I usually go to a Mexican place down the street but they were closed for some particular reason so I decided to come here since I was really hungry and about to go on a long drive. I ordered my staple, I California burrito and boy was I disappointed. The carne asada meat was really dry and seemed to lack any real flavor. It was bland as can be. The French fries were also not crispy and didn’t seem to be cooked all the way through. I usually finish my burritos but half way through this one I had to throw in the towel.

1/8/2014-I am pretty dissapointed. I’ve been coming here as a regular for lunch. Came in today to order my usual but a different cashier lady was working the register, a younger cashier. And a different cook. Cashier lady was sitting in the corner eating when I walked in. First, she took my order down wrong and when I brought it back to her, she threw my tray on the back counter in front of the three customers that were placing their orders after me. Sat down to wait for my correct order and had to wait until everyone who placed their orders after me got their order first. Finally got my order, only to get my tacos half filled. I asked what happened to the regular cashier and cook as I was just in a couple of weeks ago, she told me they didn’t work there anymore because of the drive. Its a shame because the older cook made sure to fill my tacos. I will try to include a pic of half filled tacos. What made this experience worse is that my drink spilled and when I asked for napkins to wipe it up, she didn’t give me enough. I had to wait for her twice to get more until she finally threw a wet rag that smelled like bleach to me to wipe it up. This is the last time I am eating here.

I didn’t really like my burrito but it was enormous as well as inexpensive. I would like to try their rolled tacos because inexpensive tacos are hard to find in this city. They have the creamy guacamole. with sour cream mixed in and I don’t really like that. The place is nice and the people were friendly. My boyfriend really liked it, but I thought the meat was dry and crisp and the fries in my California burrito weren’t cooked enough. I intend on giving it another shot but I have definitely had better.

This place looks like the owners are just squatting in the restaurant that was here before. We came here at 7:30 and stood outside for 5 minutes until we decided to call because the open signs weren’t on. Apparently they are open 7a-10p but you wouldn’t know by looking at the place. When we finally went in, the place was still painted with sayings and the«wall of fame» from Johnny’s Lunch House? Apparently this was the restaurant that was here before this one opened and they couldn’t afford paint to make it their own. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and a soda from the fountain. The soda machine didn’t even have ice, when we told the lady she said«oh yeah that has been broken» and gave us ice from a bucket. When I finally got my quesadilla she threw it on the counter and told us it was ready, kind of weird that she didn’t bother to bring it out to us since we were THEONLY people in the place. When we got back to our seats and opened the box the quesadilla looked more like a giant taco than anything else. there was pretty much no cheese in it and nothing but small chunks on Carne Asada that was less than flavorful. I agree that this is a great location to open a Mexican fast food restaurant and I honestly hope that these guys can get it together and make this place great before they lose customers. Two stars because everything was clean including the tables and the bathrooms.

FINALLY… a close Mexican food restaurant to my work that’s actually good! I stopped by because I saw on their menu they had Carne Asada burritos for 4.99… which is pretty damn competitive for the area. Burrito was standard… Carne Asada, guacamole, and pico de gallo salsa. The meat was a bit overcooked, but still tasty… Guacamole was excellent… none of that runny saucy stuff, but the salsa bar was missing extra pico salsa :( Horchata is good, but refills are 75 cents… overall, still a good place for Mexican food. I’m excited to continue going to this place to see if they’re consistent.
