DONOTORDERTAKE– OUTORDELIVERY! EVER! My family has been going to Plum Tomato for 14 years. In the last 3 years we have noticed many changes in the quality of the pizza. This was the best pizza in the area for years. On 5 different occasions in the last 2 years, we ordered take out(we usually dined in). When we received our favorites at home… there was always either something missing from the box/bag(ranch dressing for an extra large order of wings was not there, an extra large pizza was shaped like an uneven oval. Literally the shape of an eye and definitely not x-large as we had paid for, and other issues). When we would give in and crave the pizza, we would have to go into the restaurant and eat. There, at least we could have the server ‘fix’ the issue. However, this past week, we ordered two extra large pizzas. We did a pick up order. When opening the first pizza on top, it was wonderful. When that was completed, we opened the second box to continue eating. The pizza was almost raw. There was white flour all over the crust all around. The bottom was so floppy, a slice could not be picked up out of the box without falling apart. It was unedible. We wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt because we were long-term customers. We called and told about our problem with the second pizza. In the past, if we had an issue, we were treated to a free pizza on our next order, or sent out a new pizza at no cost to rectify the issue. Well, I told the guy that answered that the pizza was extremely undercooked. He then asked, «But was it good?» I said, «It was raw!!!» He said he could not do anything since it was a pick-up(as if we UN-COOKEDTHEPIZZATOSABOTAGEITOURSELVES?!) He then said he would give us 10% off our next order. I asked for a pizza at no charge when we next came in. He said he couldn’t do that… so, we won’t be going back. Poor customer service and horrible quality of take out and delivery food that cannot be monitored by management once it has left the restaurant. You will be throwing away your money– literally!

This past Sunday was our 1st time going here. The place is so small! They only have 8 tables! They really need to expand. We had to wait for a table. I think if they were to expand they’d make more money because most people won’t wait that long! We got lucky and didn’t have to wait that long. However, the food was pretty good and so was the service. I’m not sure if it’s worth waiting a long time though! They do a good take out business! We’ll be back but I doubt if we’ll wait long!

I don’t review often. But they deserve it. I’ve been eating here for a year, sometimes as many as four times a week. The pizza is the best I’ve had in Florida. The salads are literally perfect. The sandwiches are huge and better than any stand alone sub shop. The pasta dishes are worthy of a last meal request. The restaurant is clean, and the employees are always very freindly and know you by name after just a couple of visits. In all those meals, I’ve not once had a bad one. Thank you Plum Tomato!

I went back and forth about whether to rate Plum Tomato a 3 or 4(3 ½ would be perfect!). I’m going to err on the up side and give it a 4 this time, but I will certainly be back and must try the pizza. This place is tiny, but decorated very nicely inside. The service was excellent and multiple employees stopped by to check on us or pick up an empty plate. The menu has a nice variety of pasta dishes and pizza along with sandwiches and subs. I ate here with my mother early on a Tuesday evening and every table was full by the time we left. I decide my ratings based heavily on my opinion of the food taste and quality. My mom ordered the chicken parm and I ordered the eggplant parm. Both entrees came with a side of pasta and a soup or salad. We both ordered house salads which were very nicely sized with lettuce, tomato, green pepper, and cucumber. The pasta sides came out first in their own bowl and they were so big that my mom thought they had messed up her order and brought her a spaghetti entrée! Both parmesan dishes were hot and cooked perfectly, but I didn’t think the dish overall was anything really special. I thought the pasta side was rather bland with an unexciting red sauce. My mom loved her chicken parm and the bread that came with the meal. As we were walking out, we saw a few pizzas on tables and they looked very good — I will be back to try a pizza and see if my rating sticks where it is now!

We order delivery from here about once every other week or so. The pizza is fantastic! I don’t know what’s in their marinara sauce, but it’s the best I’ve ever had. I wish they sold it in bulk. The calzones are huge. I get at least three meals out of each one. The meatballs are very tasty(a relative’s favorite). Ate in at their restaurant once. Small place with a lot of charm. Tasty food.

My lover the gluten free pizza. 5 out of 5. But my regular pizza had only the slightest sprinkle of sauce with a crust that was as hard as a rock. The cheese was good. However, the staff is EXTREMELY friendly and attentive. Very clean place too. Kind of a small place so get there before 6 or call to reserve a table. I’ll be back to try other things on the menu. This revue is based on my pizza only. **Ok, so I had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, my teenage son had a burger, wife had pizza. Conclusion, have the pizza. The pizza is fantastic and apparently one of the top TWO places to get pizza in Pinellas. Spoke to folks while waiting for a seat and they said pizza is great. ** ********** Ok back one more time. Wife likes the gluten free. I tried the regular cheese pizza again. The worst crust I’ve ever had, this is like something you would expect from a gas station pizza place. No flavor, just a piece of crispy cardboard with goop on top. Never coming back. It’s so bad, I’m never even going to go to Klosterman or any business there just to keep my distance from here. I can’t figure out why this place is crowded. Retired Snow birds with dead taste buds? April 2016 Back cause my wife still likes the gluten free pizza. I tried the chicken Parmesan… Like eating shoe leather with sauce loaded with sugar. Horrible. … I’m not coming back.

Plum Tomato has saved my bacon on multiple occasions! Some work nights are just impossible to cook on & these guys are my delivery pizza go to. I’m of the philosophy, if it’s pizza it’s got to be New York style & this place fits the bill. Unfortunately when you call in don’t be surprised if you get a side of New York attitude. Hopefully owner will consider reviewing employee phone etiquette because this is a great little place to get a pie!

I have eaten here and had take out for the last 4 years. The take our pizza has gotten progressively worse every time. I keep thinking 1 more time it will be better. I end up throwing it away. It comes ice cold and more than not burnt. It is the worst I have ever eaten. Last night we gave it another try, my husband even went and picked up our food. He should have looked at the pizza before he left the restaurant because it was awful.(We live less than 5 minutes) away, so nothing should ever be as cold and old looking as my pizza is-ever. His pasta was hot so no complaints for his food, just mine. I will never order another pizza from plum tomato again.

The pizza is fantastic but today it’s a calzone and Greek salad. This place is small and cute. I love coming here but delivery is good too!

How does it take 2 hours from the time of order to delivery?!! The pizza is good and the wings are great but they are either too busy to deliver late

This is some of the best pizza I’ve found in Tampa area. It’s so good that I’ll drive 30mins from home to pick up an order. The restaurant is rather small though. If you are looking to dine in you need to be aware of the time of year, week, and or day you are trying to eat in. There will be long lines if you are trying to eat in during the spring break time. The food is worth the wait though.

Great little pizza place at the corner of Alt 19 and Klosterman that serves up delicious dishes. They have a lunch special for 2 slices and a drink for $ 5.00 which is awesome. They also have a cheese pizza special during the week for $ 8.99 and they offer FREEDELIVERY.

Today I went to plum tomato for the millionth time. Unfortunately, my last few visits, for to go pizzas, as well as the meal that I had today, were decent but not the normal 10 out of 10 quality that I’m used to getting. I feel like the ingredients have either been changed to sub quality ingredients, or there’s something going on with the prep/cooking process that has changed the flavor to be less than perfect. This is very disappointing because I was extremely happy when I discovered that I had Pinellas County’s best Italian restaurant less than a mile from my home last year. In addition to the quality of food that I ate today, the service was a little frustrating. It’s currently pouring outside and I know that affects the amount of money a sever is going to make but her frustration with the situation was felt more than her wanting to make best of a bad situation. I have to add that the phone was ringing off the hook for delivery and pick up because of the rain, and she was training a new server, so I understand that can be a frustrating situation knowing you are working hard for a delivery drive to make the tip, but with someone of her experience and tenure, which I’ve had such wonderful service from in the past, I expected just a little bit more. All of this combined with the Togo pizzas that don’t taste the same as they used to, and come out a little under done usually now because they’re so busy, I’m just not sure if I’m going to be able to go back. If the owner reads this please know that this upsets me even more to know that I’m going to have to find another Italian restaurant that can come close to producing the type of quality food and service that you once delivered. Qualifications– Italian Trained Chef 3yrs FOH Manager 2yrs BOH Manager 2yrs GM1yr Health Inspector(food) US Army 8 yrs I am going from a 5 to a 2 because of the disappointment I have with there fall from perfection. Please know that they are more of a 3 restaurant now. Food points– Pizza cheese doesn’t taste the same Being cooked underdone Caesar Salad isn’t tossed and the dressing taste more like creamy Italian than Caesar Alfredo sauce is bland heavy whipping cream. The flavor of cream egg garlic parm cheese pinch of nutmeg for depth, when combined together(plus a few others spices) was completely missing from my pallet. I did my best with the spices made available on the table to fix it but still wasn’t Alfredo.

Can’t judge the food because there are only a few tables and a few bar seats and a long wait and hardly any parking available. Offered a curbside outdoor table on the sidewalk of the strip mall with a severe thunderstorm warning, gale force winds blowing outside — seriously??? That’s not an offer to make new customers — within minutes of leaving it was pouring. Noted clientele was elderly and the pizzas looked average to me. Not going to give it a second chance.

Cute little restaurant in a dumpy looking strip center. Very small(10 tables?) and busy with a lot of customers picking up take-out pizza orders. Great pizza! Tried the Greek which had gyro, fresh tomatoes, great feta, black olives, and slices of fresh garlic — love the garlic! Ordered a small house salad which was enough for 2 to split. Friends ordered pasta dishes — huge portions and all proclaimed to be very good. Friendly service and reasonable prices. 2nd visit: Margherita pizza was covered in too many canned tomatoes which left a pool of liquid and there was barely any cheese on the pizza. Fresh basil, garlic, and non-mushy crust were great, but overall disappointing especially when I know how great their pizza can be.

Since my surgery, My body has been having odd cravings. VERY specific cravings. Today it was pepperoni pizza. I figure it’s my body’s way of saying –try it. see if you can eat it– and who am I to judge? Instead of chain pizza, I decided I wanted to try this place I’ve driven by so many times, but never stopped in. Convinced the husbeast that this is the place we should try. He agreed. The moment we walked in, we were enveloped in the succulent scents of –good– Italian food. We arrived as they were doing an employee turn over, so although our order was taken, it took some time for any of the food to come to us. We were not offered any bread, so as I said. it took some while for our Caprese(or as they call it Mozarella Fraisce) Salad to arrive. When it did arrive, it was absolutely delicious. The pizza, it was New York Style, so thin crust, rich, fresh sauce and lots of ‘roni. It was –very– good pizza. All in all, the food was really good, even though the service was a bit slow-ish. I would CERTAINLY eat here again!
