Was not impressed at all. I ordered a pasta meal with shrimp, scallops, and clams. The pasta was cooked to the correct texture, the sauce was too greesy. The shrimp and scallops were obviously frozen not fresh and WAY overcooked. The shrimp also still had the vein in it and was grity when u chewed it. The clams nasty were canned I know cuz I bought the same exact tasting little itty bitty clams in a can from the dollar store weeks ago and took one bite and was like gross. Also another member in our dinner party ordered a crab cake sandwich, the soft shell crab was a ¼ size of the bun. So basically she paid for bread. So sad a nice looking restaurant near the water and near many local fisherman they should have fresh seafood. This app made me chose a star rating. I really don’t even want to give 1 star rating. My stomach was upset all night after eating here.

You go a place and have a horrible meal(sent overcooked pasta back 2x wanting it aldente w white clam sauce) and it comes back the same the 3rd time. Don’t go back for 10 years. 2 for 1 pizza both so undercooked might have been eating raw dough. Ask for 4 – 5 more in the oven. What? Just as undercooked. Live 8 miles away never go AGAIN

Food is excellent. Service is even better. Owner is one of the best Italian chefs in the Northern Neck. Outside music in parking lot could be turned down about five notches. Romas in Tappahanock is the best. Grazie.

The pizza was great. Not greasy at all! They delivered to my office nearby so I don’t know how eating in is.

Had a great lunch on our way back to Boston. Owner grows his own eggplant and it was delicious as well as the sausage and veal sub. They make their own sausage which was very flavorful and use REAL veal, not that frozen patty stuff. We also had one of their meatballs and it was excellent. Wish we could have stayed for dinner! Will keep it on our list of places to stop on our travels.

One word great”. I grew up in western PA with my grandparents straight off the boat from Italy. My gran ma was always cooking peasant style food. I’ve lived in DC for 15 years and have always missed great, simple, down home Italian cooking. That is until now. This place is perfect. The dining area is plain and clean. The food is fantastic. My wife had the lasagna. Rich ricotta, flavorful meats and a sauce that taste of fresh tomatoes. So many places pile on the sugar which detracts from the true flavors. Not here. I had the scampi. Very tasty.

Basic Italian fare, but it wasn’t bad. The salad bar is pretty decent, and the bread they serve is very good. My wife had angel hair pasta with tomato sauce, which was good. I had the Italian pannini, which was okay. Would have been better with a little more between the two slices of bread. Nice and clean inside, and our server(Joe?) was very good. I would stop back in to try something different next time we’re in the area.

We drive from Fredericksburg to this restaurant for a nice drive and a good meal at a family-owned friendly restaurant. The menu is EXTENSIVE with everything from paninis to veal dishes. Great wine and desert offerings as well. We love it!

I have eaten at Roma’s several times. When it comes to dining in Tappahannock Roma’s has it hands down. There is not a place in Tappahannock that comes close. I will say that the owner never lets the community down in his involvement with donations to any local cause. The pizza is awesome, the salad bar is also awesome. The calzone is not only awesome but you better not get the large unless your are feeding 3 or 4. Great place.

Awesome pizza! So good, and very reasonably priced! Terrific spot for takeout. Please go here over Pizza Hut, and thank me later! This place is awesome!

I’m giving Roma three stars because they used to be so delicious but they have changed their bread and sauce and it isn’t what it used to be. Family owned and everyone is really nice there. Tappahannock, Essex and State Police hang out. Always feel safe in there.

So, I went back again today with a party of 9. Everyone enjoyed their food. Certain dinner prices are a bit steep but you get larger portions. I still liked eating here. Our waitress was nice too!

Roma is a family friendly restaurant with friendly waitstaff and a small town atmosphere. The food is good, though a bit overpriced for what you get. I paid $ 15.95 for spinach over grilled eggplant floating on olive oil, with a side of pasta topped with a dallop of tomato sauce. The meal came with one trip to the routine salad bar, featuring the typical salad bar items and iceberg lettuce.
