Came here last weekend for breakfast and wasnt very impressed. Our waitress came to the table and told my boyfriend and I about their brunch drink specials. Bloody Marys and Mimosas. Awesome! I ordered a Bloody Mary and my boyfriend, who is 34(and balding) also ordered one but was refused after being carded for not carrying his ID. Seriously? Rude. My drink comes… decent. No complaints there or with the food.(Granted, its not very hard to screw an omelette up.) Overall, the food is decent. Nothing to write home about. I personally enjoy the dive Taylor Café better for breakfast.(A lot cheaper too!)

This is a review of breakfast only but I would totally consider coming back for lunch or dinner. The places is pretty modern and has a bar in an area that I’m told was added on. The waitstaff was super friendly and although my last visit was Christmas Eve morning and the place was hopping nobody’s coffee cup sat empty. I have a love hate relationship with sausage gravy, I love it when it’s done right but hate the way most places butcher it to make it taste like a thick floury paste. I thought the country omelette sounded good but was afraid of the gravy. I asked for a small sample and the waitress kindly brought out a very generous tasting… and it was great! That omelette was HUGE! The others at the table ordered one of the breakfast specials — a great deal if you’re there by 11:00. The waitress offered coffees to go for those interested and even said to stop by the counter on the way out and get the cup topped off. That was above and beyond. Such gracious service, I will be back!

I was kind of excited to be going here for dinner. We haven’t been in a long time and I wanted to see what the renovation looked like. And it looks great. I wasn’t too hungry, and many of the reviews mentioned that the baked potato soup was really good. So that with an order of pretzel sticks, I thought I would have a filling dinner. If you have looked at any of my reviews, you know that I don’t go in for«fine» dining. My husband and I eat. We go out to eat. Baked potato soup? What I was given was a bowl of soup that simmered so long, the potatoes disintegrated into a bowl of potato paste, with about a teaspoon of bacon bits thrown in. No flavor, only a vague ghost of a potato flavor. Such a disappointment. Our server tried to make it right. She offered me something else, a different soup, the same soup from the newer batch… wait, I was served old soup? Really? What the heck? I ended up getting it to go for lunch today. And because I was curious, I tried it when I got home. Same bland soup, although this had recognizable potatoes. The only thing that I can say good was that the soup wasn’t salty. My husband’s boasted chicken dinner looked and smelled good. But this is my review. After this experience, I might feel better about Ram’s Horn.

Pete’s place gets two stars, not because the food, which was average, but because the service was lacking. Strike 1 — Upon entering, we ask for a table for 5. The hostess said there were no tables and that there would be a 20 minute wait, despite there being SEVERAL available tables. My friend pointed out one of the tables that was open. The waitress sat us there. Strike 2 — Poor service. I usually get water when I go out to eat because I’m cheap, but when I get soda, I’m sure to drink at least two cups full. Most of our cups were empty for half of the dinner because the waitress was inattentive. Once she was spotted and asked for a refill, she brought them out, but good service knows to keep an eye on this. Strike 3 — My friend and her husband order the same Greek salad, one with meat. His comes with a piece of garlic bread. Hers does not. She ask the waitress for a piece of garlic bread. This is where is gets hairy. So the menu states that ALL items in the salad section come with garlic bread. The description of the Greek salad said it comes with pita chips(NOT in lieu of garlic break). The waitress sat there and READTHEMENU to my friend to make her point. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Everyone at the table was very literate. We can read and comprehend just fine. What’s the point in reading when you’re still wrong? Most importantly, it’s a damn piece of garlic bread. Good customer service just brings out the garlic bread and keeps it moving. Strike 4 — While I was happy with my food, those who ordered salads were not. The tomatoes weren’t ripe. The lettuce were old. They were overall unpleased. I had the grilled mahi mahi with wild rice. A little overcooked, but good flavor. Needless to say, I will probably never go back to Pete’s place. I don’t live in the Detroit area, so it’s no skin off my back or theirs. They just need to step it up on the customer service end.

I used to love this place but things have changed. They’re strongest point in my opinion is still breakfast. For dinner, I would suggest you keep on moving…

Terrible customer service! I took my parents here for lunch and my card was double charged for our meal. I called back to get the issue corrected that same day and they took down my number and said they would call me right back. They never did. I called the next day and they told me they wouldn’t be able to help me because there was no management in in Sunday’s. I find this hard to believe because I don’t think the restaurant would be open if there was no one in charge. After writing this review I will be reporting this business to the better business bureau, my credit card company, and I’ll post a blog that on the local news site. Please do not go to this restaurant and support anyone who is willing to do business this way.

Never had a meal you’re at in like. The portions are huge the price is great staff is friendly. And now they serve alcohol it looks like they got about 30 – 40 beers on tap. Now I can get an omelette and a great Michigan beer where else can you do that. We don’t get to the area that often anymore since we moved. But I’m sure glad we stopped in.

First I want to say I LOVE Pete’s Place in Brownstown on Telegraph. We decided to try the Taylor location today and really wish I had gone back to Brownstown. We did come in just after lunch rush as tables were emptying out so maybe it was a «rest» time. It took forever to see service and after finally getting our iced tea(which was never refilled entire time) we waited another 20 minutes to give our order for Cobb salads. The salads were not up to par today. Chicken looks great in my pix but was so dry from overcooking as was the HB egg. Chicken was impossible to cut. Bacon was sadly very limited. And the lettuce was very wet. After saying all that I can still say the salad had good flavor, just disappointed in what I come to expect from Pete’s. Going to stick to the smaller Pete’s.

Awful! The breakfast was TERRIBLE and overpriced! Dry, over-cooked scrambled eggs and sausage. My husband and mother ordered over-easy eggs, and received eggs that were over-hard. I can see why they are advertising on their outside sign for a cook… the one who cooks breakfast needs to go!!! It took ½ hour to get our food for 4 people. The place wasn’t even busy during breakfast, and I can see why. It was by far, the WORST breakfast I have ever had. No wonder the waitress never came by to ask how things were, she probably knew the answer… ABYSMAL! We will NOT return… BLECH!!!

Stopped in here for a quick burger. Looks like they have a huge beer selection but I was only drinking soda this time Ordered the bacon cheese burger. This is a ½ lb burger. It was huge. I could not finish it. Ordered medium and it was one of the juiciest burgers that I have had in a long time. Knocked a star off for the cheese. They just threw a slice of American on the top. Lastly, it could have used a little more seasoning when put on the grill to add in the flavor. Overall good and would return if I back this way. Nikki who took care of us was very nice and checked on us just the right amount of times.

I was a little hesitant walking into the place the other day but the friend i was with said it was decent so i placed some faith and took a seat. The beer selection was awesome(four different short’s brews on tap) and the happy hour specials were not bad either. I ordered the dinty moore sandwich with fries and a house salad. The salad was incredibly fresh and the croutons were really tasty. The sandwich was also delicious, however they put on a lot more slaw than corned beef, I get really ocd about ratios when it comes to sandwiches. Another minus was the pop music they were blasting. Granted we were seated right under a speaker but I had to raise my voice a little just to talk to my friend sitting right across from me so he could hear me over the song«toxic» by brittany spears. Oh well. Our server was very kind and was quick with our orders. All in all i enjoyed the place and I would recommend it.

I’ve been critical of Pete’s Place in the past and swore off revisiting. That changed when they expanded their restaurant to include a bar area with 40 taps. I’ve visited several times and always sit at the bar. There are a few TVs and music playing as well. The beer prices are reasonable, ranging between $ 4.50 to $ 7 depending on ABV. They’ll also fill growlers if you want some beer to go. For those who like saving cash, Pete’s Place has a pretty good Happy Hour: Monday through Friday from 4−6pm and 9 — close every day. You’ll score $ 1 off craft pints, $ 1 off large domestics, $ 3 house wines, $ 3 wells, $ 5 signature martinis and half off appetizers. We’ve ordered food a few times with delicious results. I’m happy to be a Pete’s Place customer now.

I haven’t actually dined in at Pete’s Place in years– so I figured it was time for me to update my review. I went in as a group of 4 on Saturday night during March Madness after 5p. Suprisingly, there wasn’t a wait at the door and we were sat quickly. Server provided us with their updated draft list, and I was quick to order the perogis for the table. These are by no means Polish level perogis– and they are fried, so they could just be from a box, but something fried and dipped in ranch tastes good to me! Of course, I over-ordered as usual– however, my soup and salad were tasty– they always get that right. Our main courses were too large for all of us(as usual) and we ended up stuffed. After dinner, we had ordered a pitcher of margaritas– which was a carafe full of ice and then the drink poured over top. They also had given us 4 glasses, also filled with ice. The drink was okay, but the amount of ice between our glasses and the carafe probably watered down the drink a good bit. Even though Pete’s Place wasn’t busy for a Saturday night, the server was eager to drop our check, so we ended up just going somewhere else for more drinks/food.

After a friend ate here a few days ago, I decided on give it another shot. The food was much better this time around, although still not *awesome* per say. The loaded potato soup is something they’re famous for and rightfully so. Pierogi’s were delicious, as were their homemade potato chips. The chicken on my chicken Caesar salad left much to be desired, though. Dry and not much flavor. Finally, the service is still not great. No kids menus, so we were told to ask the waitress. The waitress knew nothing about the kids menu. The food took FOREVER to come out — my 4 year old was actually in tears because we waited so long and she was starving. Drink refills were hard to come by, and the waitress looked annoyed whenever we asked. It always seem like the wait staff is brand new, and they’re also young, it never feels like they have any clue how to wait a table, especially when the restaurant is busy. They’re were just scrambling.

The first thing I must say is the service is very slow and be prepared to ask a few times for the server to correct your order. Many of the waitresses also have bad attitudes especially the head waitress/manager. She has been there for years and is probably related to the owner. Regardless they need to cut her loose. Management sets the tone for the employees and the tone here desperately needs to change. With that being said, the food is pretty good and in generous portions. Their bean and ham soup is excellent and sandwiches are very good as well. They also offer michigan craft beer selections and a decent happy hour mon-fri 4−6pm. They only draw back is the service, which starts with management. I think if they brought in a new manager that things could turn around. No one likes a waitress with a bad attitude with mediocre service. That is why I gave a 3 star rating.

I’ve been eating here since I was kid. They have awsome food. You must have their loaded baked potato soup! Love their buffalo Cobb salad too. Unfortunately their wait staff SUCKS! I meet my husband here at least once a week for lunch. We’ve stood waiting to be seated for up to 10 min while countless wait staff walk by. Once seated and you’ve eaten, it takes forever to get your bill… it’s hard when your on your lunch hour. I will keep coming back because they do have good food. but man, they need better waitresses.

This was our first time coming to this place. And they wowed us with our first impression. The décor was nice. The restaurant was well maintained and clean. Our server was friendly, personable, professional and timely. She was definitely on point at all times. She knew the menu and was able to advise us on what foods we’d enjoy. And she was right. And we will be back. My wife tried the gyros omelet. She said that it was the best in the area that she had ever had. The eggs were fluffy. The omelet was well filled and filling. The ingredients were all fresh. And it was nicely seasoned. I had the deluxe gyro wrap. It was full of fresh ingredients. Unlike some places, the flat bread was fresh. Every ingredient was flavorful. It was large and filling. It was a delight to eat. It was one of the best in the area as well.

Came here because I was in the area. I would really say this place is a 3.5 star review, but will go with 3 stars. There is two positives to this place: their beer and fries. They have about 30 – 35 different beers on tap, which always wins you points in my book and their fries are some really really good fries and must haves. I had three other things here: gyro(average), wings(buffalo sauce is average, garlic Parmesan is nasty and horrible), and Caesar salad(also average). Overall it’s a ok place, I would maybe come here to the bar and watch one of their tv’s, but the jury is still out on the food as a whole.
