Not bad, Walked in ordered two cheesesteak subs, took about 5 minutes or so for them to make them. Been there twice same service, pricing isn’t bad and no problems at all. I’m not one to seek problems but if there ever is one I’ll post it here

Had my ATM card information stolen at this location last night. Whomever stole my information used my card for $ 75.78 at Whole Foods in Detroit. Beware of this location and use cash if you absolutely must visit this establishment.

I have now been here several times on different times of the days and different days of the week and weekend. I completely take back my first comment. I’ve walked in and ordered however i dont recommend that what so ever because of the ridiculous wait. I usually call ahead first. Expect to wait 45 minutes from the time you place your order whether or not call ahead. If you walk in make it an hour sometimes. If you want food fast… this is NOT the place to go. The food is good but only an occasional stop for me because of the crazy long wait. I would never go out of my way to get a sub from here. This doesn’t apply to the Belleville location. They seem to have it together and a lot of them are high school students. lol

Went here twice, the first time I had ordered a steak and cheese double meat plain and a Ruben. Both were to go. When I got home which was only about a 5 – 10 minute drive I opened them both up and was so upset! My steak and cheese was far from loaded with meat, it had the same amount that the Ruben had, and it was packed with onions, lettuce, and sauce. I guess the only thing they left off was the tomatoes. So I move over to my Ruben, it looked delicious so I take a giant bite, and it tastes odd, I couldn’t put my finger on it but it wasn’t right. Of course I took one more bite and that’s when I figured it out. They put Italian dressing on a Ruben. I was so grossed out I could’ve puked. So I called and the guy that answered argued with me on the phone that this was the correct way to make a Ruben. I told him I have eaten a million of them and I’ve heard of thousand island dressing or French but never Italian, not with sauerkraut. That’s just all kinds of wrong. So as I’m not winning that argument I proceed to let him know about my steak sub. He says nothing, I said ok, I guess I’m just at a loss here. Needless to say they both went in the trash. About two months later I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again, of course this time I went for Ham and cheese –plain. It wasn’t bad but it was far from great. Not worth the money. I’d rather order from a pizza shop. The bun was very dry and they don’t give you much meat for their prices.

Bad service, bad food, employees kids running around the kitchen. I feel bad for the legitimate Captain Nemo’s where they stole the name from, since most people will associate them. Absolutely garbage.

I placed my order by phone so I can just pick it up and be on my way. Seems simple enough right? Nah, still had to wait and I was the only customer in the place. Once I walked in I noticed not one light on in the establishment and the employee had her three small kids there with her boyfriend/husband. She asked if I had been helped knowing that she was the only employee there. It was like I was a bother to take care of breaking up he family time. I’m sorry but when I clock in I’m there to work. I went the week of the opening and not one person was trained, so I figured I’ll return when the skills get established but after today I’ll never return although the subs are pretty good but for $ 10 and some change I most certainly hope a sub would be good!

I used to frequent the Captain Nemo’s in Inkster until it moved to Wayne. Now, I frequent the Wayne location. Unfortunately for this place, I could not help but to compare. I ordered the 16″ corned beef sub. The onions and tomatoes were fresh. The bun was toasted nicely. I have to rate this place lower than I would the Wayne location though for one very important reason. They over cooked the meat and rendered out most of the juice. The meat is the star of the submarine sandwich. And they got everything right except the star. It made the sandwich a bit more bland and dry than I what I have come to expect from a Captain Nemo. The reason why I didn’t rate this place lower is that the problem is nothing major. The cook just needs to remember that when an ingredient is in the name of the sandwich you want to make it shine as the star.

I also noticed a table of employees/owners sitting over in the corner. I ordered a Steak & Cheese with high hopes, as I used to frequent Captain Nemo’s in Romulus, when I worked in the area 15+ years ago. On to the sub, Way to much bread to meat ratio, they used ground meat instead of shaved steak, meat really bland, could not taste any cheese. I do think the bun is a good quality bun, it just needs to be filled with quality ingredients. Might have to make the trip to Romulus to have one like I remember.

This place better get it together or else it won’t make it another year. In the thirty minutes I waited for my food, I experienced the following: –a little girl(4 – 5) wandering back and forth from the dining area where she was eating French fries to the back of the cook/prep area. — an employee, presumably mother of little girl, also walking back and forth to the dining area and prep area, also while eating fries. — same employee being told to move so that a family could have her table. She moved her food to a smaller table and then grabbed a wet towel to wipe off the bigger table for the family. This would normally be considered a good thing but she failed to wash her hands before grabbing the towel and didn’t rinse the towel first. — a manager trying to placate the increasingly irritating group of customers by passing out cups to get free drinks. Food was meh, not nearly as good as Romulus. Meat too salty and too much bread. Bummer.c

To say they have some work to do is an understatement 5:15 pm: Been waiting 20 minutes for my sandwich. Im watching a worker sit down drinking a pop and texting on his phone while there are 5 people waiting for food 5:30 pm: it’s freezing cold in here, they just turned the lights on inside and There are 10 customers sitting down with no food in front of them. Texting kid is walking around aimlessly doesn’t appear to be doing anything. This better be the best sandwich ever 5:47pm: finally Got my sandwich. Over an hour after I walked in. Bla. Hardly any steak. All bread. While sitting here waiting I had a chance to read the other Unilocal reviews and apparently this one is not associated with the other Capt. Nemos? He should sue these guys because they really give it a bad name. Negative10 stars

This location is NOT affiliated with Romulus or Belleville Captain Nemo’s. They copied the menu and stole the name! DONOTSUPPORTTHISBUSINESS! They did not buy the rights to use the Captain Nemo’s name. John Brimble worked for 40 years to have a successful product and business and they STOLEIT. Go to the real family owned Captain Nemo’s: Romulus and Belleville

My wife and I have been sitting here for almost 40 minutes waiting for our order, which is way too long if you ask me. I’ve noticed that call ahead orders take priority over walk in orders as call ahead orders seem to come in and out as we sit and wait. I’ll update after we try the food, which had better be the best cheesesteak subs on earth for this kind of wait. The store does seem clean, but the dining room constantly smells like the kitchen and I assume we’ll leave smelling like fry grease. After an hour of waiting we asked how much longer our food would be and we were told that they were just starting to get our food made! We got our food an hour and fifteen minutes after we ordered. Some of the staff had to go to GFS to get more food and the grill cook needed to have his headphones adjusted by the girl taking orders. The two going on the shopping trip didn’t even take off their aprons and one lit a cigarette as she stepped outside. The food was sub par(no pun intended) and our philly«cheese“steak subs were basically salty ground beef with tomatoes and a wimpy sprinkling of lettuce. The full inch of untopped bread at each end of the loaf didn’t taste like anything. Ordered fries and mozzarella sticks. The fries tasted like they had been thawed and re-frozen before being fried in old oil and we only got 4 of the 6 mozzarella sticks we paid for! The breading on the sticks was unseasoned and the marinara didn’t help much either. Don’t waste your time. There’s a Subway at Telegraph and Wick. The food is faster and actually better.

Ordere 18inch Hot Steak and Cheese everything on it, Hot Italian Special, Cold d Amazing! You will find your taste buds will melt or if you have had in the past it will revisit the good olé Captain Nemos you are used too! Their Romulus location has been there for 60 years(5 points) and I do not have the opportunity to make it there too often. Thank you for adding this to my top sub shop Downriver! Staff was super friendly and food was amazing! A++
