What can be said that isn’t already reflected in their 5 star rating? Let’s start with the bad. Nothing, unless you find it a little far from the main road on your way to all those lesser wineries. The good. Everything else. The family that owns it are really nice and fun to sit and talk with while you sample their wines. They have some cheeses to snack on while drink. And the wines… all good. We did not have a single one which we thought was sub par. I would whole-heartedly recommend them all. This place is a must go. Help support this family run winery that produces some great wines.

2011 Estate Cab, YES! 2012 Estate Cab even more YES! You cannot beat the friendly, enthusiastic service that you get there. This place is exactly what Paso Robles is all about. And that Estate Cab is amazing-go try it!

Great winery with a number of vintages. We are club members, love the small bites and occasional BBQ offerings, and the friendly laid back approach of the owners. All about good wines and good times at Sarzotti Winery

Stopped in to pick up my wine shipment and buy some wines. As usual we were treated like royalty there by Jim and Cheryl. It also seems every time we go there we run into people who are discovering Sarzotti and how good it is. This past time was two very nice ladies from Walnut, CA which is a ways from here and they seemed bowled over by the wines, hopefully new fans. I can never say enough good things about Sarzotti and the wines we get from here and the service that we get. If there is one new winery you are adding to your list of new ones to try in this area then this is the one you need to put on the list. Make sure and tell them Mike O referred you from Unilocal… likely you won’t get any extra treatment, but you never know, Jim might take you and give you extra fills from the new wines or some grappa, which I had to swear off after that one time… lol.

We found this winery through Unilocal and trip advisor and am glad we stopped in. The wines were good — but what was even better were the owners Jim and Cheryl Sarzotti. They were so hospitable — treated us like we were part of the usual crowd. Jim even let us do some barrel tasting. This is definitely a winery worth returning to. If only I could figure out how to add a photo to this post, I would as both of them kindly accepted our request for a group photo. Thanks Jim and Cheryl for being such great hosts.

This gem of a winery was one of our stops during our carriage ride with White Horse Carriage. Every wine sampled was absolutely terrific. We became club members. The owners were very friendly and made our 25th wedding anniversary celebration so much fun. I highly recommend this winery. We will definitely be back!

Amazing wines, SO enjoyed getting to know the owners. Very generous and gracious couple who share their wine making history. Loved all their wines! All their reds were phenomenal. Joined immediately and took home a case!

Stopped in yesterday as we were in the area. The Sarzotti’s were both there and couldn’t have been more charming and accommodating. A bit of old piedmont in Cali.

This lucky find was one of the best of our wine tasting trip. Great locale along the back country roads. Wonderful couple who were our host/hostess. We were the first of the day and they opened all fresh bottles for us; nice! Also served us a variety of cheeses, crackers, and chocolate with their port. We learned alot and feel we have new friends.

Visited Paso Robles this past weekend and went to 6 wineries. This one was my favorite overall and this is comparing against Hansen which has 2 gold medal winner Cab and Daou which has an amazing scenic tasting place and you would think really good wines(I was disappointed in their wines). First they produce very small lots which for me translates that their ethic is quality over quantity. Their tasting room greets you with crackers, breads & cheeses which is the exception and not the norm at tasting rooms. The Cabs were spectacular as were the Zin. They have a voignier coming out this fall and the owner — Jim gave me a sample right from the cask and it shows tremendous promise. I’m becoming a member. I’m thrilled to stumble upon this winery. I am in sommelier school and I will be taking their 2007 Cab to class to share with the other sommeliers.

I really liked this place when we visited. They have several award winning wine which were all so good. I bought 2 bottles that are already gone and will be back for more. The servers are the family which was so fun and educated about wine. Salute V

What an amazing place. Off the beaten Paso Wine Trail, but well worth the drive. Jim and Cheryl and their Son Jim and his wife Jenne are all some amazing people. Their hospitality exceeds any expectation that I walked in the doors with. While only a first time guest, they immediately made me feel like family and allowed me to sample all of their wines and to tour their facilities. Their friendliness and passion about wine making was contagious and I look forward to visiting them again in the very near future. The tasting room is small but you feel closer to them as winemakers because of that. Intimacy is the best word. All in all, a very hard 5 start rating for service and hospitality. Wines were easily a 5 star rating too. Though I didn’t get to them all, the ones I did have including late harvests, Zinfandels and a Cab Fran from 2007 were impressive. I honestly have not had this much enjoyment at a winery in a very long time.

I was so excited for Sarzotti due to all of its great Unilocal reviews. I guess it’s just me, but Unilocal let me down this time. Nice place, good people, but I did not enjoy the wine. I liked the Cab, but it was the most expensive and out of my price range. It’s pretty rare for me to go to a place and not like any of the wine. Could just be my taste, but I won’t be coming back.

What’s your image of a California winery? If you are like me, you probably think of a retired couple that really, really love wine and want to share that love with the world. You’re in luck… …stop by Sarzotti Winery and you get the real deal. OK, technically the couple isn’t retired since they obviously have a winery to run, but as opposed to the three other places the ten of us stopped by that lovely Saturday afternoon, here we actually got to meet the proprietors, an Italian couple who did a great job sharing their passion for their Italian blends. Now, I’m not a wine snob… err…connoisseur, but I do know when I see and taste something special. My clue to the quality of the wine was the number of bottles purchased at this location by our friends. Heck, WE even ended up buying an amazing desert wine, which normally I don’t like, but when in Rome…(see how I did that — buh-dum-bump). Not only did they do a great job entertaining us and sharing their passion for wine, they also extended my Unilocal deal to product aside from wine. That’s what I call«well taken care of». Actually, I was so well taken care of, I forgot for a second that I was the designated driver… …don’t worry — I said«almost». Geese!

It is always nice to go to a winery and be able speak to the vintner. When I came into this winery I got a down to earth country vibe, with Garth Brooks playing in the background. There were nice assortments of cheese and crackers to eat while tasting. This winery is family owned and operated very small production. They have really good award winning Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with very fair pricing. The wines here are very bold, heavy in tannins almost a kick in the mouth in a good way. These are wines to go with a beef or lamb dish with some water, not something to drink outside on a hot day. If his is a must see.

This could very well be the best hidden/unknown winery in the Paso area! Sarzotti is known for their Italian varietals and ALL of their wines are delicious & smooth with silky tannins! We bought several bottles of their Cab for $ 24 per bottle. Their wines are all very reasonable in price. We came here during Harvest weekend, and they had a nice cheese & salami spread, as well as tapenade with bread and bruschetta. Since it was Harvest, they had a BBQ during lunch, which included tri-tip sandwich, chili and salad. It was so delicious! They also had music playing outside. It’s a small tasting room but the staff are all very friendly. The lady who was pouring the wine was SO on top of it! She was serving approx. 10 customers at the same time and amazingly enough remembered which wines we were all on. The winery is located on the Backroads of Templeton. It’s definitely worth the drive out there! I would highly recommend this winery to all!
