I’m really starting to re-think my loyalty to the Marriott brand in general. My main beef with this place is that the room just wasn’t clean. I was too tired to go back to the main desk and ask for another room(but I did check the bed to make sure there was nothing suspicious on/in the sheets first…). At first glance, the room was very nice — spacious — with a small kitchenette area(sink, single cup coffee maker, fridge) across from a desk… with a couch… then there was the bed with a jacuzzi tub in the corner of the room… plus a decent sized bathroom. That’s all fine and good, but if it’s not clean, I don’t care. There were footprints and dirt next to the tub/toilet area. There was a giant long, thick black hair(not mine!!) on the floor near the sink area. There was«something» on the actual toilet seat… yes…I had to clean it off myself.(eew) Before all of those lovely discoveries, I bolted for the tub and thought that might be a good idea to soak and wind down after a long day. It looked clean! But, when I ran the water for a bit, it was brownish-yellow. So, no tub for me. And before THAT… Upon entering the room, I was greeted by an arctic blast of air. Not kidding. It was freezing and I could hear the A/C unit cranking. Now, I generally like my hotel rooms on the cooler side, but this was ridiculous. I checked the wall thermostat and the temperature in the room was 58 degrees… and set to 48. Makes me suspicious. Why would someone leave the thermostat on 48?!(That said, I’m surprised that it actually went down that low… so many hotels don’t really allow for«much under 60-something degrees».) A few other things: –The towels were dingy and very worn out –The floor that I was on was the«first» floor — which is basically underground. The main entrance is on the 3rd floor b/c the place is built into a hill. There is a bar and they do serve food, but I didn’t partake in anything there. They do give you a complimentary bottle of water upon arrival and breakfast is also complimentary(which I didn’t have). It was a weird night. I only stayed there b/c the other property up the street was booked. Not in any rush to go back.

If I could give zero or negative stars I would. As a Marriott rewards member I did not expect to be placed in an underground room. It’s not the dungeon he said… Actually it pretty much is! There was NO internet connection and they have the guests call tech support to fix the connection. Apparently they are not too concerned that this is an major inconvenience for the scores or business travelers in the area– didn’t care that I checked out a few days early and said I would stay elsewhere. I’ve stayed in funnier hotels that had better customer service and amenities to make up for the shortcomings!
