they should train their staff better. there should be NO reason why the driver is demanding a tip when 1 has been entered manually through my CC when I placed my order. either stop lying to your drivers or train them better. no delivery personnel from ANY restaurant should ever demand a tip! it’s rude and unprofessional and makes the restaurant look unprofessional as well. in this case, because of this I probably won’t be back or order any time soon.

Great takeout/​delivery, food arrives hot. Excellent vegetarian options. Large restaurant is nice (décor is a little tired) and good service.

Great variety of choices from there menu. Never disappointed with the food here. The owner Simon is the best!!! He always makes it a point to make sure your food is perfect. Friendly staff as well they are always attentive to all the customers.

I have tried this place a couple of times when there were no other options. While the food is consistently decent, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. Coupled with the price, well. it’s just too damn high! The food quality is fine, but everything has a bland taste to me. Whether its the Chinese or the sushi, it’s all kind of ‘meh’. Although I will say the Chinese is much better than the sushi, I would completely skip this if you want sushi. As I mentioned, it is pricey so keep that in mind if you are taking out. I have never sat and dined in, only ordered take-​out and delivery.

I havent had chinewe food in probablu a few years. Service is always good here, lucky not too busy.

I’ve been to Mr Wok in the past and it was decent. But unfortunately after wanting to go to a local kosher middle eastern restaurant that was closed, Mr Wok became our default choice. Big mistake! The sushi I ordered tasted mildly salted, I’ve never experienced that in my life. I was so hungry I overlooked it. Then I ordered Chicken, Shrimp fried rice with brown rice. It looked good was heavily salted! I returned the dish and ordered Salmon Teriyaki which was of similarly poor quality. My wife had chicken teriyaki and while chicken was good, simply a terrible sauce. I was so unhappy I spoke to somebody who worked there upon leaving. They good little to no reaction. I even ordered a side of brown rice with the salmon which also was pretty terrible! How to you mess up brown rice? For around $ 50 an extremely bad meal!

Great soy options for anyone who is vegetarian. The food isnt too greasy which is why I come here despite the higher prices compared to the Chinese food places in my town. They do have a lunch special, but the portions are much smaller. I usually cant finish an entire meal by myself but I could easily finish the lunch special orders. Nevetheless a great place for takeout and delivery! I havent gotten a chance to eat in, but maybe next time!

Best Chinese ever. Lived in Tenafly and ate them a few times per week! Moved to a neighboring town with many Chinese restaurants and still had this place deliver to me. Moved out of the area and still pilgrimage back whenever I can just for their spare ribs, egg rolls and sliced chicken with bean sprouts.
PS: Don’t miss the egg rolls. They are one of few places around that actually makes their own and they’re heads and tails superior to any you’ll ever eat anywhere else.

Best Chinese food in the neighborhood, hands down. Great food and friendly service where the owner is always present and hands on.

Average sums it up. The sushi is just ok. Rolls are really itty bitty. Sashimi is usually ok. quick delivery in a pinch. Tani makes better sushi and cooked food.

Overpriced. Sushi was fine. What we got for 30 $ was not what was expected. It was practically nothing. Delivery came quick though.

Ordered last night and was extremely disappointed. We had vegetable lo mein and the only hint of vegetable was onions, it was also very dry! We had general Tso chicken and was hunks of over fried chicken with 2 spears of broccoli and a tasteless sauce. The hot and sour soup was bitter, and acidic, not balanced with heat and sour. I Do Not recommend this place for Chinese food.

Oh Mr Wok, always a nice place to get what you want, nothing more than that. The service is nice and the food isn’t too pricey. I like their sushi, but there’s better rolls around Tenafly, so it shouldn’t be the only thing you get there. I’m a Lo mein fan.

I came here on a Saturday for lunch and was told they have no lunch specials on weekend. Which I wasn’t happy to spend 20 $ on chicken a rice… But hey. It was ok then. My family wanted to try somewhere new so I suggested this. Biggest mistake ever, nearly 100 $ for 4 people, and the food was disgusting. Stay away unless you want stale, smelling food. The chicken was hard to bite into and spare ribs not cooked fully. Even my family member couldn’t eat the wonton soup. This is by far a hit or miss, don’t order for carry out for sure.

Very good service and the food taste great. The ambience is really relaxing and is definitely on my recommend list.

Food is okay to very good, however somewhat pricey.
Biggest problem is the fact that they have some downright unhappy and surly waiters.

They’ve been around since 1988, and the décor has not been updated since then. The space itself is nice, lots of big windows with a view of the main drag in Tenafly.
They have a small section of about half a dozen Chinese entrees that can be made with vegetarian meat. I’ve only had the lunch specials general tsos and orange beef, about $ 8. It comes with rice and soup. Pretty yummy, but I’ve had better (Veggie Heaven in Teaneck, cough cough).
What amazes me about this place is their delivery
territories. Their website lists 29 towns that they deliver to, anywhere from Cliffside Park to Paramus. I have yet to order delivery from them but I imagine the wait could be long.
Overall a nice little place to visit if you’re in the mood for some average Chinese, but don’t expect anything out of this world.

The most noticeable aspect of Mr. Wok is the restaurant’s atmosphere and décor. It’s very clean and quiet, which made dining there much more enjoyable for me.
I’ve only eaten here once so I can’t recall everything I ate, but I remember the egg drop soup and the fried wontons being very good. My only problem was that the orange chicken had this funny taste to it that didn’t sit too well with me, but since it’s not a dish I usually order, I’ll let it pass.
Overall, I’m a fan.

Sometimes you’re so used to going to a good place that you just forget to write up a review because it’s a solid staple in your location. Mr. Wok’s is exactly that. It is consistently excellent.
Today I actually took 1 hour off from work and had a simply wonderful lunch here with a friend. You can really unwind in Mr. Wok’s quiet ambience and we had, as always, impeccable 5 Star service and a delicious meal. My friend wanted a noodle soup that was not on the menu and as she started describing it to the waiter, he literally finished the sentence for her and without any delay in preparation time, it was served exactly as requested and she was raving about it. Everything was just so terrific.
This restaurant has been in Tenafly since 1988 — that’s nearly 25 successful years. How many restaurants do you know that have been around that long and every time you go, it’s excellent. Theyy also do a tremendous business in deliveries.
If you are in the Tenafly area and want great Chinese food and/​or Sushi, don’t hesitate to go to Mr. Wok’s. You’ll love it.
