Great service great food! I would definitely recommend this place. The quality of sushi is phenomenal and the prices can’t be beat!

One of my favorite places at the International plaza. I am always on the move so it is nice to have a restaurant that has a sit down option and a quick to go option as well. I love the conveyor belt concept so its quick and easy to pick the food I want. The price is reasonable and and there are plenty of choices to choose from. From cooked to raw sushi. Ramen to small salads there’s always something to try out. This is the go to place at the mall to for some great sushi, great customer service and you will be nice and full while you shop some more or end the day. Cant wait to come back for some yo sushi!

YO! Sushi is a charming fast service restaurant with a lot of great options. Some things can lean towards a bit expensive but there is plenty within reasonable price especially with their various discounts you can take advantage of(make sure to check their website for those). I’m personally a fan of the smaller rolls like the Kappa because they’re easier to eat for me but there is still a perfect ratio of rice and cucumber. I haven’t seen a place that makes smaller rolls like this. They give you 6 rolls instead of 4 rolls so it evens out no matter what kind of roll you enjoy. I ordered takeout and got my food In less than 10 minutes! Their To-go containers and condiments were sturdy and kawaii. I was a bit worried ordering the tempura shrimp ramen bowl to-go because the tempura can get soggy fast. To my surprise it and the nori were packed on top of the bowl to keep warm, dry, and crispy! I’m extra impressed they take care in making sure you enjoy your food even when getting take out. Most places just throw everything together and it gets mushy and taste like re-heated food by the time you get home. Overall it’s a cool experience with friendly staff and depending on your price point you can find plenty of good eats.

I was excited about giving sushi another try, but this place wasnt able to change my mind. Expect to pay a few dollars for a small tiny piece of raw fish. Yo Sushi is located in the center of International Plaza and your food arrives to you via a conveyor belt that sends pre-made dishes that you can pick up yourself. I suppose this is the fun part of the dining experience, because the hefty prices they charged for each plate was not fun. I decided to eat some raw tuna and rice and then promptly left. Taste was acceptable, but nothing extraordinary, but I am biased against raw seafood in the first place.

Decent sushi if you are at the mall. Go for their happy hour, otherwise it’s overpriced novelty sushi cuisine. 4 pieces of a spicy tuna roll will run you $ 6, which is severely overpriced. You come here for the experience, not necessarily the cuisine or cost.

Super excited to come here. My children really got a kick out of the concept and loved the fun atmosphere. It’s literally in the middle of the mall which I was a little wary of at first, people actually look down at you from above and watch you eat which was weird. In regards to the food, which are very tiny portions(even the hot dishes you order off the menu), some are executed better than others. The server kept saying they were out of items we were trying to order which was annoying. The main issue is that some of the plates are $ 6 and &7 which is not worth that price for what you get. Lastly, beware — the plates add up very quickly because it is tempting to try everything. We ended up spending over $ 100 for 2 adults and 2 children for lunch! Yikes! The worst part was that none of us felt full when we left lol. It was a fun experience though — but there are better sushi restaurants out there without gimmicks.

This is becoming a great option for sushi at lunch time. I’ve been a couple of times with a few coworkers. The service has always been quick and efficient. It’s a modern and clean environment. I like to sit in the booths facing towards the escalators. It’s just interesting to watch the reaction of people on the second level as they’re looking down at the action on the conveyor belt. I typically order my sushi favorites instead of waiting for them to come around on the conveyor belt. My favorite so far is the Dragon Roll. It’s perfect if you like Salmon. I also get the lower priced Salmon Skin Roll. That gives me 8 pieces of yumminess for lunch. That’s all I need. I’ve had the unlimited Miso Soup as well. It’s a little heavy on the spring onion but it has a great taste. You can’t go wrong with any of these items. It’s all quite filling. They’ve recently added more items to the menu. They have many non-sushi items to pick from as well. It all looks tempting. I can see the urge to grab other eye-catching plates as they go by your table. You can definitely be in trouble if you’re one of those people who eats with their eyes. Try to visit on a Monday. You get more bang for the buck on Blue Monday. I can see why this concept has become so popular. I’m a big fan of it! I’m so glad that Yo! Sushi chose Tampa to be one of their US locations. It fits in very well at International Plaza.

If you’re going to eat at a conveyor belt sushi place, go during peak hours so that the offerings are fresher and more diverse. If you wait until after the peak, you’ll end up seeing the same 30 dishes spinning around. Mondays at Yo! Are blue plate days, where everything on the belt is $ 3.50. This can be a great deal if you want to sample a lot of items. The sushi is passable. If I hadn’t been around International Plaza with a hankering for sushi, I wouldn’t have come here. Nothing was bad, but nothing was especially remarkable. I tried their ramen, and the tempura was good, but the broth was missing something. It felt too light, yet was quite salty. Service was excellent.

Yo Sushi is so good! We had such a nice waiter. Our little daughter wasn’t feeling well and had a gross incident at the dining table and the waiter ran quickly to give us something to help clean up the mess. Okay sorry for the story. Back to the food. It was a rotary style sushi bar. It’s where they have a belt machine that is kind of like a train where they bring you the sushi and all the prices are on the menu. There are no surprises here you get what you can pay for or however you want to budget for it. The sushi is so fresh and delicious. We also ordered a bowl of Tempura Ramen it was really good. The broth wasn’t too salty but it was good.

This is half a review as I was here for a event but I will comment on my experience so far. It’s a place I’m definitely coming back but only when they have their specials. It’s a tad bit on the pricey side but for the experience it’s definitely fun! I mean… Almost $ 20 bucks for a bottle of sake which you can buy at the store for 8 – 12 bucks is a bit ridiculous. So! The event I went to was a preview for newer items to be released in May. So far there are items I didn’t like and items I loved. If you want the details for that please find my blog which the link is in my profile. I love how flashy yet simple and clean the conveyor belt is. There’s booth and bar seatings so wherever you want to sit at you won’t miss any action. The servers are really friendly and everyone is smiling! They have some killer deals like happy hour and also blue Monday’s! My absolutely favorite to die for dish is the Albacore Tuna with Ponzu and Truffle. Seriously, whoever thought of this needs a trophy. It’s something I am obsessed with. The sushi that I’ve tried wasn’t really impressive, but it’s certainly not bad. I do like that there’s unique dishes like takoyaki and okonomiyaki that aren’t normally served at restaurants. It’s a fun place to try, especially if you’ve never tried a conveyor belt sushi before.

This place is just a whole lotta fun. Who can resist bright disco colors and bouncy music? Well, combined with covered dishes on a conveyor belt, you’ve got paradise. Service is good, but I’m taking off one star because even with a light amount of customers, we were made to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. The food is fresh and you can order from their menu(of things that aren’t on the conveyor). Their iced green tea was freshly made with earthy matcha, which was a real treat.

At the heart of International Plaza. Great place to grab a quick sushi if your craving for one and you’re at international plaza. The sushi and sashimi are not not the best that I had but I wanted to try there revolving server(I think that’s what you call it. Not sure though.) it’s a different approach. You have to wait for the sushi or anything that you wanted to try to get to your table and be watchful of the color of the plate coz that’s how they will charge you. One good thing about this place was there unlimited miso soup. They don’t have a huge space so having a huge group is not recommended. Unless you wanted to get separated. Other than that this place was okay.

The gimmick sushi. I have been conveyor belt or rotation sushi in Miami 10 year ago. Now Tampa got their first rotation sushi. The seat booths are well decorated. This method is already popular in Japan. I saw quite a few when I visited Hokkaido. This type of food stand supposed to provide quick sushi for short lunch time or snack with no wait. Tonight we came in late at 8:30 pm. I would said come in at weekday not weekend and late or early of meal time is better. One– don’t have many people. Two-easy attention from waiter. Three-most important is order the fresh items that is not there and fresh to eat. Since the time we arrive is late, the chef start not adding dish in the conveyor belt. This actually better for me that I can order the fresh items. I would suggest the same thing if you want to try this place. We have order the spicy tuna, blossom roll, spicy pepper calamari, masago. I like their spicy tuna since it is all tuna meat in the roll, no added cucumber to occupy the meat space.

YO! Sushi is a fun, gimmicky Asian restaurant sitting in the center court area of the International Plaza mall. The concept of conveyor belt«kaiten» sushi has been popular around the world since the late 90’s, but has only recently been introduced in the US. YO! offers seating at their small sushi bar, or in booths along the conveyor belt path through the center of the restaurant. The chefs will prepare small plates of over 80 Japanese-inspired dishes including hot classics, sashimi, tempura, salads, hand rolls and desserts. Each order of food is placed on a color-coded plate, and covered with a clear plastic dome. As the food zips by on the conveyor, you grab whatever you like, and then stack up the empty color-coded plates for your server. Each color of plate is associated with a different price — anywhere from $ 3 — $ 7 per plate, and the server will tally up your bill after counting up your various empty plates of food. All of this is explained on the plastic-covered menu which serves as your placemat. At first I just grabbed some dishes that were familiar to me, but then I would look down at the menu, and look back up to try and grab something as it was zipping by. Very much like«I Love Lucy» in the pie factory! The concept was fun, and certainly gimmicky, but I quickly grew tired of waiting for something that I wanted, and just grabbed whatever looked good as it came by. In the end I spent a lot more money than I planned, and thought that the whole experience was so-so. YO! Sushi is a fun, novelty place for people that are new to sushi and don’t have a lot of experience and expectations. In my case, once was enough.

Not sure why others are saying this place is overpriced because if you do the math. it’s about the same, if not cheaper than a regular roll at any of your local sushi restaurants The conveyer belt is awesome to bring customers in & the food makes them want more. I personally loved the sushi & id say I’m a pretty good source as I eat it at least twice a week. They place their most popular plates in the belt, however you can order whatever you want on the menu from your server. Their spicy tuna roll is great. It’s fresh & just perfect on the spicy side. I believe the other roll I had was the crunchy prawn roll, which was my favorite. the sauce that accompanies the roll is amazing whatever it is. Overall, I’d definitely return to Yo Sushi.

The conveyor-belt sushi concept at YO! Sushi in International Plaza is a fun and unique dining concept, but overall I just wasn’t impressed with the food. The Good: 1. Service was friendly and very attentive. We never waited for anything and only pushed our call button once when we were ready for the bill. 2. Portions are small so you can grab just a plate or two for a light snack(or you can grab a variety of plates for a more filling meal). 3. Plates range from $ 3 to $ 7 so you won’t waste a ton of money if you don’t like a dish. The Bad: 1. Lack of variety. The same dozen dishes kept rotating on the conveyor belt. I kept looking for different sushi rolls, but gave up and ordered some hot dishes from the menu. 2. The sushi belt moves pretty fast so I had a hard time identifying many of the dishes on the belt until they had already passed. 3. Lackluster sushi rolls. Overall, the rolls were pretty boring and nothing caught my eye. I ended up settling on a spicy tuna roll. During our visit my husband and I ordered a green tea, the unlimited miso soup, edamame, vegetable tempura, chicken gyoza(dumplings), chicken yakisoba noodles, and a spicy tuna roll. The chicken gyoza was one of the most disappointing dishes since steamed dumplings are usually my favorite. The dumplings were bland and a little overpriced. I would not order them again and I also would not order the yakisoba noodles again. Although I wasn’t impressed, the food wasn’t terrible at Yo! Sushi. Our meal for two was under $ 30 so I would give this spot another try next time I am shopping at the mall, but this will definitely not be my go-to sushi spot.

Really fun experience. Ingredients and sushi design are not really up to snuff, but it is priced accordingly. Alot of the fillings seem to be imitation crab, but on the other hand the salmon I ate was good quality. The sushi chefs themselves don’t really look convincing, like just a bunch of randoms. I know, books and covers, but let’s keep it real. Enjoy it for what it is. An interesting experience with very affordable food. It is pretty fun watching food pass by and taking your pick and eating at your pace. I can appreciate it and would not be opposed to stopping by for a casual hang out with a friend.

On a lunch date with my buddy Melony, we just had too much fun. We opted to sit at the bar and chit chat with the sushi creators Sam and Chris. Chris was the Trainor who came from England and was there to train everyone during the week. He knows Yo Sushi backwards and forwards. They let us know the best and tastiest and most popular. We ordered their signature roll, the Yo Sushi, tuna tataki, popcorn shrimp roll, and the salmon dragon roll. We were highly impressed. It is super fun checking roll come through on the conveyor belt. If you are like me, you are indecisive, and if you miss it, be patient so it can come back around. If you can’t find it on the belt, just ask for it. I’m happy to see they have warm options too for the non sushi significant other. Excited to try some of those options like chicken, and steamed buns. They even have some dessert options. If you are not a chopstick user like me, ask for forks or trainer chopstick things. You will be so happy you did. This is super fun, innovative, super bright Las Vegas-like screaming sushi and lunch spot. Check it out, and enjoy the fun of the sushi ride!

Sushi conveyor belts rolling delicious options to every table just like I remembered in Japan but with a modern american twist! Having experienced conveyor belt sushi restaurants in Japan &NYC, I was so excited that a place like this finally exists in Tampa. Came here with the misses & wanted to try just about everything on the menu. kind of like Japanese tapas as the dishes are small enough to encourage you to grab a few to get full. Pretty simple concept, you sit & watch the food roll by … if you like it, you just pick it up off the conveyor belt, take the cover off the plate & eat away ! each dish is priced according to the color of the plate, and when your finished the waiter tallies the damage on your bill. with so many yummy things rolling by, it can be easy to rack up a hefty bill so just be careful because you pretty much want to eat everything that flashes across your eyes. I loved that everything on the menu had a picture on which made it easier to know what you were looking for. be sure to look out for the time stickers on the plate covers to check the freshness of the sushi on the conveyor belts! every dish we enjoyed alot as it came out fresh & hot since it was cooked straight from the kitchen! super friendly staff any awesome waiters! they actually took me & the misses 10 minutes before closing & didnt turn us super hungry folks away … thank you ! i could see this place doing well as its smack in the middle of international plaza & a new concept with the conveyor belt gimick not seen in tampa as of yet!

I love conveyor belt sushi restaurants! It’s a great concept, and the execution at Yo! Sushi is spot on. The place is immaculate, and our server, Austin was excellent. He was quick, friendly and answered all of our questions very thoroughly. Even let us play with the Help button. How can you sit there and not hit the Help button? I like how the conveyor passes in both directions no matter where you’re sitting. Most places, the conveyor belt only passes in one direction. Here, if you miss an item you want, it will be back by shortly. I lived in Hawaii, and conveyor belt sushi restaurants are common. For this concept to be successful, they have to stay busy, otherwise they’ll wind up trashing all the profits. With the location, exposure isn’t a problem. They have a lot of foot traffic, but the menu items are super expensive(about double what the average sushi restaurant charges for equal quality and quantity). At that price, they’re not really asking for return customers. With a price adjustment, this would be an easy 5 star review, but as it is now, I can’t justify the price for the basic menu and extremely small portions. Overall, it was a nice experience, in a nice location, with fresh sushi. I’ll go back, but my wallet can’t handle regular visits.
