Grilled Cheese Cart

Da-​freaking-​licious is the only word to describe this place. Awesome gluten free options, incredible creations. This picture is a gluten free white cheddar sandwich with bacon, drenched in maple syrup. After a 4 hour hike, this was unbelievable!

As a grilled cheese lover I have pretty high expectations when it comes to my beloved bread and cheese combo, but this cart came through. We were in Telluride for a few days, and managed to stop at this cart every day at some point.
We tried several different types of grilled cheese; including the breakfast grilled cheese which seemed like an odd combo of a ham and cheese with syrup, but was delicious! And make sure to ask what the daily special is: on Fridays it is a tuna melt which is TO DIE FOR.
The woman who runs the cart is one of the friendliest people you will meet in Telluride. She would say hello when we passed by on the street and gave us some great touristing advice. The sandwiches themselves are a bit pricy, but then again, what isn’t pricy in Telluride.

YUM! The Grilled Cheese Cart is a must. Its super delicious and worth the price! One of the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had. variety of choices. I like the swiss and tomato.
I will stop here every time I see the Cart out.

We smelled this cart from a block away! Wanted to stop and try a grilled cheese since we were cold from the rain /​snow and hungry, but the line was too long! We decided we would come back the next day. So as we were heading out of town, we remembered we never went back and flipped a U turn to go back. They were $ 6 each for a basic grilled cheese, but let me tell you, they were amazing! As we were having her cook our food, other people stopped due to the delicious smell — the same as we did the first day :) Lovely woman running the cart. She was very pleasant and friendly. I can see why she does so well.

The grilled cheese sandwiches were tasty. If you add bacon, you get bacon bits, which is disappointing. The reason for giving ³⁄₅ stars is because these grilled cheese are just way too expensive for what you get. At ²⁄₃ to ½ of the price, I would have given 5 stars. Overhead on a food cart is pretty minimal, so I’m sure the friendly lady that runs it is making some pretty good money on it. The price is just too high for something so basic out of a food cart. I doubt I’ll be back.

A favorite stop after a hike. My favorite is the grilled apricot and Brie. Kids love the cheddar and bacon. Prices reasonable given the location.

This stand was a find. Wife had a grilled cheese with bacon, loved it.
Decent price too, given the high prices in Telluride.
I’d try it next time. A variety of cheeses and options are available.
