I ordered a quart of chocolate gelato, and a Joe Latti made with chocolate and peanut butter. I was in the drive thru and they offered me a sample portion of the vanilla one for my dog, That was a nice and unexpected gesture. The staff was friendly, quick service, and smiles. This was my first time, and I will be going back.

Tempe is lucky to have Joes Italian Ice! For many years our family has enjoyed eating at Joes, I love the throwback 50⁄50 orange Italian ice with vanilla ice cream so delicious!

I was so excited when Joe’s opened in Tempe. I first found the in Anaheim and people lined up around the block. Made with fresh ingredient, the original recipes are delicious! Can’t beat it for relief from the summer heat.

$ 7 for a reg size choc/vanilla twist cone dumped in a cup. What a rip off. Don’t come here looking for soft serve. Italian ice is decent though and may actually be worth the $ 5

We had been wanting to try this place for a while since it’s so close to our house. We finally gave in and went. The atmosphere is really what you pay for. Its a retro 50’s style diner with older furniture, and booths, which is pretty cool. There’s a lot of glass and a lot of natural light. Its clean and the staff is friendly. The ice cream is good, but pretty generic it seemed like. Good but nothing special. The shaved ice was also good, but again, nothing out of this world. The price is really why they got 4 out of 5 stars. Its pricey but I guess you are just paying for the experience more than anything else. I would go back again though mostly for the kids and the fun of it.

Stopped by for the second time tonight and was just as impressed tonight as I was the first time. Italian Ice was very creamy and smooth. Service was great and friendly! Loved the Fifties theme with all the décor and the music. Will definitely come back.

The place is big and great for a group. The Italian ice is good and they give you the flavor of the day to sample. I got the Joe-alto. Italian ice with soft serve. HELLO, happiness! It was very good. And a good place to just hang out too.

Good Italian ice but was really mad today because I TRIED using the drive thru. I sat there for 10 minutes and no one even came to the window. A few employees gazed my way but no one ever came over. So after 10 minutes of waiting I decided to just give up and leave. Extremely mad considering there were a handful of employees in plain sight.

Only about a 10 minute walk from the house, Joe’s is a family favorite. There are lots of great flavors and we like to try new ones when we go. Staff is great, ice is delicious. My only frustration is they don’t have a diaper changing station in the restroom. It seems like a no-brainier for a family-oriented establishment.

I love this place but was extremely disappointed when I decided to take my mom and friend here last night. My friend and me got mint cookie with soft serve and my mom just got ice cream. Once I already paid the cashier told me their soft serve machine wasn’t working and asked if vanilla ice cream was okay. I said yes but when we received our dessert even the mint cookie(Italian Ice) was mint chocolate chip ice cream too. Like WTF. You could have told us you were basically out of the 2⁄3 things we ordered. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of this since my mom was leaving town in the morning. I will go back here but it was a disappointment especially since this place is already well over priced.

Aye, the Joe Lati. It really doesn’t get much better than this when you’re talking delicious, sweet italian ice. I was in town for work and the regional salesman made it a priority to stop here for desert. The venue is super cool and fun. Even though I was there in February, I can see how nice it would be to hangout at the outdoor bar-height counter to enjoy some italian ice with friends. Salesman insisted on the Joe Lati, so I decided to go with it. It sure didn’t treat me wrong. The mango italian ice swirled with creamy custard(Didn’t pay attention to what it was, I didn’t care) felt so good going down a spoonful at a time. Cold deserts have a way of governing the speed at which you eat them. The brain freeze I received was worthy of knocking this place down to four stars, but because I got to ring the bell before I left — Joe’s gets a solid five.

Simply put, this place is awesome! From the outstanding service, to the classy-unique décor, and of course the tasty Italian Ice, Joe’s is a place I could see myself frequenting in the summer. The young gentleman at the counter gave us samples which were all tasty in their own right, but we(party of two) decided to share a large Raspberry Italian Ice. Be sure to try it Joe Latti style, as it provided a perfect balance of cream sweetness to the tartness of the raspberry. I fully expect my stamp card to be fully punched and redeemed by the end of the summer!

Wow how has this place gone down. We moved from Tempe sept 2014 to San Diego. From time to time we stop at the Orange County location that always has awesome flavors. We were in town for valentines weekend and thought it would be nice to stop into the Tempe location. We drove about 20 min out of our way to pick it up and they only had 8 flavors. And bizarre flavors at that. None of he actual Italian ice. But basically ice cream. I’m So sad I walked out empty handed.

Friendly staff, polite, upbeat, and helpful. We sampled many flavors, I went with Fuzzy Wuzzy and vanilla. My wife had the strawberry and cream. The inside has a lot of personality and tons of cool antiques. The Pacman game is FREE and tons of fun! Delicious fun.

Like an old fashion ice cream parlor with stools and an old Coca Cola Machine. I had the Mango Tango and was very good. The ice has a real substance /thickness to it where it is not runny or any liquid at all. Very good texture and sweet flavor. There was not much business on a later Sunday afternoon and was not sure of they were even open. I very much enjoyed their ice, a recommendation would be to have the ice visible to the customer and be able to sample so of the flavors. The italian ice is kept behind a wall so you can not see the different flavors. I have never seen an ice cream, gelato or yogurt place where the product was not visible and not inviting to sample the product. I think the general setup is very poor and uninviting to the cunsumer. Change your setup and make it customer friendly. Would give you 5 stars of your job setup was better.

Bada Bing Cherry and some custard mixed together and you’ve got yourself a slice of heaven! I went through the drive-thru and this short-hair, younger chick recommended a few things to me and was incredibly friendly and helpful. She said that she would recommend the Cherry and the custard and when I had my first bite, I wanted to hug her! I saved the little treat in my freezer for the next day and it was equally as good. I would recommend that anyone should go here if you’re looking for a sweet little treat!

This is a super cute place with great Italian ice and ice cream treats. The retro ambiance make this place stand out. Go inside to enjoy the cool décor or use the drive through to grab something on the run. Though the product is excellent, the prices are a tad high and service can be slow sometimes. Still worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I really enjoyed this Italian ice. The watermelon sample was delicious! I had the wild cherry, and it was a bit too sweet for me. Next time I would try the Bada Bing Cherry. It was very clean, and we especially enjoyed the free Ms. Pac-Man! I would go back again for a cool treat!

Very fun place! The decoration is just awesome, very retro. It was our first time there and the employee gave us some samples, honeydew sorbet(yummy!) The price are not too expensive but get the Italian Ice, very refreshing and good flavors. Perfect for those hot summer days !
