salmon on top. It was perfect portion and loved the way the veggies were cooked, For dessert, we had chocolate chip cookie with fudge in the middle and ice cream on top. I am not usually a dessert person, but it was really good. I do think chocolate is my favorite type of dessert so chocoholic desserts are right for me. I would definitely come back again.

Slowest service ever! Never good on a Sunday. Mussels were totally different than the first time when they were exceptional. They need to get more consistent all the way around.

I have been coming to the Wine Exchange on and off for over a decade and have never been disappointed. The food is always among the very best you can get almost anywhere in the country — correctly prepared, average sized portions and delicious. The management always has seemed to have hired good staff as well and it shows. I will always keep a place on my calendar for a date at the Wine Exchange! Kudos!

The poorest service ever. We just left after waiting 45 minutes for our entrees. There was not an apology or even an apologetic tone from our server. I’ve never left a 10% tip, but this place deserved it.

I’m back! I seem to recall this was the first restaurant I ate at when I moved to Tampa. Nice to be able to sit outside now that the weather’s getting more hospitable. They have a really side selection of options for lunch.

I wasn’t very impressed with Athenian pizza I had at here. It was extremely cheesy and not very flavorful as I had hoped when I read about it in the menu. I’m sure the other food on the menu is better. But I’m just making this review based on the pizza. The service was pretty ok, not spectacular. I’ll probably be back here again just to see something else on the menu and reevaluate this place. But for now I would give them 3 stars because for the price of the food, I was expecting higher quality.

LOL, what can I say, I love wine. The quaint er & quieter the place, the more I seem to respect it. The wine offerings are awesome & I was totally tantalize & inspired by their offerings. I have never had a meal here, so I can not speak to that. I have had wine & cheese & been quite happy with 2 of my major food groups. Not crazy about the parking, but that has nothing to do with the establishment. I like the establishment, feel comfortable and at ease. I will be back for more vino & possibly dinner the next time. I do love wine & cheese for dinner, but at times, you need something more substantial. What’s a girl to do? come back, relax, have vino & try dinner!

I was really impressed with my lunch experience today. This place reached its max potential today! Started with some complimentary bread. It was warm, the inside was soft and the crust had a crunch to it. The seasoned oil complimented the bread nicely. Then, we had the Cheddar Potato Croquettes. They were really good, with a slightly spicy dipping sauce, an excellent blend of flavors. My lunch entrée was the blackened grouper sandwich special. There were several healthy options for sides, but I chose fries. The grouper was as fresh as I’ve ever had. The seasoning was perfect, and the toppings were all fresh and delicious. This sandwich was amazing! I could eat one every day! We choose to sit outside on the patio because we had our dog with us. It was hot out, but the misting fans made our experience comfortable. It’s a really nice area to have patio seating. I did a walkthrough, and the inside is modern & very clean. The service was top notch! From the gentleman seating us, to the two people bringing water to my golden retriever, to our excellent server, this place knows how to make customers feel welcome. Overall, a great experience! Very comfortable and friendly place to have lunch. The menu is diverse & reasonably priced(for lunch, not sure about dinner). Food is outstanding, and atmosphere is very nice!

If i could have given a 3.5 rating I would — but I felt like rounding up to a 4 was a more accurate reflection of the experiences I’ve had at Wine Exchange. The Service: More often than not, I am pleased with the service at Wine Exchange(wait time is usually low, food arrives promptly, rarely a rude server), but I have felt like the server just did not want to be a server on several evenings. I am lactose intolerant and also try to gravitate towards gluten-free meals(I know these restrictions are a pain in the neck and I really feel terrible every time I have to inquire about the menu items being gluten free), and the server was obviously not in the mood to cater to my needs. He basically told me he couldn’t give me any information on the gluten status of any of the items on the menu(note — I’d had this server at wine exchange several times over the last 5 years, and I know I wasn’t the first to ask about gluten). I felt kinda dumb and embarrassed so I ended up ordering a salad that night. Bummer. The Food: hasn’t disappointed me yet. I’ve tried many menu items over the years. One appetizer dish we always go back to is the Baked Brie served with fruit and crostini. Generous portions and great for 4 people to share. I also LOVE the Cuban salad — think a deconstructed Cuban sandwich over iceberg lettuce. Swiss, ham, tomato, and some green olives for good measure. The grilled veggie salad is also on point — I give both salads a 4.5 star rating. As far as pizza goes, I’ve only tasted the Athenian, and it was good(not great). Wine Exchange typically has a decent specials menu, and I tend to order whatever seafood dish is featured that day. Portions are generous, and fish is always fresh. My husband has also enjoyed the Penne For Your Thoughts(penne with shrimp scallops asparagus etc in a rich lemon butter sauce) a few times. The bread they serve is probably my fav. Restaurant bread in the area. If they don’t bring it, make sure you ask for it!

Though in an Upscale aloof kinda shopping mall, the staff and customers were fun. Please see pics and make fun on wine guy Somalia. Chocolate bomb is excellent.

Great wines, tasty food, modern atmosphere. Wine Exchange has all of the elements that I look for in a restaurant. I have dined at Wine Exchange several times throughout my years in Tampa. Every time I come in, I am happy to see their extensive wine selection. They have something for everyone and do offer beer and liquor, as well. Every time I have eaten at Wine Exchange I have enjoyed the food. On my most recent trip, my husband and I split a cheese plate. The cheeses and fruits were so fresh and tasty. It paired really nicely with the wines. Definitely a nice place to have drinks and food in the Hyde Park Village area!

So I’ve lived in the Tampa«area» my whole life and I never knew that this cute little area existed. This will be my new go to! So we stopped in for lunch yesterday and had a very pleasant experience. They had some nice interesting beers on tap and their wine list was great. I had 2 glasses of $ 9.00 chardonnay that was exceptional. We share 2 appetizers the shrimp with risotto and the mussels. Both were fantastic and we were impressed. The ambiance inside is wonderful and we ate on the patio as it was a beautiful Fl afternoon and really enjoyed it. To be honest there wasn’t a part of my experience I wasn’t happy with which is why I gave them 5 stars.

Great place to sip on some wine and sample cheeses on a nice patio in Hyde Park Village. The bar inside is also inviting, but you can’t beat the quaint city-like feel of dining along the shops and sidewalk this restaurant offers. That real estate can’t be cheap and it’s reflected on the menu. I’m always a bit surprised by the bill at the end of the meal then justify the price by the location. We’ve tried a variety of menu items and always go back to the cheese plate and red wines. They have an excellent selection of wines with hilarious and very accurate descriptions on the menu. Take a look for yourself. :)

This restaurant may be the lowest cost dinner in Hyde Park for delicates restaurant such as Piguant, Boca, and Timpano. The setting of the restaurant is very nice that you can have variety of wine by glass. Tonight we begin with a pound of mussel. It serves with spicy coconut herb broth. The broth is a bit spicy compare to normal mussel in butter garlic wine sauce. I actually like their spicy herb sauce over the butter garlic wine sauce. The mussel is great. The appetizer also comes with two garlic cheese bread. It is yummy to dip into the sauce and eat it with the soak bread. Now you are feeling hungry to try it tomorrow. The entrees are the 12 oz NY strip and duck breast. Both dish meat come out with warm temperatures. They can improve this issue for the accompany side dish. Seem like they are waiting for the side dish to finish and they have not put the meat in the heat lamp to keep it hot. The NY strip comes correctly with the way I have order it. I think they need to heat up the grill with higher BTU grill will make this dish better with slightly burn. The duck is a bit fat under the skin. Overall the meat is well season. The side dish is actually better than the main dish. The stir fry mix veggie is flavorful. Overall the dishes are well prepared except they need to keep up the temperature of the meat. Base on the above experience, this restaurant is grade correctly with 3.5 stars. Since Unilocal doesn’t have the half star, I am given them 4 stars. Service is great. Interior is great.

Meh. I’ve been here before and had a good experience. It could be much better. Wine list by the glass is fine. Didn’t have what I wanted and the waitress was great about it. She offered me a nicer selection at the same price. There were some items just white-ed out which was cheesy. Speaking of cheese, no cheese plates during lunch hour. I suppose I get it but it’s a wine bar and we were stopping for a snack. Seems odd not to have the cheese prepped at a wine bar. They brought bread — olive oil is lackluster. Bread meh. We had potstickers as a snack and they were mushy. Not browned off. Not good. Best part of the whole experience was the service. Still, can’t give more than two stars. Just not worth the $ 40 we spent.

I always love to eat at the Wine Exchange. Today I was there for an anniversary with my run group! I had the French champagne which was delish. I also ordered the crab cake salad with grilled shrimp. The salad was large and I didn’t think I could order eat it all. The salad was so scrumptious it was seasoned well with so many textures. The salad had jalapeños, peppers lettuce, bell paper. The grilled shrimp was skewered on a stick and the crab cake was seasoned well. The presentation was just as tantalizing. The service was great. We were a group of 50 and they did an awesome job!

This was my first visit, and it was overall very good. First, it has a great location in Hyde Park Village. The restaurant has nice décor, and has indoor, bar, and outside seating. It offers a lot of wine choices, and I tried a rozay, which was good. I ordered the seafood pasta with alfredo sauce. I liked that it had large scallops and shrimp. There is also the option to get it with marinara sauce. The only thing I could have done without was so much sauce, but I am not someone that likes a lot of sauce. I was there with several vegetarians and a vegan, and they had options, such as gnocchi, salad, and hummus. Two people ordered the gnocchi, which they enjoyed. We also loved the bread and olive oil dip that is served while you wait for your food. The only downside was that our waitress got a bit snippy with us, because we were having a long birthday lunch, but that is her job and she should keep any unhappiness to herself. Also, be prepared for high prices. I think I would go there again, and maybe try a different wine and entrée.

The atmosphere is nice and there is a large window seating area right across the bar which I’m sure is nice for people watching. We sat in the patio area in the back & it was a pleasant spot. The food and the service not so much. Our waiter had more opinions to share with us than we appreciated. Frankly I don’t necessarily want your smarty pants opinion on girl talk we are having. I didn’t find this professional. On top of that he was terrible as far as taking our orders and checking on us as we would run out of drinks etc. The food was just ok. Honestly it was a hair above chain restaurants like Applebee’s or Chillis! I ordered mussels and a salad with grilled chicken. I’ve had better mussels and the salad was ok, didn’t generate much interest for me. This restaurant has it’s location in the heart of the village going for it & that’s about it.

I have to bump Wine Exchange to a four based on the experience I had there tonight. Since I was kind of full from a pretty big lunch, my boyfriend and I decided to just split some appetizers. We took a look at the specials menu and decided on the portobello mushroom appetizer as well as the filet tips and the cheese plate. The portobello appetizer was really good! It had melted cheese, zucchini and peppers and the mushroom itself was really flavorful. The filet tips were excellent. The meat was very tender and the sauce with the sundried tomatoes was to die for. Seriously so delicious. Not too saucy but just enough to give the meat some juice. The cheese plate has to be where I give the most praise because it is full of food and it was only $ 11. It comes with a LOT of cheese. Other restaurants around here scrimp on the cheese and then charge $ 18 for it and they only give you like, three grapes and a strawberry. Wine Exchange gives you a good bang for your buck in appetizer world. Lunch was the same story. The other food looked excellent and my lunch experience was decent, but this place is really growing on me.
