The. Best. Key. Lime. Pie. On. The. Keys. That first mouthful offsets the cheerless service that you’ve just received.

Not great, over rated. We had the frozen pie pops and the merengue, and they were so sweet we couldn’t finish them.

We tried many Key Lime pies while in the Keys. We also did a Key Lime pie crawl. Kermit’s was our least favorite! Blonde Giraffe was our favorite! We did a Key Lime pie judging contest in Key West which turned out to be fake and all set up who the winner would be. We were told ahead of time and afterwards as well by local business owners who the winner would be «allegedly». The contest was inside with no air conditioning and it was at least 98 degrees. The real fee temperature was 106 or something similar. The contest was set up we didn’t get the 5 slices we were promised but a spoonful only. It was unprofessional and disorganized. There was also no way to remember which pie we liked best to vote on it. It was the biggest disappointment of our trip and it happened to be on our anniversary. We tried a few locations of Kermit’s Key Lime pie which is said to be the«best» but the pies are shipped in from the mainland in Florida. They are not made on site and we got a picture of the delivery of pies. Kermit’s pies taste like an essence of Lime not full flavor. Not even sure if it was true key Lime. It tastes like jello! I was quite disappointed. You can call it the«best» but my taste buds do not lie! We were told by local business owners that no locals eat Kermit’s that it is a concerted effort to get the cruise ships to stop in to say they have had Key Lime pie. Kermit’s always gets voted best as a marketing scheme. People keep reviewing them as best and they have not tried many and just seem to go along with the crowd. Kermit was the inventor of Key Lime Pie on a stick and used to be better we were told. So our favorite(me and my hubby who have different tastes from each other) both agree the best was the Blonde Giraffe. In addition several business owners(some who own restaurants some who own souvenir stores) agree The Blonde Giraffe is the best Some say they like Fogarty’s some like Blue Heaven. But none of the locals like Kermit’s. Blonde Giraffe pie was perfect! The limeade was so incredibly refreshing! I can still remember clearly the taste and we went July of 2015! I understand there is a story behind the name but honestly I would have a different name. But they are known by that name now. It is amazing! try it driving down the Keys. Your taste buds will thank me!

Super creamy key lime pie! One of the best I have had in a long time! Super cute little shop, clean with lots of key lime goodies! Key lime cookies, candies and chocolates! Marinades, jellies and dressings too! Adorable owners at the cash register! Grandmas recipe, don’t miss this!

My travel goals for the Keys included finding an awesome little place that serves up the best Key Lime Pie… mission accomplished! If I’m not mistaken, the pie had an almost cheesecake-like consistency and taste, which I found very agreeable! Creamy and delicious, they also had other varieties and flavors available.

The best key lime pie The worse customer service Upon entrance, we asked to use the restroom. We were pointed towards a paper to read. I thought it was a joke but the uncomfortable silence by whom we think is the owner let us know that we had to read the taped paper in front of us. The paper read. «the restroom is for paying customers. Do t leave your kid unattended. The code will be displayed in your receipt». Who changes the bathroom code very 30 min? Why wouldn’t you tell me that instead of making me feel that I did something wrong for wanting to use the bathroom? It’s a shame that rude people work here because this is the best key lime pie you will ever find.

We popped in here on the way back up from a beach barbeque to grab a key lime pie for Easter dinner. Of course that is not the only thing we got. We also got the key lime flavored yogurt pretzels and a slice of the chocolate drizzled pie with whipped cream. As stated earlier, we grabbed an entire meringue pie that they were nice enough to give us frozen so it would survive the drive back up to N Dade. The pretzels were good as was the slice. I will say that the whole pie was by far the best of the bunch. The pie had a better consistency than the slice. Don’t get me wrong, the slice was definitely good, I’m just saying the whole pie was better. It had a nice tartness to it with a good crust. I’ve had a lot of key lime pie in the keys in my day and this version is definitely above average. We would come back for sure.

Such a cute place! The perfect spot to have a slice of key lime pie after the drive from Key West. The whipped cream was whipped to perfection, the key lime filling was fresh, and the pie crust tied everything together. I even bought some key lime cookies for my Family & Friends in Chicago!

I have had key lime pie at a couple places in the Keys, and Blond Giraffe Key Lime Pie Factory has real tangy flavors and feels most authentic. They also sell many key lime products including the key lime juice that has a recipe on the bottle to make your own key lime pie at home!

It’s pretty simple: they make good key lime pie, their shop is very clean and has a nice, «casual keys» vibe to it. I’m not sure why they no longer have their Key West location, and I have heard that the pies taste different in this Tavernier store(and maybe this is true), but to me they hit the spot. For one, they are pleasantly tart(but not bitter) and also not overly sugary. Making key lime pies too sweet, I feel, a common mistake when making the famous treat. Another pro-tip: if a key lime pie is green, it’s probably not great, as that’s a result of food coloring and not the result of the ingredients. The pies at Blond Giraffe are the proper yellow. They also create a proper graham cracker crust. They also provide a variety of preparations, including the version with merengue top crust, as well as «naked» — just the pie itself without the various goo. In the case, there are variations for every taste(as long as it’s for key lime pie of some kind!). Also on tap is a frozen ‘key lime pie on a stick’ that seems to be popular, but which I have never tried. While you eat, you can educate yourself on the history and botany of the key lime as well as the origins of the recipe, courtesy of a cool set of informational posters. On the opposite wall is a table filled with little key lime and keys themed tchotchkes you can pick-up. The interior is bright green, as are the chairs. Overall, it’s cute and well-maintained. Worth a visit.

YESSS! We had been craving Key Lime Pie’s all weekend and the Blond Giraffe was our saving grace! The owners Roberto and Tania were there behind the counter and were a pleasure to chat with. As lovely as they were, the pie is what wee came for. and it was AMAZING! Our slice of key lime with chocolate drizzle was inhaled. They also offer latte, expresso, and other coffees and their own key lime salt scrub and products. Blond Graffe is a must, otherwise it’s like you weren’t even in the keys!

We stopped here because of the amazing reviews. This cute little shop is family owned and adorable! It is small but ridiculously clean and organized. There are wonderful displays of key lime juice, candies and other goodies that are key lime. Unfortunately, there was a lady in front of us in line who ended up buying 6 bags of fresh ground coffee, so we had to wait while each bag was ground and filled. I think the other owner was in the back, so it was just the one person in front. No biggie, as we weren’t in a rush to get home. I had a bottle of the key lime juice(which also has a nice key lime recipe on it), and a slice of «naked» key lime pie. I figured the pie will be sweet enough without whipped cream or meringue :) A group came in while I was patiently waiting and tried to slide in between me and the lady in front of me, so I had to stand my ground p– otherwise I’d be waiting much longer… My turn came and I jumped to it luckily, lol. We ate the pie outside at one of the cute tables. It was good. I honestly can say I’ve had better, but it was very good. No complaints :) I haven’t had a slice anywhere else on the keys, so I can’t compare it to other locations, but I did enjoy the cleanliness and the price.

~Off the Florida Keysssssssss there’s a place called Kokomo~ ~That’s where you wanna go to get away from it all~ *enter tropical bahama xylophone* But off Islamorada, a couple miles away from the Key Largo, there’s a place that serves frozen Key Lime pies. covered in chocolate. on a stick. ~That’s where you wanna gooo to get your Key Lime fix~ I also had to get their original Key Lime pie(with merengue) and it was amazing. Key Limes were first cultivated in the Keys, so why not try all the forms of Key Lime Pies here. Key Largo, Montego, baby why don’t we go? (source: )

You must stop here. This is the best key lime pie I have ever had and I’m from Florida. If you are coming from Miami, it will be on the right side as you are headed to Key West. If you’re coming down from Key West it’s just on the left right before you leave key Largo. They have key lime pie’s in different ways but they are all the same ingredients in the pie part. What I mean is you could have it «naked» where it is just the key lime pie or with whip cream! The staff is very friendly and the owners I think are from Brazil. They also have other things other than Keylime pie such as coffee and other good desserts. Some people had key lime meringues and said they were unbelievably delicious. I would like to go back there and try those again. Once again, this was the best Keylime pie I have ever tried and worth stopping in here too.

Nice little pit stop either on the way or the way back to/from key West. The options include: Key Lime w/Chocolate Drizzle Key Lime w/Meringue Key Lime w/Whip Cream Key lime Dipped in Chocolate and frozen(Served on a stick) They also have a bunch of little boutique gourmet items such as key lime olive oil and a variety of jams/marinades/and etc. Cute little spot to check out. One bad thing: Unfortunately the bathroom consisted of a port-a-potty out back YUCK Hopefully that is just due some needed maintenance and will be resolved soon? I hope.

Key lime pie on a stick: Never ever seen this before. It’s basically key lime pie dipped in chocolate and sold on a stick like ice cream. This is a must try, highly recommend. The chocolate and key lime pie combo is out of this world. — Key lime pie: Excellent key lime pie. sweet and tart. Simply awesome. There is a thick layer of meringue on top of the actual pie. –Key lime pie cookies: Never seen or heard of key lime pie cookies before so I had to buy them. They remind me of the cookies that come in the little bags when you were a little kid for lunch or snack. They were good, definitely taste the key lime pie tartness. These were hard cookies by nature, not your soft gooey cookies. These are worth a try, I did enjoy them. I’d give these a 4 out of 5 though.

I made a stop while on the road. Arrived a few minutes before closing time. The staff member available(female) was not at store front, she was somewhere in the back, I assume wrapping up for the day. Picked up a frozen pie(no toppings) it was about $ 19. Family and I shared the pie, once we got to the room — 30 mins later. The constancy of it was good, just very sweet. I love sweet things, but this pie tasted as if they had added too much lime, and then decided to add more sugar to even it out, so basically — too much of everything. Maybe whip cream would have evened it out? I don’t know, point is, it should taste good, even without toppings. Was it the worst KLP? no, but I didnt find it to be «award winning». Staff could have also been more welcoming. Gift store was closed. They did have a few marinades available for purchase, which is a nice touch. Place looked clean, despite it being closing time. I will return again, and try a different type, see how that goes.
