Worst service I’ve ever had. I walked in knowing exactly what I needed but the woman refused to help me find it. I asked where it was she said she’d grab it for me in a minute so I patiently waited then after a few minutes she, in a very nasty tone, said «do you want to go grab it?» And which point I replied I tried but couldn’t can you please help me find it. She wouldn’t so I left. Truly horrible customer service. It would’ve taken two minutes to assist me in my purchase and I would’ve been happy and out the door and now I never want to purchase from this store or MAC again.

MAC products are of course great, but this location always seems to be understocked and understaffed. they had 2 people on the floor on a Saturday afternoon while 6 of us waited in line. Not good

The girls here are so sweet always on top of everything! Great customer service, they greet you in a friendly manner. I love coming to this Mac! My fav Mac store in the valley. They always have everything in stock!

Denay (I hope I am spelling her name correctly) was just AMAZING! I needed a foundation/​primer match, powder, concealer & mascara. I was nervous because it has been many years since purchasing Mac. I also had some VERY old containers to recycle. I turned in 6 and received an eye shadow for free. Denay was friendly, welcoming, professional. She listened to what I wanted and was open, honest and did not try to sell me something I did not want. She is warm, but also really knows her make up. She is an asset to Mac. I only hope they know this. I will be coming back to this location for both the products, but more importantly Denay!

I was in the area so came here to get some more blue eyeshadow. Customer service was friendly. $$$ with the exchange rate.

I’m not going to write an insensitive review, because I love MAC and I think the products are top notch. I just want to offer some suggestions for this location based on my experience there.
I went into the store, and the employee was chatting with another customer. Someone eventually came out from the back. I had a question about a product and she said «I’m sorry I don’t know anything about the products, you’ll have to wait for my associate to help you.»
She was doing a makeup consultation. How can you work at MAC and be doing someone’s makeup for them but have no idea about the products?
The lady finally came to help me, and I asked her what the lightest shade of foundation was available in a particular line. After spotting the display information, I discovered that she was completely wrong. She didn’t offer to do a color match on me, nor did she offer any help in picking a shade. She just kind of stood there and waited for me to tell her what I wanted. I told her «I’ll just go back home and figure out what I bought last time.»
I knew more about the products than these ladies did. I figured out my shade based on looking up my past orders online. By that time, I decided not to bother her again to ring me up, and I ordered online.
Please understand, the two ladies that were there were extremely polite and sweet. Their customer service skills were excellent and impressive. I was greeted when I entered. But, I think MAC needs to make sure their employees know the products backward and forward before they are allowed on the floor or anywhere near clients.
This is to say nothing about the products themselves. With MAC you can’t go wrong. I apologize if I sounded in any way harsh in this review. I was just taken off guard that they had such little knowledge about the products they were trying to sell. That’s never happened at a MAC store with me.

I was very excited when this location opened as its quite close to my house. I figured I don’t have to drive down to Topanga mall anymore for purchases or any of my appointments. Boy, was I wrong.
First and most importantly of why I’m giving such a low rating is customer service. I’ve stopped by about 4 to 5 times hoping something would change. I guess you could relate it to being in a bad relationship hoping your significant other would change but you experience the same qualms over and over…
Each time I went in was for a different reason: make a purchase, make an appointment to get my make up done, try out some new make up. Each time was the same awful experience. The staff makes you feel quite unwelcome. They approach and greet you (and I use the term lightly) as if they’re doing you a favor when assisting you. I was horrified each time and I guess it’s my fault for continuing to go back…
This last experience was the final breaking point. I went in to exchange a mascara they sold to me. I purchased it because I was assured it was the same one I always use but just a bit darker. It wasn’t. So when I went in I was thinking I can do an easy exchange for what I normally purchase, nope.
The lady walked away in the middle of me explaining my reason for the exchange. I turned around to notice her putting away merchandise. I was in disbelief and she simply looked at me and said «I’ll be right there.» when she finished whatever she left to do I continued to explain the situation, she looked at me and asked if I had the receipt. I did not. She called a manager over and the manager asked me the same question. Again I told her I did not. I don’t know why they thought the receipt would magically appear in the 2 minutes it took her to come, she thought it was worth asking again.
I understand if they have certain policies in place and they can’t do something, but the rudeness and the feeling of a complete lack of disregard for their customers blows my mind. I walked out.
Good news is that I went back to Topanga and they, as always, assisted me and offered great service. I hope they get there act together here otherwise I can anticipate many more unhappy customers.

Not very satisfied with the service here. I guess the sales chick wasn’t interested in commission because i went home with only three items and she forgot to give me the other 3 items I wanted, which was a total of 6 items… I needed lipstick, she forgot that, highlighter and translucent setting powder. I was really disappointed when I got home to find out that I had not gotten those items. Guess I will go to a different MAC store. Oh and also I spent about $ 100 there and asked for a makeover because at other Mac stores if you spend $ 50 minimum you get one and the chick said I have to pay another $ 50 for a makeover. WTF? I didn’t even want a full makeover I just wanted to test out products so I could buy more stuff. The chick here is seriously retarded.

I had a really great experience at this location.
I came in at about 5:15 on a Friday and the place was pretty dead. This is something you will NOT find at any other MAC locations in the valley. Because of this, I ended up getting full attention by the makeup artist out on the floor, save for her having to run to the phones every so often. My makeup artist was absolutely fantastic; she understood what I wanted and gave me unbiased opinions and tips when it came to products. When I told her I usually got a specific mascara and my aim was for super thick, doll-​like lashes, she didn’t hesitate to tell me no and directed me to a better alternative. She taught me how to contour my face and provided friendly, but unobtrusive, conversation, and I honestly felt like she was my friend.
Needless to say, I walked in expecting to buy a few brushes and some mascara, and walked out $ 300.00 poorer but with a fully made-​up face, some excellent new products, and confidence that didn’t exist before!
My only qualm is I wish they would have had at least one other employee there to answer the phones and greet customers. I understand that there were only a few of us in the store, but the poor girl on the floor was scrambling between helping me and two other guests and answering the phones and it looked like a lot of work for one person! Really, though, I’m super satisfied with the service.

Amazing store! Everytime I go the sales associates are so helpful and are always answering any random question I have. They also have awesome recommendations based on what you’re preferences are. Five stars all the way!

I went to Mac today to do my makeup for my brothers wedding! I must say I was a little nervous because I have never had my make up done professionally and I don’t wear a lot of make up! I walked in and was politely greeted… Then, Jenny was the one doing my makeup! She was so amazing! Listened to all my thoughts and was kind along the way! The final look was amazing and I am so happy I got my make up done with her!
I will definitely be coming back! =)

This is the store I’ve been waiting for. They are friendly, helpful and, clever. If you have a certain look in mind but, you’re clueless about it they’ll help you achieve that look and teach you all the how too’s in the process. They take care of everyone by taking time to ask questions. They have such a great ambience and make you feel at ease unlike other Mac stores I’ve been too. Thanks girls!!!

MAC is a girl’s drug of choice. Make up for a girl is like a cool car for men: we just love it.
It doesn’t even matter how much makeup we wear, how often we wear it, or if we really need it… We just have to have it!
Honestly I think it goes back to most of our childhood days when were around 10 years old and wanted to dress up our baby dolls or Barbies and make them beautiful. As little girls, applying makeup to our favorite doll babies, and we took it very seriously. Except now we’re adults, and we get to put makeup on ourselves, which is so much more fun! MAC is our playground, the kind of store that we want to play in all day long because it’s so fun!
The truth is most people think makeup adds beauty to oneself, so I think us girls associate being beautiful with MAC. It could also be that all the girls that work there are makeup artist and know how to apply amazing makeup to other people and themselves. I think we all wish we could have the MAC store in our bathroom, or at least I do! Either way I see magic and sparkles when I walk into this store.
I really love this actual MAC location. The store is always very clean, organized and never too crowded. I love the customer service and how they always have products in stock. Erica has always done a beautiful job with my makeup. Their customer service here is outstanding and someone is always there to help you match the right colors or get the item you need.
They also have special events called Forward Fashion. This is where they offer a free class to teach you how to do your own makeup and your only requirement to participate in this event is to buy $ 50 worth of product, which is perfect for me, because Ican purchase everything I loved in the sampling process.
Another awesome thing MAC does is that every time you are done with a container of their product you can bring six empty containers and get a free lipstick, lip gloss, or eye shadow. So save all your lipstick cases, ladies, even the bag the makeupwipes came in, for it all counts as a product to turn in! How cool is that?!

If i said it once I said it a million times. I love this MAC my girls Erica, Jessica, and Tash know whats up. They know how to treat all of their customers from bummy (me) to uppity clients they always have a smile on their faces and make you feel fabulous! On top of that they are geniuses with their mad cosmetic skills and different styles of make up, they have so much skill consider them professors!!! And actually they do teach classes at this MAC. This MAC will always be my first go too store.

Jessica did my makeup for an afternoon event and was just fabulous. There’s no negatives to critique at all. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I looked gorgeous! She didn’t overdo it while giving me flawless coverage at the same time. Everyone was asking me who did my makeup! I was thrilled with her work! I will definitely be back there at Mac Tarzana for my next occasion.

We were having lunch and noticed a mac, so after lunch as the spur of the monent, I decided to go in. I was greated immediatley. The lady that helped me was so nice was very helpful. Some Mac locations the artist are a little snooty. Not this location, the ladies were all so nice and I was pushed to buy more than what I came in wanting.

When I first walk into the store I got someone who wasn’t very helpful with finding foundation but then I was help by Shane he was very helpful and was awesome I appreciate your customer service and personality was great thanks again :-) well be back soon

My favorite MAC location and the best hands down! I love that it’s right by my house and I don’t have to drive all the way to the mall to buy all my MAC needs.
I completely disagree with the negative review of the store feeling unwelcoming. The girls here are the nicest gals I’ve encountered and very helpful. Sometimes you have to be patient because they are helping others there before you — duh!

I love shopping here! This is the best MAC experience I have ever had. Each makeup artist is friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I’ve been in the store I learn something new and leave with great new products and tricks.
They place a high value on relational interactions so it’s not just a hard sell the whole time you’re in there. And if you frequent the store they will take time to get to know you and make sure you don’t miss out in any new product launches.
Shane is your guy if you want to learn brows and Jessica and Erica will teach you so much while they do your makeup! If you need an avant guard eye look Lissy will rock that out for you in a minute!
I can’t say enough about this store! If you’ve had a bad MAC experience like most of us this store will redeem that!
