I’ve never been to an ice cream shop like this. Set in an business park, this modest little ice cream joint offers first-class ice cream in a very personal way by its creator, «Doc». What a great guy! Down-to-earth, passionate about his work, and set to really grow his business(of which I haven’t the slightest doubt). Tempe is really lucky to have him and a place like this here.

Tucked away in an unassuming building(don’t accidentally drive past like I did), you’ll find amazing ice cream. Try the lucuma, which goes along really well with banana!

Let me start by saying, Doc is one of the nicest, most charismatic, and inspiring individuals I have ever met. His passion and dedication can be tasted in every single drop of this incredible ice cream. You won’t find a more unique flavor selection anywhere else in the valley. Please reconsider before you think about going to the near by chain creameries. Their quality and selection is inferior to Doc’s homemade, handcrafted treats. I have never be more pleased with a bowl of ice cream in my entire life. Thank you Doc, from the bottom of my heart. You’ve truly created a work of art.

TL;DR; awesome gelato and sorbet. When we arrived, we were a little hesitant. It’s in a building that looks more like an office building than a place for food. When we entered, Doc immediately greeted us and spent the next 10 minutes explaining all the flavors and ingredients and giving us tasting samples. Given the lack of typical ingredients and the healthy-sounding alternatives that replaced them, we weren’t expecting much, but the gelato was the best I’ve ever had. A perfect balance of flavors(my favorite was chocolate), and so, so smooth. Doc’s dad was even HAND-SQUEEZING grapefruits for a special order of grapefruit sorbet they were making. Who does that? Doc and his dad do! We’ll be back whenever we’re in town.

Literally the best ice cream you could have… Non-GMO, gluten-free, no artificial sweeteners, no artificial dyes… Seriously a work of art. Doc handmakes everything in the store and always has some great seasonal flavors. The quality is clear and doesn’t leave you feeling sick or result in a sugar crash. Doc himself is a great guy and obviously cares tremendously about his craft. You can taste the difference. I’ve had every other spot in the PHX area and you can’t beat this place.

Doc’s artisan ice cream is so good! My whole family loves this place! It comes with a lot of ice cream. I hope you will like this place to. Doc is very nice and you can talk to him easily. My favorite flavors are Chai and Anti Chili. There is plenty of parking. This review was done by my 8 year old daughter.

Holy freakin cow!!! Superfruit and even liqueur based artisan ice cream that will blow your brain. And I’m not talking the brain freeze you get from trying to eat it so fast. The Grand Marnier Marscapone was off the chain good. Like an adult creamscicle. The Brazilian Chocolate paired superb with it. Our friend got pistachio and blackberry Cabernet. She didn’t stop shoveling it in except to rave. Do not pass this up! And the Doctor is in! One of the nicest guys. Ask him about his story when you come in.

Holy crap this is good and incredibly cheap for artisan ice cream. At about the same cost as baskin robins you can travel the ice cream globe of flavors. And the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, they«made me» try all the amazing flavors before picking. I’ll be back :)

Doc is the NICEST guy. I’ve been here several times and I love that he is always so enthusiastic and tells us about all the flavors. He makes some really interesting ones like soursop and lychee, and also more common ones like chocolate and vanilla. Every single flavor is absolutely delicious! My personal favorite is the chai. The location is kinda hard to find the first time, it’s in a business complex on Warner, a bit east of Priest. All the popsicles and gelatos are all natural, you can see him making them with fresh ingredients right behind the counter! If you haven’t tried Doc’s, definitely go try it!

I’ve been a longtime customer of Doc’s since he opened up shop and if you’re wanting to support a great local business, this should definitely be in your Top 5. Step away from the processed ice cream bars, cleanse your palette, and head over here to enjoy the purest forms of flavor in a much needed natural chilly popsicle. Doc has some flavors that can be daunting like Coconut Lemongrass Lime or Peanut Butter and Jelly, but don’t let that scare you. You’re spoiling your tongue and its’ fledgling flavor buds so stop being a selfish jerk just because you have fears that stray from your normal unhealthy ice cream habits. His flavors change according to the seasons and I can’t tell you just how much I cry internally that I have to wait until Fall for my beloved Concord Grape. My second favorite is Strawberry Champagne which has this unusual little fizz when it melts — but that’s just the way I like my drinks so bottoms up and tongue out! If you have the extra time, Doc is more than happy to tell you how he decided to get into the ice cream industry which is a pretty bizarre story itself. It takes 7 or so years of school to make ice cream, kiddos. Who knew you had to slave away at the same pace as an architecture major? Only con is that I can’t get them to my family on the west side since they melt pretty easily and just texturally aren’t the same even when I try to keep them in an ice box. Thus, no one believes me when I describe these holy grails but I just wrote a Unilocal review on it so I hope that will suffice their ignorant/sheltered minds. From a business catering standpoint, Doc charges extremely less than Paletas Betty — like almost 50% less to feed over 100 people. So why not satisfy your stomach at the same time while everyone else hails you the Under-Budget King/Queen of the office?

Hidden gem in a business complex with no sign to recognize its existence except for the small logo on the front doors. Gelatos, sorbets, and Popsicle are all made in house with all natural ingredients. The owner says he has up to 95 flavors but rotates them. I was lucky to snag up one of the last coconut lemongrass like popsicles of the day. If you like tom kha gai soup, you’ll love this in a Popsicle form. It instantly brought me back to Thailand. Wish I bought more. The blood orange sorbet was also refreshing as the moment it touched your tongue, you knew what flavor it was with it’s tangy bite and sweet undertone. The owner was contemplating on opening a shop in the LA area so if you’re from LA and are there, convinced him! Or better yet, come to Orange County!

Found Doc’s from Unilocal reviews, and the many 5 star ratings did not let me down! Tucked away in a little strip mall, Doc’s is a wonderful place to stop in and grab a beautiful cup(or pint or tub!) of one of their extraordinarily flavored gelato from their new gelato case or — our favorite — the gelato pops(which also have some great sorbet flavors). The gelato and sorbet are all natural, and many of the ingredients are sourced locally(like Schnepf’s Farm peaches) but Doc also likes to incorporate unusual flavors, often fruits from South and Central America. Everything has been good, but our favorites so far are: –Chocolate gelato –Raspberry Chambord sorbet pop –Peach Bellini sorbet pop –Guanbana gelato(like banana) Doc himself is usually onsite and is totally charming. He’ll probably remember you, even after only one visit. And you will definitely be back!

A friend and I stumbled upon Doc’s shop today and we could not have felt luckier. I have never had fresher, more satisfying ice cream in my life. Everything is made from scratch, in-shop and you can taste the freshness. Talking to Doc was such a pleasure. He is such a kind, passionate, fun man who is so knowledgable about his product. If the ice cream didn’t speak enough for itself, the conversation alone made the trip well worth it. We almost made the terrible mistake of going to a chain ice cream shop, but this experience turned into so much more than ice cream. It was a beautifully crafted work of culinary art, incredible conversation, and newfound friendship. Good luck with everything you do, Doc! And we will see you for more treats next weekend!

The family that owns this is amazing! They are super friendly! They let us try ALL the flavors and explained them to us. I tried the banana nut and chocolate gelato and the mango paleta. They were all delicious! I’m excited to go back and try more!

Just simply amazing products and exceptional customer service. Be sure to follow them on Facebook. It may be a challenge to locate, but once you do, the reward is worth the challenge. This place uses all natural ingredients. Lots of local things. Be sure to try out the Caramel Sea Salt. It is very unique. I love the coconut lemon grass and the pichu mango. The chocolate gelato pops are so delicious that people who don’t like chocolate would love these pops. Great spot to take the family for a little treat if you are tired of all the frozen yogurt and ice cream spots.

This place is pretty hard to find. As another reviewer pointed out, the orange umbrellas help locate it. Alan was inside prepping some popsicles to be made. He explained some of their processes and machines and let me taste almost all the flavors they offer. Its cool to kind of see«backstage» of how everything works and all the different machines they use. All of the flavors were amazing, even the banana, and I am not even that big of a banana fan. The banana walnut really surprised me as it tasted exactly like Banana nut bread, YUM! Way cheaper than other gelato places. I live close to Frost in Gilbert and for the price of the small size at Frost, i got a large at Doc’s and the flavors taste better! You wont regret visiting this little gelato gem!

Little hidden gem of natural goodness! Omg. The gourmet fruit bars are so delicious that I had to eat two! The coconut lemongrass lime is my favorite so far. So refreshing and light. The place is not the most visible, it’s in an industrial area and no big signage above. Family is very nice and very proud of their product. All natural ingredients. mmm love it.

Amazing ice cream hidden in a simple office complex. I’ll have to try all of the flavors to give you more info, but I’m on the case! So far I’ll say I definitely recommend these: — Chocolate Gelato — Strawberry Jamaica & Lavender — Chai Tea

Fantastic Popsicles! Looks like all products are made on site(although the shop can be a bit hard to find in the plaza). Tried the Peach Bellini and Coconut Lemongrass. You can definitely taste the fresh peaches in there! The coconut was super smooth with a hint of ginger. I wonder if the lemongrass were switched to lime… It might taste like key lime pie! Which I’m sure would also be amazing. Cant wait to go back to try the chocolate and mocha. :) I’m hoping they open their gelato bar soon.

I have to confess… I had a blackberry cabernet popsicle and loved it. THEN I went back and had a coffee one. I loved it too. I really don’t even feel guilty about have 2 popsicles. TOTALLY worth it. Fun company, nice family, delicious product.
