Amazing food! Geat Sushi! Excellent prices! Huge sushi selection. Hibachi plates are great as well, good taste, good portion.

When in Tavares, there’s only about 2 known Japanese places to go, being Kiku’s and Lampu. But sometimes I don’t want to crammed with a bunch of people to a table. So Japan express was a totally new experience. It’s super convenient for quick service although there’s no hibachi tables in front of you, the quality and taste of the food is the same if not better. Service is always great for me, so give it a try! The sushi and hibachi is delicious!

I really don’t understand why this place has such high reviews. I was visiting a friend in the area and I suggested we come here. We walked in and the staff was nice and suggested we seat ourselves. We ordered water with a plate of lemonS and the waitress brought us 1 a piece. When we asked for more, she asked us how many slices we each wanted lol. It was so strange because I’ve never had a server ask me that.
Anyway, we both got the special that comes with soup, salad and 2 rolls. We also both got a side of fried rice. Our rice was pretty cold so we asked for it to be heated up or some fresh one if it wasn’t any trouble. We got back some hot, extra crispy rice. It was like they popped it in the microwave and forgot it in there. The sushi was alright. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special. The water is disgusting, btw. Damn near undrinkable. It had the most disgusting after taste. It also took forever for the waitress to come pick up the checks and there were only two of us in there. Would I return to this place? HELL NO!

Best of the best in Lake County. Delicious Hibachi chicken teriyaki with white sauce for just $ 6.95. Got to try this place located just 5 minutes from Mount Dora in Tavares Winn-​Dixie plaza.
