I liked it better when it was called Vegan Factory, now when I recommend it to my friends they can’t find it because they’re called Thai something or another which loses them alot of business because most people go there to eat VEGAN food. Now that they’ve added a meat option I find it discouraging for strict vegans like me to eat there. But I can’t say I don’t love their food it is still amazing I just don’t like their choice of adding meat to the menu and changing their name.

Factory noodles with soy chicken — decent. Baby corn and mushrooms with soy fish — great. Thai iced tea — too sweet. Food was flavorful enough, we got medium spicy which wasn’t spicy enough. Restaurant wasn’t crowded, but it was a wednesday evening. Got confused by the names, there seem to be 2 for the place, but it is in a mini plaza next to Sri Lankan Delight.

Stick with the Vegan menu(they now offer a separate meat menu) and you’ll be just fine. Order the vegan shrimp pad thai, one of the curries, and a Thai iced tea, and you’ll leave happy.

If I’m ever in the mood to be a health nut, I like to go vegan on Saturdays and the rest of my days can just be a gluttonous blur of McDonalds. Why not. The look and feel of the restaurant is great. I would probably bring a friend here for dinner or I wouldn’t mind going on a date to Vegan Factory. The whole place is nicely lit and the décor is not too shabby. I come in and the service is meh. They’re nice but I feel like there wasn’t that extra mile. Normally, I enjoy when a waiter doesn’t just treat me like a customer. But that’s a whole ‘nother story. On to the food. The dishes seem pretty sweet. I can detect a little bit of brown sugar. I ordered the chicken and it came with a side of rice with a cute design. The food? It wasn’t memorable. If I was in the area and felt the need to be healthy, I would of course make a stop to Vegan Factory for some of their imitation shrimp. Yummy!

I’ve been here twice, sadly last night they were pretty much out of everything my sister wanted to order. I had the Pad Thai with Chicken(soy) and it was amazing. The pepper steak was also very delicious, overall the quality of the food here is very good, but if you don’t make it there early during the day, expect to have a bunch of stuff missing from the menu. I don’t know if they’re the best Vegan joint in LA, but they’re definitely top 3, of you’re in the area and want something healthier or if you’ve gone Vegan for whatever reason, then check this place out. These guys definitely know what they’re doing with Soy…

I love to take the family out to the Vegan Factory,(and friends as well). They have a wonderful selection of different tasty dishes. Many of my meat eating friends love their beeflike, chickenlike and shrimplike meals. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, easy to talk to each other there. I recommend the Vegan Factory to everyone to try.

I’m not a vegan and I’m generally not the biggest fan of restaurants with«factory» in the title, but this place has fantastic thai food. It’s been a while since I been here, but I loved ordering the«chicken» satay and the pad thai with tofu. Don’t go for the deep-fried tofu though. It’s was too greasy.

I must admit, the word«factory» in this restaurant’s name doesn’t really give me the warm fuzzies. Neither does«Vegan» but I do appreciate good Thai food! After an intense workout at the gym, I wasn’t going to unravel it with an unhealthy meal! So along with a health nut buddy, we dined at the Vegan Factory in hopes of some good eats. The food itself doesn’t disappoint. In fact it’s on par with other Thai restaurants in the Valley. The dishes tasted authentic and nothing was off. We had an order of the spicy Factory Noodles, spring rolls, tom yum(hot n’ sour coconut soup), and pad see iw. The tom yum very very aromatic and very tasty. I was surprised that it was that good. The pad see iw was a tad too sweet as the flavor didn’t really stand out. Both Factory Noodles and spring rolls were very good. Here’s the bad news: the service itself was not very good. Granted that the place had two or three other parties besides us, the wait to have our order taken was nearly 15 minutes. Our plates came but without serving spoons. I asked the server for spoons and he came back with only one. Nobody checked up on us during the meal and getting our bill was also slow. The payment was on the table for the taking but no one came by to retrieve it. So I had physically go the counter to find anybody willing to give us change and a few doggie bags. In summary the food itself was delicious. Nicely flavor and very authentic tasting for a vegan restaurant. Unfortunately the lack of service tarnished its’ overall rating down to 2.5 stars.

Good food… SERIOUSLY! HOWEVER!!! Only go here if you are not that hungry, or if you have enough money. Because their portion size is small. I mean, it is enough for someone small like me, but geez, my hubby(who is not fat, but is just a man that burns calories and gets really hungry), was like only partially full. The plate sizes are definitely too small. Great service and food though… ESPECIALLY the orange veggie chicken and Kung Pao veggie chicken. Their salads are awesome too, and soups.

Pretty alright. It’s one of those«raw vegan» feels, so it’s practically flavourless, but really good for you. Sometimes I’m in one of those«good for you» moods, so I can dig it. My friend and I got a Thai Iced tea and shared an order of spring rolls. As mentioned above, pretty bland. Plain tofu wrapped in soy paper with lettuce type of thing… My friend got this spread of shit like some noodle dish and some other appetizer, looked really good. She didn’t offer me any, so I didn’t get to sample it. Ha ha ha ha! For some reason, I can’t seem to remember what I ordered… I remember the entire day too… weird. Must not have been that memorable :/ Small portions and high prices.

Tried this out with my gf because the name caught our eye. We came in biased, thinking that ‘factory’ meant that it would be a bustling, order-at-the-counter, modern-looking type restaurant. In fact, it is a reasonably-priced Thai sit-down restaurant. Looking over the menu, we both had a hard time deciding what to order, as there were a lot of appealing options. I ordered the chicken(soy) burger and she ordered the steak wrap. My burger was one of the least-attractive burgers I’ve seen. The piece of soy chicken was fried and very small/thin. The burger as a whole lacked much flavor or character. I was happy that it included avocado and cucumber(though by cucumber, I mean it was one slice, and it was THICKER than the cut of chicken). My gf’s wrap was tasty. However, for $ 8, it did not include many goodies. Being primarily a flour tortilla filled with plain lettuce, there were a few skimpy pieces of meat and a couple small pieces of cucumber and sprouts. It tasted good, but felt like something we could’ve made better and cheaper at home. The atmosphere is pleasant, but unfinished looking. For example, there is some artwork on the walls/shelves, but then a handwritten piece of paper taped to the wall saying«DONOTTOUCH». Overall…nothing bad here, but just too ‘eh’ to come back for.

After laying low on the meat, I decided to venture out to the Vegan Factory to munch on their vegan food. I was initially impressed at their menu selection. It has a great selection of appetizers, and the fact that it is a Thai restaurant adds a little edge compared to all the other vegan/vegetarian places. A got the Combination Tempura as a starter, but it did not match my expectations. Despite being deep fried(and anything deep fried tastes amazing!!!) the food was still bland. The best part was the the broccoli. Not that exciting. The Sizzling Seafood and the Kung Pao were both supposed to be spicy, but it was not that intense, as the waiter suggested. It was pretty salty, and overall, both were boring items. The surprise was the brown rice which was shaped as a star. Vegan Factory is worth to check out once, but after a couple of visits I think one would look for better options. The Vegan food is enticing, but it was not that interesting, nor spicy. I did leave the restaurant feeling very healthy, but disappointed. I would recommend checking out the menu before you sit down. If you are not satisfied there are many other places close by. The plaza is filled with so many other restaurants. There is a Sushi and India restaurant, and a Sri Lankan grocery store. Not to mention the IHOP in the adjacent plaza woo hoo.

I like to support vegan restaurants, but I have experienced better. Ordered pad thai with mixed vegetables. The vegetables consisted of one small broccoli floret, 2 carrot slices and 1 cauli floret. Sparse! Boooo. Fresh spring rolls were good. Dipping sauce for them: too sweet. Lentil loaf was just OK. It consisted of mostly brown rice. Which means I didn’t need to order a large brown rice for $ 3.50, but didn;t know until the food arrived. Lentil loaf came with a side of ketchup, which strikes me as both amusing and seriously lacking in creativity. Didn’t touch the ketchup. The lettuce –tomato –cucumber salad was served with Italian dressing on the side. Really? Why not Asian(i.e. peanut or ginger) dressing? Ordered praram rong song(steamed spinach topped with peanut sauce) with soy fish. The sauce was too sweet and there was too much of it swamping the poor soy fish. The spinach/swamp ratio was unbalanced. The atmosphere is casual and, um, bleak. There is no warm, homey feeling at VF. The few potted plants are dying:(I feel badly for them. I would give VF2 ½ stars but I will round up to 3 for the matching color of plate, cloth napkin and plastic chopsticks! Had to switch to using fork, though, as plastic chopsticks did not pick up food. If server had come around, I would have asked for wooden chopsticks. But, he did not.

I would give this place 1.5 stars, therefore I will round up to 2. I don’t understand how people in the restaurant industry can be so rude to those that keep them in business. Being polite will not kill you, and contrary to what your mother told you making faces your not accustomed to(like smiling) will NOT make your face stay that way. I was asking Nicole what type of ice-cream they use. This is a vegan restaurant that should cater to the needs of people with certain allergies. I’m not going into KFC asking for a gluten free meal. Anyways she couldn’t tell me, so a gentlemen decided he would handle my question. Right away he was defensive, and decided to say that the label peeled off on accident. He blurted out something along the line of «We get a big bucket from downtown, the label peeled off! What do you want me to do?! Dig through our trash cans!?» For the record, I would never ask anyone to do that, there was no reason to set that tone. It was shocking, and a tad bit funny. Labels do not just peel off, and I’m sure you know exactly what type of ice-cream you buy each week. Because of this, I will chose not to spend my money here. Good bye summer rolls, good bye tofu burger, and I hope to never see you again grumpy guy.

3.5 stars, rounded down. I like to start with the dumplings appetizer. The gyoza themselves were nothing remarkable, but the dipping sauce is great — a spicy soy sauce(perhaps a little ponzu? chili oil?) that went well with the pan-fried goodness. For entrees, I had the orange chicken, which was good but as another reviewer mentioned, a little too sweet. I’ve also had the spicy eggplant with soy beef(called«pepper steak»). This I very much enjoyed. The brown rice accompanying the meal was pleasantly served in a star-molded shape. Very cute little detail! Upon subsequent visits, I have tried the pad see ew(disappointing with rubbery noodles), the chicken drumsticks appetizer(delicious served with sweet&sour sauce), and the kung pao tofu(decent but not spicy enough to deserve those chili pepper markers). All in all, it’s a good restaurant, but I’ve found better vegan restaurants.

VF is located in the corner of a strip mall. I almost passed it because the sign’s lighting had gone out on a few letters and the restaurant had shades drawn on one side, and lights dimmed on the other. We ordered the tofu larb salad. Delicious. I’ve had larb at so many restaurants, and I have liked them all for different reasons. This one had excellent flavors, and bite size fried tofu cubes. We also had the spicy fried rice with tofu. I loved the tofu texture since they used firm tofu and it was friend into small flat squares instead of bulky little cubes. Their vegetable Tom Kah soup was just ok. Nothing bad about it, but not as well spiced as some places. The soup is a large enough potion to feed 2 people, or 4 people if you only have one bowl. The larb and rice portions were small. Most Thai places usually serve larger portions for the same price. Everything we had was very good, and service was relatively quick. We were seated immediately and the waiter was very polite. It was clean and decorated very simply. My only complaint is the dim lighting that I suspect is used to make this place seem romantic. Ehhh. Not working for me. The food is good, but it’s not a fancy-schmancy place. This place gets an extra star for supporting Animal Acres(vegan Animal Sanctuary for rescued farm animals). It’s maybe good that I don’t live anywhere near Vegan Factory, or I’d be more broke than I already am. Vegan Factory, I love you. Your simple décor in bright colors, your tasteful but interesting place settings with ecologically-sound reusable chopsticks, your menu that allows my choice of protein for each dish, your variety, your fast service, your attentive water-glass-filling, your doors open ’til 10 on Sunday night. And damn, your food. The Panang curry was delicious, a little spicy, and despite knowing the caloric content of coconut milk, my friends and I poured it on our rice and ate it happily(I’m surprised we didn’t use the ladle to pour it directly into our mouths). May I note my sheer delight at receiving a plate of brown rice… the rice molded into a star?! It’s like you KNEW. The cashew chicken had too much celery for my taste, but was good. The Factory Noodles, plate piled high with a generous serving, no skimping on the tofu, oh, how I wish I had a plate in front of me now to stuff my face with. Admittedly, your chocolate cake was unimpressive, although the frosting was delicious. However, your cheesecake??? Tart, moist, rich, fabulous crust… who needs dairy? Next time I visit, I’m not sharing a piece. I dream of when we can next be together.

The food is good here, but somehow it’s always empty! The soy chicken is delicious. I favor that over the soy fish. I’ve had soy chicken pad thai, spicy noodle, and curry(not all in one sitting of course). They were all delicious so I’m sure anything on their menu is pretty tasty. Pro: Parking is easy since the restaurant is located in a strip mall. Con: There is a $ 15 minimum on credit cards, which sucks.
