They have free wifi so that’s great! The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. It’s your typical small town restaurant where most the people know one another and the service is very polite.

The Town Square Café is locally owned and ran by good people who serve good food at reasonable prices. Breakfast is served all day if requested. Excellent pancakes and waffles. Omelets any way you want them. Lunches and sandwiches are prepared fresh when ordered. Pizzas are also available. Plate lunch served each day with fresh produce and some days fresh pastry is also prepared. You won’t be served by better people anywhere. While small, the café overcomes its size with good food, good people and small town charm. I always have breakfast there when I visit the area.

Does Tellico have health inspection? There’s no way! This is the filthiest restaurant I’ve ever been in. The giant holes in the seats should’ve been an indication, but I was starving and it seemed as though the town is closed on Sundays. I will say that the tattered menu is extensive on the breakfast side, which they serve all day. I ordered the the country fried steak meal and asked for the gravy on the side. It had an odd, Spamlike taste. The eggs that I ordered over medium were under the pile of greasy pile of hashbrowns. It’s official, they hate to clean AND do dishes. Seriously, why else would they pile the hashbrowns on the eggs? I very rarely leave food on my plate, but here… Finally… the bathroom: this was the worst bathroom that I’ve ever attempted to use. I’ll spare you and leave it at that. Considering that I had to go through two doors to get to it, I decided to wash my hands once I got in the bathroom. I literally gagged while washing my hands… it was that bad.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. I was with a friend who has eaten many times at the Town Square, but I was suspicious. The interior is great — well decorated with interesting items of days past. We were greeted and seated immediately, and both ordered country-fried steak. I had fried okra and sweet potato fries. I can state these were the best I have ever had. My partner had a double helping of the okra. The corn bread muffin was not quite up to the amazing level of the other dishes, but was still good. Who knew okra could be fantastic? If there is a down side, it’s just that they close at 2:30. This place is amazing! As Arnie says, «Ahl be bock.»

I saw the reviews for this bakery online before I went on a trip to Tellico Plains with my family, and wanted to check it out. The woman serving us was very nice and helpful, and the place was charming and clean. We got coffee, quiche, a blueberry danish, and a peach scone for breakfast. We loved it, and wanted to sample everything after! We took a cherry turnover, oatmeal cookie, and coconut cookie to go. They were fantastic! We’re definitely going back for more! Highly recamended!

This place has never made me just stop and say,“WoW!” I try to patronize them once a year just so I can give visitors an honest opinion. They just need something… Seasoning? Cleaning? Maybe a smile would help once in a while? I am just not their largest fan.

This place is a diamond in the rough. The guy who makes the food is not a cook but a chef. I have been all over the US and tasted all kinds of food and can tell you he makes the best western omelets I have ever had… consistently. You can get breakfast all day. It may not look like much from the inside or the outside but the food is excellent. Free wifi is nice, too. I don’t know what brought this chef to a tiny little town in east Tennessee but I hope he stays. The location on the map is WAY off. Town Square Café & Bakery is downtown in Tellico Plains, next to the hardware store.
