Quality of the yogurt is awful. I’ve been to lots of Red Mangos and the yogurt was a million times better. This yogurt/ice cream tastes like any low quality generic chain. Won’t go back here.

This place has gotten horrible!!! The texture of the froyo is way too icy and it used to be much smoother. They think that they have established themselves and so they can serve whatever kind of crap froyo they want and that is a horrible mentality. I can assure you other Red Mango’s froyo doesn’t taste like the kind at the Tenafly RM. Save your money and go to another place. DISAPPOINTED!

I’m a fan of Red Mango. I’m an even bigger fan when they have self-serve toppings bar. I’m a humongous fan when they have those balls that pop in your mouth — I don’t know what they’re called, but this location had four different kinds of them! Self-serve toppings bar is terrible for people who have no self-control like me. Once I saw that they had four different varieties of those pop balls [whatever they’re called], I quickly loaded up on them. I tried to eat healthy by loading up with different fruits, but the sight of those pop balls just killed my health-conscious froyo outing. When I went to weigh in, the total came out to about $ 15. Who the hell gets $ 15 in froyo? I could see that the girl behind the counter was holding back her laughter. No matter, I got what I wanted and was very happy. I think next time I’ll get more frozen yogurt, because towards the end, I noticed I was eating just those pop balls. This is the best Red Mango location in the NYC area. Highly recommend that you stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

I’ve had a lot of frozen yogurt in my life and I’ve been to a lot of Red Mangos, and this one is definitely at the top. They have a HUGE selection of flavors and toppings, which I appreciate considering that the one in Pal Park only has four. The Tenafly Red Mango is also self-serve, which is not available at the Palisades Park location. I’m a purist, so I usually get either the white peach or mango by itself, but I occasionally indulge in mixing flavors and adding toppings. My favorite combo by far is the white peach + pomegranate + mango with a big scoop of mochi and yogurt chips. I prefer the fruity flavors over the sweeter ones, but that’s just me. All the flavors are pretty good though; that being said, Red Mango yogurt is a little melty and unless you like that kind of thing, I would try to finish it quickly. The service is generally very nice and they let you try samples of all the flavors you want. I recommend the frozen coffee chiller. I tried it a while ago and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be so good. But one criticism related to this would be that these smoothies tend to be a little inconsistent. I got a mocha coffee chiller not too long ago and it really turned me off: there was WAY to much chocolate syrup in it. Also, recently they started selling soups… I don’t know what that’s about.

Red Mango has pretty good frozen yogurt. Their flavors rotate quiet often and they have a good amount of toppings. Unfortunately the service isn’t always great. I went once a little bit earlier in the day because I wanted to try their smoothies. It was WELL after the opening hours. I understand that setting up may take some time but it was almost as if I wasn’t welcome into the shop. I walked in and the lights were still dim and I was not greeted by the young lady behind the counter who was talking on her phone. I hesitated and asked her if she was open yet and she said: «uh… not really» and made a gesture that was like: does it look like we’re open? So I asked her when she will be ready but she proceeded on talking on the phone. I didn’t really know what to do so I took a seat and waited a good 15 – 20 minutes until she said that everything was ready. I got a mango-pineapple smoothie. It was okay, a little bit too sweet. But, I do like how this Red Mango is self serve so I think that I will come back occasionally.

I LOVE that this place is self serve! The place just opened a few weeks ago so they have a coupon in the town newspaper. The place is very clean and really bright filled with tons of employees. There are about 8 flavors and you can try all of them before you choose. They also provide you with different sized cups. I hate those self-serve places that only provide extra large cups hoping that you won’t be able to control yourself and fill the whole thing. Lots of toppings to choose from and their mochi just tastes better here for some reason. Its priced at .49c/oz so not bad compared to the other self serve places in the area. My favorites so far: original, blueberry, pomegranate, and wild raspberry. And its right next to a stop and shop and cvs so a very convenient stop if you are running errands.

I may have mentioned this in a previous review of many of the Asian froyo places I’ve been to, but this is how I rate these kinds of places. I order the same exact recipe(original with fresh strawberry, mango and mochi) from each place, and judge the establishment on: 1) the taste of the Original flavored yogurt, 2) the chewiness of the mochi, and 3) execution of the shop. My other froyo reviews will tell you that I love the taste of Red Mango above the rest(better than Pinkberry and Boston’s Berryline). I like their original because it’s creamier, and balances the tartness usually found in these yogurts very well. Their texture of the mochi is always so perfect(how do they do that?! it’s like a powdered sugar pillow in your mouth). The reason I give this place a 5 star is because it’s self-serve. How genius! I’d rather serve my own yogurt, thank you. AND I’d rather pay for the mass of what’s actually in the cup, not a flat price each for three sizes that may vary in yogurt and topping volume according to the technician working the yogurt pump!
