Ben was great for our experience at this Winery. He paired our wines and food together so well. He was definitely very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. Highly recommended for anyone to visit Keyways Winery.

Our first stop on this round of wineries. The two wines that stood out were the Riesling and the Granache. The Riesling was like he old Baily’s Dry Riesling — very good. The Granache was amazing. Kind of in the shadows of Fazeli Winery, but a better choice due to the price and the crowds. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Definitely on our list to repeat.

WARNINGWARNING. If you want a creepy Italian wine tasting event this is the place. Father and son team used the wine tasting as a pickup place. Being inappropriate and touchy to all the females. Pours were small unless you show cleavage then the pours were tripled. Felt violated and will NEVER be back.

I visited Keyways Vineyard and Winery on April 9, 2016. I purchased a groupon for tasting and pairing to celebrate my best friends birthday. So we arrive and there is nobody there to check us in but there is a couple standing by the counter. So we stand there taking in the atmosphere. They have an amazing live saxaphone player and ppl are having a great time. We aren’t in a hurry so waiting was no big deal, however we do have a reservation so I just want them to know we’re here. After a few minutes I ask the couple does anyone ever come over here. They laugh and say yes but it takes them awhile. We exchange small talk and realize we’re there for the same deal. After a few more minutes an older gentleman greets us and takes us into a beautiful tasting room. We end up sitting next to the couple that we met upon arrival. Now fast forward to the tasting. There are about 30 of us in this room and once everyone gets seated the older gentlemen is joined by a younger man. They introduce themselves as father and son from New York. They joke with us and the tasting begins. Now the groupon I purchased is eight tastings and pairings. They begin and Ben(the son) is pouring these incredibly tiny pours. He isn’t telling us what he’s pouring unless we ask. By the third pour I ask is there a list so we know what we’re drinking and how will we know what we may want to purchase. A young lady comes in and hands me a list of different wines. I’m now trying to figure out which wines we’ve had because the list consist of more wines than we are tasting. She begins assisting Been with the pours but she knows absolutely nothing about the wines. I’m slightly irritated with the lack of knowledge they have about there own wines yet I remain positive because it’s just wine tasting and we’re having such a good time laughing and joking about it all with the couple we met upon arrival. As Ben is doing all the work his dad is walking around flirting with every single woman in the room and pouring them extras. He comes to us flirts looks at my wedding ring and moves on. Ben is fiddling with his shirt trying to unbutton it to look like dad and the other New Yorker in the room. Before the last pour I pull out my phone to do my Unilocal check in and Ben says let me give you a little extra since you’re going to write a good review. I laugh, we drink our last and head to the main room to claim our free Unilocal pour and hope that it will be more than a swallow. Well it isn’t and the young lady knows nothing about the Unilocal or the free pour(even though the Unilocal sticker is on there wall). The tasting consisted of a lot of sweet whites and I wanted to try the Port from there list. She looked confused and said we don’t have any ports. Not sure why it’s listed then. I go wine tasting all the time and I’ve never left without making a purchase but this place really needs to visit some of the surrounding wineries to see how it’s really done. This was my friends first tasting and she gained no wine knowledge from them. They’ve got work to do.

Had a fabulous time with the wine pairings with owner Carlos and son, Ben hosting. Great wine with generous pours. Felt very welcomed and treated with utmost friendly and gracious service. Recommendation would be to provide patrons with wine flight information for note taking and less generous pours because the amount of tastings would be very enjoyable and less costly to the owners. Highly recommend this winery!

When wine tasting in Temecula go to to Keyways when you feel like ordering some tasty finger food to go along with your wine tasting experience. This Spanish cured meat as well as the gouda were hits with our table. My wife appreciated bringing home home a bottle of their moscato while the others in our group loved the albarino. Carlos and Ben were fun hosts.

Well, I’m surprised that this place has such low scores, I had so much fun there!!! Here is just my experience. My friend bought the deals from Groupon, so it includes 5?(sorry, I forgot) glasses of wines and food parings! Their food parings is great! I will post pics. It contains a lot of meat, instead other places only have cheese and fruit! But if you purchase this VIP experience, make sure you book the time in advance with them. We just walked in, so we waited around 2 hours for them to prepare the whole thing, specially the food plate. Me and my friends and four more couples were set by a big table. At first we were a little bit u comfortable l, since we don’t know any four of them, but after drink 2 – 3 glasses, OMG, we become friends! Hahaha!!! That’s why I say this is the best experience ever! Now, let’s talk about the wine and food paring! To be honest, their wine is not as tasty as the ones I drunk in Napa, but they did a great job about the food parings! It makes the wine more«sexy» and«charming»! Carlos(the owner) came in at the end, gave us more glasses of tasting, of course in return, we bought quite a lot, hah. He is really nice guy, so I’m sorry to see that someone says Carlos took away their glasses and never came back. :( I’m not an expert of wine, but I love buying the wines from winery that I think are unique, I posted my choices here too. Ports is a must! ;) Overall, I really had a good time here.

Where do I begin??? Ben and Carlos are just to die for. They are absolutely the best. They are so accommodating and with 8 drunk women, we’re a lot to handle. The wine selection is amazing, and there is something for everyone. I can’t thank them enough for the hospitality. Love Ben & Carlos! Great hosts.

We had a very nice experience at Keyways today. We recently reserved the keyways estate for October and had never actually been to the winery before. The grounds are very nice and the tasting room has a nice friendly vibe to it. Robert in the tasting room was very helpful and added to our pleasant experience. Some wines were better than others but the Syrah blend that they were pouring was very nice. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a review posted for my wife… I bought her a trip for her and a friend. Went here yesterday with my friend. This was the third stop on our winery tour. We arrived and it was pretty but small inside. They did have live music, not a band but a singer and another musician who played the guitar and piano. Played a variety of songs which was very nice. While my friend and I sat at one of the tables drinking our one ounce samples, a guy comes up and asks us which one of us was celebrating our birthdays. We said neither but then he introduced himself as the owner. Thought that was very nice. Asked us how we were doing and made polite conversation for a minute. He then grabbed both of our glasses and said the next round was on him. We thought that was so nice. So we watched him walk away with our glasses. Ten minutes later, still never came back with any wine and because he took our glasses, we weren’t allowed to get anymore wine when we were suppose to have a total of 6 tastings. So great, paid for six and only got two. What a wonderful owner. I would have loved to leave a review of the wine but since I didn’t really get a chance to try any, I obviously am unable to. Will not be returning.

Keyways Winery Review — November 17, 2015 (Scale of 1 – 5, with 5 being the MOST family-friendly and 1 being the LEAST) Quality & Location of Parking Lot — 4.40 Quality of picnic or play area — 4.40 Quality & Cleanliness of the bathrooms — 4.20 Level of entertainment for kids — 4.00 How family-friendly is the winery? — 4.80 How easy was it to move around with a stroller? — 4.40 OVERALLRATING — 4.37 Mommy Reviews: «We always enjoy going to Keyways around the holidays to look at their illuminating vines! They also have a nice picnic area right next to their tasting room so its easy to go in and out for a tasting while the kids play. They also have a large concrete pad above the picnic area which the kids enjoyed playing on. The parking lot is close so its easy to get in and out but it is gravel so having a stroller might be a little tricky. The bathrooms are nice and clean but you do need to walk through the tasting room to get to them. However, the staff was so warm and friendly toward us and the kids and they didn’t mind the kids coming in at all. In fact, they even came out and waited on us and continued to check on us to see if we needed anything. It was a nice afternoon and everyone had a great time!» «Fun place for family» «The manager was awesome and super nice to my husband since he was the only man with a bunch of ladies.» «I enjoyed Keyways and the 2 for one was great!» «The employees at this winery were very accommodating to our group and even came out and waited on us bringing us water and more wine if we needed it. It’s decorated beautiful for the holidays and it’s a very fun place to hang out doors while the kids run around and play. The inside of the winery is not it’s kid friendly because there are breakable things. I tried one of their full-bodied red wines and it was delicious!»

This USED to be a nice winery. Then, the lovely lady who ran and operated it sold it. Now, it’s crap. Don’t waste your time or money here. They’ll overcharge you and give you the run around till you give up. We bought wine and were overcharged. Their pours are tiny for the price you pay and don’t join their wine club! You’ll be overcharged for that too! If you used to be a wine club member, get out now!

Love their Tempranillo!!! Their Tempranillo, Viognier, Roussanne… Are all estate grown! It was a great experience to actually see those grapes in the vineyard. The production tour was fun. We got to do barrel tastings.

Came here yesterday with a group of friends yesterday for a special event for mothers day. Its a little smaller than other wineries but all the staff very were nice and helpful. We had a closed out private party where they provided lunch and live music. Food was ok, it was cold by the time we finished with our horse back riding. Live music was good and relaxing. I loved their Syrah wine. Its sweet and its a light pink color which i love! We also got a private tour of their winery which was awesome and got to learn more about the process of making wine and even got to taste it too! If you are a wine lover and want to know how to make wine, they are offering a wine class for $ 99/person. its a class where they teach you how to mix wine and make your own wine. After you are done they will give a full bottle with you own name or how ever you want to call your wine for free! Give that as a gift to someone special. It thought that was pretty awesome. Right next to their land they had horse back riding which was awesome and fun! If you keep walking up towards the vineyard theres a beautilful big home for rent. Has 6 bedrooms, a pool, Jacuzzi and a nice place where you can have a bbq. Sounds a fun weekend with friends! Overall, its a nice experience. I would want to check out the other 7 wineries that are next to each other. But definitely check this place out.
