Today marked the 3rd and last visit for me at Dynamic Rehab. I started 3 weeks ago because my Hand Surgeon suggested this place and luckily they took my insurance. The person he referred the most was Kathy. She specializes in Hand Therapy. I admit, I was a little taken aback on my first visit, because the Therapy area was an open area and their is absolutely no privacy. I guess that is the way it works. I can almost live with it, except for one thing. On my first visit, there were two other people at the Hand Therapy Table and Kathy, along with an assistant, took care of all 3 of us. I thought, okay, maybe next time it will be different, it wasn’t. The first two visits I thought Kathy was quite friendly, but today I just got really upset with her. Today I was at the table with 3 other people. My appointment was at 9:30 and I barely had to wait, when her assistant called me back, got me set up with a Heating Pad for both of my hands and we were on the way. After the heating pad, had to scoop out beans and put it onto a tray, both hands for a while. Okay, didn’t do much for me and I didn’t really like the idea that I was touching these beans that who knows how many people before me touched. Not very sanitary, but luckily I got to wash my hands right after. We then went on to weights. Did not seem to do much for my hands. I guess the idea was to work on my wrists, but my osteo arthritis pain is in my thumbs. That pain spreads to the wrist occasionally, not today. By the time we got to how to make a perfect«C» I was questioning what the purpose of all this was. That finally got Kathy’s attention. By this time, nearly an hour had passed and she still had not sat with me, but instead went on to a patient that came in after me. She seemed visibly upset that I would ask questions. Her response was that«We went over this already» and«I sense that you don’t like this»(something like that) and that really ticked me off, because she did not pull me aside but decided to confront me in front of all the other patients and staff. Not very professional and not something I appreciated. If you don’t like me asking questions as a Patient, perhaps she should not be in the business of therapy. And by the way, Kathy did not go over with me on those particular questions, because that was the first time that I was instructed to do these exercises today and it was the first time she actually addressed me for longer than 2 minutes. Needless to say, I got up, grabbed my purse and walked out. I am not interested in a place where when you are supposed to see a Therapist, you have to share your appointment time between her and a bunch of other people. My Therapy session I thought was going to be 30 minutes, but each time I was there it took well over an 1 hour and more. I do have other things I have to do as well and I can see sharing a Therapy Room, but if I pay to see a Therapist, I want her or him to pay attention to me only. When you go to a Doctor, he/she doesn’t put you in a room with a bunch of people and take care of 3 or 4 at the same time. I cannot recommend this place at all.
