Dos Gringos

They took about ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minutes before they took my order. My server came to my table asked if we were ready to order and before we could answer she left. And the food wasn’t that great. It wasn’t busy so I was confused on why it took so long. My server spend most of the time socializing and talking to others. All in all not worth your time or your money. If you like being ignored and hungry then come on down but if not don’t waste your precious time.

Seriously one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. Server seemed annoyed every time she came over to our table and kept saying they were really busy. Food was awful, I ordered the Gringo Wrap and gave up on it half way through. Our server followed up by pouring ice on me and delivering the wrong drinks to us. I informed her about the mistake and she apologized and left to bring me the correct drink. A few minutes later she returned to ask if we needed anything else, but still yet to deliver my correct drink. When I reminded her of this, she seemed upset and annoyed. Finally she returned with my correct drink (dos equis lager bottle). My date asked for the check and our server returned apologizing for the «bad service» and asked if she could «get us anything for free» because she didnt want us leaving «with a bad taste in our mouth». Too late, the Gringo Wrap already did that.
All in all, Im willing to write this off as a bad night for this server. It didnt appear busy to me, and I saw another server possibly training a third server. However it doesnt excuse the lack of management. No one ever came by to touch our table and ask how everything was. A capable manager should have at least helped this server run food and drinks.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was off the hook good. Everyone in our party loved what they ordered. I’d eat here all the time if I lived here!

I love Taco Tuesdays, so naturally I had to try out the place next to my work. I came of course on a Tuesday around 7 and it was pretty busy. I ordered a set of two tacos and a frozen margarita. My drink came and was almost water with vey little alcohol. My tacos came and were pretty tasty after I added some extra sour cream. I was still hungry and ordered two more tacos but to my dismay they were extremely greasy. The vibes are really nice there, always lots of people on tuesdays. Although the music can be very dark and really annonying sometimes. No one wants to listen to metal on a happy taco tuesday.

Would be nice to know how the food and drinks were if I wasn’t ignored for almost 15 minutes while standing at the bar. Went to Applebee’s instead why bother spending money at a place that won’t even acknowledge you for being there.

Food and drinks were good, but were a little pricey. Our server, Kaylee, was super nice and gave us some insight on entertainment around Tempe. Glad we went!

We have been comming here for months every tuesday or thursday always had great service. Today our server kyle was amazing. But unfortunetly we had to leave due to the bartender and management kicking us out. Very unprofessional and on top of that theleft poor kyle take care of 20+ peoples checks and the semi bald douchbag with a yellow shirt that kicked us out didnt even bother to help her. We believe it was her first day. Either way we are never comming back

Kaylie is AWESOME!!! She did a great job with our orders. Everyone got what they ordered and got it quickly.
That being said… Management/​bartender (some balding 6 foot plus gentlemen in a yellow shirt) showed up at 10:15 and asked us to leave. He had the new server, Kaylie, get over 20 people checks and HE DIDN’T HELP. He went behind the bar to help out all 4 people that were sitting there.

I love the ambiance of the hole in the wall Mexican beach bar. The food is always very hit or miss and never really good. HOWEVER, they have a kitchen that stays open until 2am closing… So there’s that. Drink prices are average.

I really like the atmosphere at Dos Gringos. While they don’t serve the best Mexican food I have ever had, the tacos are still very good, and I am a tough critic when it comes to tacos. I tried the gringos tacos and street tacos and actually liked the gringos tacos more. My boyfriend tried the chicken Diablo wrap and he loved it, especially with a little cholula.

Watch out, waitresses alter credit card receipts! Horrible service and it was a slow afternoon during happy hour. Waitress was snappy and largely absent. Food was eh. I gave her a 10% tip reflecting poor service. She later changed the amount on receipt to pay herself more! I contacted GM. He didn’t seem surprised or concerned by her behavior (must happen often). But he was adamant about giving me refund. Been almost a month and still getting the run around. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Awesome staff! Great environment to go and relax and have a few drinks after work or on weekends!

I am Hispanic, and my husband knows how to cook authentic Mexican food. Both of us have worked in the restaurant industry. We have both been to Mexico multiple times. When we want Mexican food, this is one of our spots.
At lunch, the service isn’t speedy, but it’s not super slow either. They could use more waitresses. The chips and salsa are respectable, not the very best, but good.
The crunchy chicken tacos are literally the best I’ve ever had. They put guacamole in them, which I’ve never seen before, and they’re delicious. My husband always orders the chimichanga special and he raves about it.
It’s kid-​friendly too, which is hard to find when you want decent food but can’t find a sitter. Our young kids like the games and atmosphere. And I suppose it can be said that dudes would like this place as there are thin young women in tank tops and daisy dukes prancing around. They don’t look TOO tacky, but it’s a bit more butt cheek than my 13 year old stepson needs to see.

Awesome tacos, awesome service. What more can I say?
Went in last night craving tacos, sat on the patio, and was greeted immediately by my server, who introduced herself as natasha. She was very nice to my friends and me, cracking jokes and telling us about the menu. It was so refreshing to see a server who enjoys her job and has a good time with her customers.
We ordered the nachos, which she suggested, and loved them.
Will be coming back, no doubt!

Fast service. Food was tasty. We had the Juan’s Tacos and Gringo Burro. Prices were ok $ 30 for the two meals and two beers at 10pm.

Rice tasted uncooked. Street tacos were not very good. The waitress was not very attentive. I will never eat at this place again. The only decent thing was the beer. It came in a bottle.

Amazing tacos. Girlfriend had mini chimis and I crushed the tacos. We keep finding our way back. The Carne Asada actually tasted marinated, while slightly grilled. The meat is always juicy and done medium. They brought the wrong order out first time around, gave us that order, then brought out the correct order. Bartender was cool. Great time. Highly recommend.

Came to this location on a Saturday night. It was pretty dead with a few customers. The bartender was really nice and we told him it was our first time there. We ordered chips and salsa with a martini and beer. The chips were great but the martini tasted like juice so we decided to order two shots of my favorite grey goose vodka to get the alcohol kicking.
Things got awkward quickly because the shots tasted like water with a hint of alcohol. My husband hesitated on saying anything because we hate complaining but it was pretty disappointing. When the bartender came by, my husband politely told him that he isn’t trying to say that it was the bartenders fault but the shots we got tasted like water. The bartender immediately got annoyed. He just shrugged his shoulders and said he poured us shots and left it at that. My husband even said that he understands it’s probably not the bartenders fault and that we didn’t want anything else but thought it would be good for him to know. We’ve worked in restaurant before and know that sometimes management will water down the bottles. The bartender walked away and we got our check and left after paying.
Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back to this place. it was really clear that the staff had no interest in retaining new customers who were excited about finding a new place to enjoy their weekends.
When I worked in the restaurant business, I alway made sure that first time customers would be a returning customer. Our shots were $ 9/​shot and that’s pretty expensive when you feel like you drank water.

Listen — this joint is exactly what you have come to expect. The service is reliable, the beers are always cold and it’s the only place other than Mexico that I consistently enjoy Corona.
Their food is good, especially their mini chimis and quest dip — and the ambiance never disappoints. Dining /​drinking outdoors is one of my favorite things about Arizona — and for like 8 months out of the year, this is one of my favorite places to go to happy hour.
Can’t go wrong — you’ll never be blown away by anything, but it is always consistently better than average!

This review is only for their nachos. This place is very close to where I work. More often than not, I’m pressed for time. I will call in my nacho order and swing by and pick them up. I’m a huge nacho fan and would go as far as to say I’m a nacho connoisseur. You can add chicken or beef to your nachos. I personally like the chicken, but add whatever you like. It’s your journey. Swing by and try some or if you’re like me and are pressed for time, call them in! Enjoy!
