I don’t know, but for the longest time the name of the place held me back. «Cookhouse» just didn’t seem appealing. But today, the husbeast and I decided to stay local to lunch and went inside. What we found was a Mom & Pop style diner that was neat and clean on the inside. The counter top was filled with in house baked pastries and cookies, and the cold case near the register had cakes, pies and napoleons. All looked delectable. The place was hopping, and right away we could tell why, the place smelled absolutely divine. We were sat near the window and handed the menu that was extensive. They cover breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as a lot of desserts. As we perused, we noted that they had –everything– from Greek, Italian and even peruvian items on their menu, even a good, old fashioned thick American burger graced the page. There was a typed up page of «Specials» for the day tucked inside. In the end, I opted for their Own recipe fried chicken and the husbeast ordered the fried seafood platter… yes, it was just one of those days. We both got a salad, a form of starch and veg, and little did we know the plate also included our dessert. Trust me, this is a LOT of food. The salads are large, crisp and fresh! With pepporcini peppers, klamata olive, onion, tomato, cucumber and 2 kinds of lettuce, all brought in every other day and chopped in house. You can tell, it’s REALLY fresh and tasty. The blue cheese dressing was REAL blue cheese. I had a hunk of cheese that was literally 1″ large in mine. The meals themselves were generously portioned too. My chicken was ½ a small chicken, dipped and golden fried. It was slightly sweet and very crunchy. The potatoes I chose were the oven roasted and Oh so tasty. The green beans were flat style and they were ok. The husbeast’s plate had Large, juicy shrimp, breaded scallops — so large I thought they were hush puppies and a very large cod fillet. He got fries and cole slaw with his meal and he liked it all. The end of the meal came with our desserts: Really good vanilla ice cream and Rice Pudding — what? I’m in Tarpon, sue me. The service was REALLY good, very attentive. You can be certain I will come back, and soon!

Excellent Greek diner. Felt like a New York diner. Absolutely delicious food, but the parties and dessert were the best. The owners are so involved with the business. So nice to see a true family owned business.

We’ve been to Spirou’s several times now for breakfast, lunch and dinner and both the food and service have been consistently excellent. Prices are very good. Great menu and bakery on the premises. Our favorite, new go-to restaurant.

Just finished our dinner there. We have been in the area for a year and have eaten here multiple times. The food has always been tasty. We ordered Souvlaki(chicken) and pork chops, a glass of wine, and sweet tea. The salads came out quickly and were good. We waited 45 mins for our entrees. The server apologized as we watched other patrons that came in after us, enjoying their meals. When my fiancé cut into the pork chops they were not throughly cooked; neither one of them. The server apologized again, took the whole plate and returned after about 5 mins with the side dishes on the same plate. Fifteen minutes later, he returned with the pork chop, now crispy on the outside but cooked throughout. Since we had already been there over an hour, we asked for a box for both of our meals and the check.(I wasn’t going to enjoy mine in front of him) Upon checkout, the owner asked how it was and we explained to her that it was a 45 min wait for food that was not edible.(Nicely) She apologized and have us a 20% discount… which knocked off $ 3.20. We spent $ 35 on 2 salads, a glass of wine, and leftovers that won’t be eaten because the pork chops are burnt on the outside. I felt like our experience and extended amount of time at the end of a long work day was worth more than three bucks. We left hungry and frustrated. There are a lot of options in Tarpon Springs for great food. We probably won’t be visiting there again.

Grwat service and the food was very good. I had the chef salad and I ate off it three times. My friend had the hot dog plate and it was great. Huge portions!

I waited for 10 minutes without even being greeted, they seemed to be ignoring the many people waiting for a table, very lazy staff, it’s a shame they closed Chloe’s and this is what they left us with

I moved here nine months ago from NYC. Searched for a clean and friendly breakfast place for daughter/daddy time. Hands down Spirou’s won. Staff are very welcoming and the food is really good from breakfast to salads to their wings. Well worth a try if you are a local of down for the beach. The only review I’ve ever written. But well and truly deserved.

It’s looks like Spirou’s replaced Cloe’s. The service, breakfast and atmosphere is outstanding. Very glad we found it!
