I would not stay here if it was free. As inexpensive at this place was, it was still over priced. The front desk — more like a Dairy Queen serving window — had a bullet hole. That was my first observation. Yes, I was nicely greeted, but as with other reviewers, I only received a single key. I didn’t want to ask for another. The room was a bit of a shock. It was a depressing dark cavern and probably the most horrendous hotel room I have ever seen. The smell was putrid; walls were scuffed and had holes; bathroom rubber moldings had disgusting glue all over the walls/floor. Furniture was probably pulled out of an alley. The tv was very old, but worked; the a/c wall unit wheezed away with a weird smell but cooled the room. The refrigerator was precariously balanced on top of a small table with a microwave on top. All of these electricals were plugged into a single power strip, in addition to a toaster(shoved to the back of the tv). At one point, the electrical outlet started smoking and the fire alarm went off. That was unplugged. I was terrified to sleep in the bed… the shower had mold everywhere including the curtain. The toilet was disgusting and scuffed. The bathroom was huge, but you would not want to spend any time in there(ancient formica counter, stained sink)… The outside of the hotel gives a 60’s retro vibe and could be a cute place to stay if the owner bothered to put some money into a major renovation. The place is situated across the street from a beautiful lake, so it is ideal for a walk… probably to find another hotel. To make this stay even more abominable, a neighboring guest decided to put the tv on at full blast while pounding on the floor and walls until midnight, only to start again at 6:45 am.(Everything was vibrating, so sleep wasn’t possible). I didn’t dare venture to the pool. And by the way, if you want a late check out, they charge for it. I wanted to take pictures and post them, but I really don’t want a reminder of my stay at this place.

Very dirty. Rooms were not cleaned regularly, and when they were«cleaned» not much actual cleaning took place. Sheets were dirty, and were not changed regularly. Bathroom was dirty. Cleaning staff would only give us one clean towel unless we begged for a second(there were two of us staying in the room). Trash was not removed daily. Floors were always dirty. Front desk staff thought it was unreasonable for us to request 2 room key cards. Again, there were two of us staying there. Swimming pool was filled with leaves. Empty bottles and wet towels were littered around the pool for days. Yes, those things were left by sloppy guests, but it was clear that no one was doing anything to clean the pool. Rooms smelled pretty foul. Beds were uncomfortable. Yes, it’s an inexpensive motel that is old and run down, but that doesn’t justify failing to make any attempt at cleaning it.

We can’t express how happy we are with this find!!! It’s not modern, but for the money it’s clean and spacious, and extremely well positioned!!! We will be staying here for all future visits to the area… Marriott, Hamilton Inn, and Fairfield Inn for $ 100+a night can suck it!!!

Not even one star worthy. The most horrendous place I’ve ever stayed. Absolutely disgusting and everything was dirty. Could only sleep on the sheets because you could physically feel the dirt on the blanket. Bugs flying around, and bathroom was so gross. The only upside is a good location, but even for the few hours I needed a room(to sleep a little and shower, for one night!) it was not worth the little amount of money you saved. I would not recommend nor ever stay here again!

I didn’t plan on writing this review, because with two one-stars, I think it’s ’nuff said. However, just want to report that in March, my friends and I went to Tarpon Springs. I stayed at a different place but my friend’s family made reservations here. When he called before the trip, was told that the hotel changed hands, so tough luck, but his deposit was gone. Hotels do change hand, but to have the deposit forfeited for that, wow, that’s bad. And every year we go to Tarpon Springs, this hotel has changed hands. I don’t know what books the prospective owners were shown, but someone got to realize that this place is such a dump, there is no way to patch it up, that demolition is the only way to go. Too bad, because the hotel does sit on an excellent spot. Right in front of the bayou and park where we have seen manatees. Walking distance to downtown’s shops and restaurants and weekend Farmer’s Market. But the motel itself is just overall very run down and dirty… the bed, the bathroom, the peeling paint, the bugs… the rattling banister… Not the place you can feel relaxed. You just want to avoid contact with everything if possible. In a previous stay I forgot my key and found that our door didn’t even lock properly, it opened with a hard bang! The staff wasn’t very friendly either and most requests(repair, etc.) were ignored. One maid was nice enough to bring us a candle when one of our friends complained of the smell, though it did little good.

They advertise it as hotel but they actually are a horrible motel. It’s the worst experience in my life, the place is a complete chaos, room was filthy, dirty, everything was dirty, damaged or stinky, we didn’t sleep in the beds under the blankets, we simply were afraid to catch something under them, we can’t stand the horrible mold stink in the room, totally waste of money, worst stay ever, not recommended to anybody, we even took pictures of the condition of room, even ceiling was cracked and we were afraid to get it falling on us at night. Not recomended to anyone
