Hart Winery Review — November 18, 2015 (Scale of 1 – 5, with 5 being the MOST family-friendly and 1 being the LEAST) Quality & Location of Parking Lot — 4.00 Quality of picnic or play area — 3.00 Quality & Cleanliness of the bathrooms — 4.00 Level of entertainment for kids — 2.40 How family-friendly is the winery? — 3.20 How easy was it to move around with a stroller? — 3.20 OVERALLRATING — 3.30 Mommy Reviews: «Parking lot is small so you might not find a spot if it’s too busy. There are a lot of great picnic tables and about half in shade. The non shaded are bordered by a rock wall kids love to climb. Not so good for 3 and under in that regard.» «Hart is a great little winery to visit even with kids in tow. There’s not a ton of space for them to run around but they enjoyed playing in all of the leaves and walking on the retaining wall. It was a little harder for the moms with the young toddlers. There’s plenty of of picnic tables and the view is beautiful especially at sunset. The parking lot is small but very close by. In fact, so close you do need to make sure the kids don’t wander into it. There aren’t any steps so bringing a stroller is no problem. The bathrooms are small but they are accessible from the outside so you don’t need to walk through the winery with the kids. The tasting room is right next to the picnic area so its no problem to go back and forth to do a tasting. The staff was very nice and we had a great time as did all of the kids!» «Not my favorite winery.» «Nice place but not much of an area for the kids to play.» «Not the best for kids.»

Excellent red wines. Nothing too sweet and fruity. Greg is an excellent host. Couldn’t be more friendly. Definitely check this place out if in the area.

Simply. Amazing. If you like good wine and are in Temecula, do yourself a favor and spend some time here at Hart.

Happy to be a member. Some more great pours and varietals by Hart! My favorite winery in Temecula. Small production so if you taste something you enjoy, buy it while you can! After drinking some side by side with other wineries Hart is the best producer in Temecula in my opinion. Can’t wait to get up to Julian to try Volcan!

Got there at 430 and they wouldn’t serve us. Their own signs says close at 5. Business suicide, will never go again.

First stop, Hart! Yupp, this is exactly the first winery as you drive down Rancho California Road. Unless you’re driving like a road runner, there’s no way you can miss this. Hart is not extravagent nor the biggest of wineries. But it does offer a homely feel. Hart Winery, owned of course by the Hart family. I can definitely feel the love put in to this winery as the staff was very welcoming. They were nice and really appreciative and it showed through their service. $ 15 for 6 tastings and to keep the glass. Their wines definitely lasted an impression. My favorite: Tres Hermanos. A blend of different reds. Their only dessert wine was a Port. I’m not a Port person, so I was a bit disappointed to not find a Moscato or Presecco. The scenery is great, but make sure you come during the season.

The BARBERA. You must try the Barbera. Made with an underestimated«blue-collar» grape(per their description), I do identify with this wine. It has a rustic flavor, and it hits, it doesn’t glide. Memorable, unforgettable, definitely bought two bottles. The other reds were great as well, and when in Temecula, definitely add Hart to your itinerary.

Great atmosphere and helpful/knowledgable people working there. My boyfriend and I ended up joining the wine club and will be making frequent trips back.

Great winery with great wine. Family owned and operated. Great wine club deals. Kaitlin our server was very knowledgeable and gave my girlfriend and I amazing service. Kaitlin also gave us great recommendations for other wineries in the valley. Amazing experience!

Everything was balanced, or what the lady told us. We came here before stopping by Miramonte for our wine tour there. Hart is a good starter winery. The price is very good and wines are pretty good. Lots of award winning wines. The staff described everything as balanced… Place is very small and had a pretty good view. Nothing too fancy or memorable. This is more of a smaller winery to relax if you’re not looking for the party winery like South Coast, Ponte or Miramonte. It’s like your«pre-game» winery.

We always find a nice conversation enhances the overall tasting experience at a cellar door, and at Hart’s our server could not have been more lovely. We might have been the last ones in for the day, but there was no sense that they wanted to get us out the door and close up. Lovely wines all around too, although next time we’re in Temecula we’ll be sure to start our day of tasting here when our taste buds are fresh, as they were a little fatigued after visiting four or so other places first!

I’ve been to wine tasting events, but this is my first time visiting a vineyard, so you can imagine my excitement to see what all the hype is about. With a group of friends(we roll deep with 10 people), we arrived at Hart Winery just before noon. We met up with another group of friends that brought our total to about 13. We started with a group tour, a behind the scenes tour of the facility and an insider on the process. From how they pick their grapes, processing their berries, fermentation and aging, it was really cool to see how much dedication is poured into each drop of wine. After the quick tour, we got to wine tasting! With options for six tastings, I tried the Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne, Tres Hermanos, Cabernet Franc and a special reserve that costed two tasting tickets, 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. The Reds were much earthier, tobacco-y and drier than I expected, which are profiles I’m not a fan of, so that was disappointing. However, it opened up my palates a lot more to whites, which I found so much more appealing on this trip. I walked away with a bottle of Roussanne! It left an impression with its crisp apple and melon profiles, but it wasn’t sweet like a dessert wine. It was perfect! I would recommend that or the Arneis, which is a beautiful white wine for summer and breezy weather. Great for picnics and such! Enjoy :)

We stopped in Temecula on a recent trip to California, and Hart Winery was one of the wineries the guidebook we had recommend. They have a great selection of wines, and the staff was very accommodating. I had two bottles of wine shipped back to CT. The lady assisting me reduced my shipping costs and threw in a free wine glass.

Came here on 4th of July and it wasn’t crowded which is nice. Quaint small tasting room which is nice change from the over the top McMansion type wineries. Tasting is $ 12 for 6 wines. They have a wonderful selection of red wines and the staff was very knowledgeable. Plus they gave us packets of oyster crackers to cleanse our palates!

I really enjoyed this small winery. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the wine was really tasty, and it was reasonably priced($ 12 for 6 tastings), although the glass is an extra $ 5. I had wine here that I’d never had anywhere else, so that was nice. It is small, but a worthy stop on your tour of Temecula wineries.

3.5 Stars. Hart winery is a quaint but charming winery. The tasting room is small so it can feel cramped if there are a lot of people. Price is decent, comparable to, if not better than, the other wineries in the area($ 12 for six tastings; an extra $ 5 if you want to keep the glass). We tried the Arneise(citrus flavor so, light. Not too sweet if you like that), the Rose(sweet, strawberry flavor), the Cabernet Franc(good. Bell peppery, a bit of spice. Finish was ok), the Tres Hermanos(not a big fan. Smells sweet though, and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon(sweet and plummy, smells like a late harvest). The people working here definitely know their product and can be quite educational, which is nice There are benches and a small seating area in the front. Restrooms are small but private. Overall, a very chill place to spend with the significant other or a small group of friends.

I had low expectations of Temecula wineries. And after visiting two wineries before Hart, I was afraid the reputation of the area was well deserved. But not the case with Hart. This is a great winery. I tried the two wines and a bunch of reds they offered for tasting. All were quite good. My favorite wine of the day was the 2012 Mourverde. The 2012 Cabernet Franc was great too! I’d definitely return to visit this place — and bypass some of the bigger production-type wineries in the area.
