I am downrating this excellent buffet, excellent because the food remains so but downrated because the place is taking on a funky smell which hurts the dining experience. Fact is, they need to clean their carpet.

Hopefully after new management they change out their staff!!! The hostess was rude, we hardly saw our waiter, no napkins until we ask for some, and he finally ask us for refills after he handed us a bill while I was eating. It was just my husband and I driving thru Texarkana on our way from Dallas. This was our third time eating at this place. The service was never this bad!!!

This place was really awesome when it first opened and continues to have a great selection and friendly service. There are just some things that can’t be overlooked though and the rat droppings and nest of insulation behind the toilet is a glaring red flag. I thought I may have seen droppings in a corner of the stall the last time I was here but didn’t want to acknowledge or look close enough because I genuinely liked this place. But this time it was worse because there was a nest of insulation pulled from the wall behind the toilet and it was so musty in there I literally gagged and walked out. Such a shame

Sushi bar has a guy there who makes it fresh. Lots of selections. I was impressed. Oh! But the pot roast tasted strange. Odd choice of spices.

Me and ny family where regulars and go twice a month really. I usually enjoy it but I went in for my best friends bday(I made the reservations because it was their first time there and I told them how great it was) and service was awful waited 30mins for our drink order & watched her cleaning tables and talking other people had to remind her. Even though serivce was bad i still tipped $ 5 so did my other three friends(we were a party of 8). Didnt know what others tipped… but I do know one of my friends refused to tip because the service. So while we were leaving we walked outside and talked a minute then our waitress followed us outside and said I must tip more. Didnt explain why … when I asked she was not clear. I was so embarassed and my friends got upset so instead of making a bigger scene I gave her another $ 5 and left. Its a shame because it was one of my favorite places but I WILLNOTGOBACK! totally embarassed.

The best buffet in town. Clean and has an excellent selection. Also has a sushi chef which is a step up for the usual Chinese buffet experience.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. It’s not bad, but its not great. The food selection is high, service is fine. Twice I have gone, just craving Chinese and twice I left feeling not 100% satisfied. The food is lacking in overall flavor and in some cases not as fresh as it should. Mindful, both times I arrived at peak hours of lunch and dinner. The sushi looks pretty but has some very, very odd flavors, real hit or miss. Others have had much better experiences in terms of food and flavor, just not hitting the spot for me.

Food is decent here and edible. Service isn’t great. There was a bit of a misunderstanding because we came at night around 830 and the waitress said the chef stop cooking at 930 and restaurant shuts down at 1030, but we only have 30 – 45 minutes to eat. According to my math, we have 2 hours to eat. Anyhow, we ate for and by the time we were done everything was put up and they were shutting down and the time was about 930.

I go there very often it is the best buffet/sushi bar I have been to. I’m a regular there and some of them even know my name they are experts with customer service and very friendly. The food is fantastic and very affordable especially if you catch the lunch special. I absolutely recommend The One.

We eat here pretty often. Most of the time it’s very good. Sushi is yummy. If you take your child make sure they charge child’s price. Most of the time they charge for adult I’ve noticed. They’ve started charging to take you drink to go when you are finished eating.

This Chinese buffet is by far the best I have ever had during my life. There is so much to choose from, the staff is great, the place is very clean. They have many TV screens for your viewing pleasure. I highly recommend this place!

The best of the Chinese buffets in town. As is always the case, a solid meal can be found if one chooses wisely.

For a small town restaurant, it’s pretty good. Lots of options of cooked and raw. My husband and I were passing by on our way to Arkansas and after seeing all the raving reviews we decided to check it out. Price — surprisingly cheap for what they offer(crab legs, raw oysters, sushi) and the variety Raws — all their rolls is a surplus of imitation crab and rice. Did not look appealing at all. My husband tried the sushi and said it was mediocre. He also braved the raw oysters. There’s quite a bit there and looked fresh. Cooked — I tried the general tso’s chicken and orange chicken and it’s like biting into a rock. Dry, not crunchy at all and they both tasted the same. There is actually quite a bit of veggie options and it all tasted very good. They had a variety of fried food too that was good. Dumplings was quite tasty especially with the soy sauce provided. Their stir-fry noodles was good too. Overall, I’d give a four stars if it wasn’t that it made me run for the bathroom almost immediately afterwards. And that’s eating strictly cooked food! I’d go again if I pass by as it was quite tasty for a good price and only one bathroom trip(vs multiple).

This place has the best chinese food in Texarkana. However, that being said, this is texarkana, a place lacking in good food options, and you must take that with a grain of salt. Most dishes are pretty good if you’re there when it’s busy, and they are brining out new batches. Otherwise, expect the overcooked vegetables that have been sitting there. Seafood is good if you’re lucky and are there during a fresh shipment. Overall, typical buffet that satisfies the craving for chinese food in a town lacking good Asian restaurants.

Oh, I appreciate you. I so appreciate you. I really do. That’s all I want to say but since you deserve a good review, I will try and write what my mouth has felt while I was eating. Why did that time have to end? Sigh. I knew there had to be a Chinese or Japanese, or some kind of Asian buffet in town somewhere but just hadn’t quite found it. I had heard of a mediocre Chinese buffet but sounded like it was just Chinese food and while that’s great, I’m not about that. So when I saw in the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce page that they were doing a ribbon cutting, I knew I had to check it out. It just so happened that I had a lunch meeting and I suggested we come to The One, and we all gleefully jumped with joy(mostly in our hearts — I jumped physically) and went there. It looks nice with a little touch of sparkle; cleaner, brighter, and has a little twinkle, which sets it apart from the neighborhood Chinese restaurants I’m used to. And after walking around the buffet table, I am certain that it is. I only got 5 plates in but three were of sushi and sashimi. They did a good job of getting fresh things in for the grand opening, I hope that is the way it is all the time. May I mention how deliciously slimy the raw squid was. It was divine! The wasabi could have been more concentrated but that can be easily remedied by loading up on it. They have a hibachi but I didn’t use it so I don’t know what it’s like, but I’m sure I’ll be back shortly to experience it. The fried rice, lo-mein and other staple carb-heavy dishes were by the hibachi. Then there were about 2 other full bars and 3 half bars(as in the width of it, so there are about 9 lengths of food to choose from). Something unique and I had never seen was that there was a whole roasted turkey on the buffet bar. Just there with some carving utensils in case you needed to get your turkey on. I don’t think this is how they do every lunch, with the crawfish and shrimp on ice piled a couple feet high and all the fixins, but if it is more power to them. But today was a special grand opening day with 10% of the proceeds going to St. Jude. Overall a good place to spend a lunch or dinner time. But next time, I’m bringing people with an appetite! I felt like a hog going for 5 dishes since the ladies I were with ended mostly at 1 dish. Normally I just feel like a pig going for 8 – 10, maybe 12…

Excellent food, so why the one star? The servers are like a gang of surly dock workers. One almost ran into us with a tray of waters, and although we apologized he rolled his dum dum eyes at us. Save the attitude weasel face. The waitress had a hovering(in a bad way) quality. It was as if she expected us to steal the chop sticks. After the bill was delivered she stood there and stared at us like one of the fried crawfish from the buffet. Thirty dollars was steep, but there was some good seafood. I paid with three tens, but still Miss Deadstare had to carefully count it at the table. Coming here is like being in a very well fed prison camp. Enjoy.

My wife and I travel through Texarkana several times a year and have eaten at many restaurants in the area. We liked for a Chinese restaurant in the past and tried the one that was suggested to us by 3 different people. It was barely so so. We sometimes eat at a buffet but not often as my wife doesn’t always like them. I read the one review and drive past the place and it was packed, a very good sign for the late hour at a buffet. I asked and was told The One had been open about 4 months. The interior looked as thought the previous owners had run a steak house out of the place but the new owners did a good job adding to the fixtures and décor turning into an Asian themed restaurant. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. The hot food looked fresh. Not like it had been sitting for hours in the steam tables. They also had Sushi which I generally avoid at a Chinese Buffet. The Sushi was wonderful! The fish was fresh and it all was well prepared. I loved it. My wife and I loved the Crab Rangoons. She said they were the best she had ever had. I gave this place 5 stars as it was clean, the food was fresh and it was good. We will definitely be back! You should give it a try.
