Driving by, it may not look like much. But my hunger and desire to avoid the conjestion of Dedeconese guided me here for lunch. What a great find! My wife and I started out with some Tzatziki and pita bread as an appetizer. Now normally one would think Tzatziki is Tzatziki, right? Well… not when it’s truly authentic and made with yogurt instead of sour cream! The flavor was layered, tangy, and refreshing. I got the dinner combo platter with a skewer each of chicken and pork sovlaki and a gyro/burger patty. The patty stole the show to the point where this is what I’ll get next time! It was moist, flavorful, and very tender. I opted for the Greek Fries which are tossed in olive oil, oregano, and feta as my side. Man… these are worthy of coming back with my «fat pants» on! My wife had the chicken sovlaki dinner plate with the lemon potatoes. The potatoes were excellent! Both the chicken and pork were seasoned well and flavorful. The side salads were very good as well… a Village Salad will be in my future. You know… for the days when I don’t have the«fat pants» on! Get. The. Feta. Cheese! It’s $ 1 extra on the salad and worth it. Lastly, I had the Greek Coffee since it was different and I’d never have had this before. It’s best described as strong and dark. Now I like strong and dark… but this was definitely a «sipping» coffee. A little went a long way! Word to the wise: there will be sediment of coffee grounds in the bottom of the cup. Don’t eat it! Yeah… I did… All in all, I’ve got a new«go to» place when craving Greek food. The prices were great when compared to the tourist traps in the areas. The location much easier to get in and out of as well. And of course, the food on par with the best I’ve had in Tarpon. All together now… OPAH!
