Holy heartburn — and that’s no matter what you order. How do you get insta-heartburn from grilled fish?! Apparently, Cheddars has the recipe. Average service, watered down flavored teas and lemonades, greasy croissants, and average desserts. Yep, that about sums up my impression of this place.

We’ve enjoyed eating at Cheddars in Missouri when visiting family, so we’ve been looking forward to trying our fairly new, local Cheddars for some time now, but wanted to wait until the staff were broken in and the kinks were worked out. We weren’t disappointed. The interior is very nice and they were quite busy given it was mid-afternoon on a Friday. The food was very good and the portion sizes generous — in other words, a very good value. More on that later. Service was attentive and better than average for a family restaurant. I tend to drink a lot of water and our server brought me a fresh glass(with a lemon slice) each time my glass was nearly empty. However, he never took the empty glasses away, so our table had a collection of 5 glasses for the two of us by the time we were done with our meal. In fact, I found it odd that dishes weren’t cleared until we got up to leave, so the table was littered with dishes from appetizer, salad and entrees, as well as the aforementioned water glasses. This is my one criticism. The food was also quite good. Texans be warned that the salsa served with the chips is more sweet than spicy, but made for an interesting chance of pace. My chicken pot pie was delicious — creamy & hearty — and the chicken was amazingly tender. As mentioned, the food was a very good value. Total cost for two entrees(we had a coupon for our app and a house salad is included with the pot pie) came to only $ 16! And we couldn’t eat it all so we even have leftovers to snack on later! To summarize: — very good food, — attentive service, — nice interior, and — remarkably good value. In short, winner, winner chicken dinner!

I’m writing this review as I am sitting in this restaurant. I am absolutely so disappointed in how my party has been treated tonight. The worst part is is we haven’t even ordered our food yet. No wonder why this place only has 2 ½ stars. They made a mistake, which I understand mistakes happen… But, when I addressed the mistake, they turned it around and blamed it on us. I will never ever return to this restaurant and I suggest that no one else does either.

Horrible customer service, could not believe how unprofessional the manager was. I will never come back to this place or recommend it to anyone.

Terrible Terrible service… onion rings came out as a VERYCOLD appetizer. Never got our food after sitting there over 25 minutes. The manager on duty came out he was not very friendly he said I’m sorry, we decided to leave he said Bye Bye… and it was NOT busy. This Colony locations Sucks! Never again!

From the beginning to the end the service was awful! The food was good, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of service & the amount of time you’ll wait for the terrible service!

Cheddar’s is one of my favorite restaurants. I was so excited to hear one was coming to The Colony! Great food and not too pricey. Their ribs are to die for. Each time I’ve been to this location, I have had very friendly service. Aside from the really loud background music that every Cheddar’s location has, I’ve had a wonderful experience each time.

We went to this location of cheddars on Friday night. After other experiences at Cheddars we were expecting much more. Our server was very inattentive at one point I waited for a bottled beer for 15+ minutes. My food was cold when arriving at the table. The list could go on… In short I would choose another location of interested in this restaurant.

Great Painkillers!!! They have a limit of 2, but delicious. The coconut on the glass is the best!

Cheddars is your standard chain«American» food restaurant. This one opened near the Nebraska Furniture Mart, but got such bad initial reviews, we decided to wait until they worked out the kinks. Several months later we decided to stop. I had not been to a Cheddars in 10 years. We went on a week night and there was a very nice crowd. The décor is nice and cozy. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. I ordered the New Orleans Pasta and hubby ordered Ribeye steak with baked potato and green beans. We also ordered the croissants with honey on the side. Our dinner was served in about 20 minutes, so we ate the croissants while waiting. They were okay. I know everyone raves about them, but they were kind of dry and cold. I mean, I’ve had better croissants at LaMadeleine’s. The pasta dish was huge. I had been eating for about 15 minutes and it did not look like I had made a dent in the pasta. It had a good amount of meat and good flavor. I tasted my husband’s green beans and I wasn’t too impressed. Overall, it was standard chain restaurant meal. Nothing special, just a place to get a bite. Would I go back? Sure, but would not be overly enthusiastic about it.

Stopped by for a quick, no-frills Sunday meal. We had some service issues in the beginning. Once I got a manager involved, he ensured we were well taken care of. I would generally group Cheddar’s with the likes of Chili’s, Applebee’s or TGI Fridays. Based on today’s experience, I think Cheddar’s offers higher quality food for a better value. If this location can get their service/kitchen figured out, they’ll have a winning combination. PROS: — The building and grounds are beautiful because it’s brand new. Definitely the nicest Cheddar’s I’ve ever been to. — I liked the videos running in the lobby which shows how they make their food from«scratch». It’s part of their«Scratch Kitchen» branding. I hope it’s true. — You can’t beat the value. Two adults. Two entrees. Two Drinks. Twenty dollars. Wow! Hard to beat that for the quality. McDonald’s is more expensive. CONS: — Staff seemed disorganized. We were seated at a table and waited 10 minutes. No server greeted us or offered to take our drink order. I had to flag down a manager to get a server assigned to our table. — Food was pretty greasy. Tortilla chips were dripping with oil. The french fries and chicken tenders were not crispy but a little soggy. It’s obvious they sat in oil for too long. I’ve had much better at other Cheddar’s locations. — All the tables around us had issues with food coming out of the kitchen. One table was told the kitchen ran out of ribs. The other table received a steak that was undercooked. While we didn’t have any food related issues, the kitchen issues weren’t isolated. The manager was running around apologizing to people everywhere.

Still love Cheddars and their Tilapia(without the mango salsa). It’s a great place for home cooking with great taste. We sit in the bar so we can get in and out quicker. Cheese fries here are the real deal and not some fake cheese like other places.

So we recently tried this place and it was AWFUL. The food was clearly all previously frozen and tasted so bad. The service wasn’t great either. My family and I would rather eat at McDonald’s than eat at cheddars again. Never go here! Food: Awful Service: Ok

This place is always packed so I was expecting a great dining experience. It was just ok. Their drinks are creative and very reasonably priced. I had a Pain Killer, all I needed was one. Service was average, probably because it was so packed. The food was just average. We had the Wisconsin cheese bites, I was expecting breaded cheese curds. It tasted more like mozzarella bites, nothing earth shattering. I had the Ribeye, it was very fatty and I ended up just bringing it home for my dog. I’d go back for drinks but nothing on the menu stood out.

I had a burger, fries, and a beer. The venue Super nice inside. The finishing is spectacular. Everything feels first class. Even the music volume in the bathrooms was just right. This place is built for volume and you can tell. It kind of reminds me of a burger /sandwich /homestyle /focused Cheesecake Factory. This is a good thing. I like me some Cheesecake Factory. The Service Well, this part was not so great. The server was pleasant. However, we were sat in a corner table and I think she forgot about us a few times. You can almost always get two beers out of me but she never even asked. Also, she forgot to bring me the french fries. I got her attention and finally got the fries and also asked for some yellow mustard. I was nearly finished with the burger when she finally got back to us with the mustard. The Food My burger was super good, mustard or not. The fries, once i got them, were hot and delicious. Summary I would go back in a second. I think we showed up at an odd time ~ 3PM. Which is often a shift change. I think we got unlucky on the service. The food was a hit across the board. My mom had a club and potato soup. It was also good. I am giving it 4 stars. The service needs some attention which very well could, and probably was, a fluke. Happy Unilocaling! Rick

My wife and I decided to give them a shot tonight even after reading the mixed reviews. We were able to get seated relatively quickly around 6:30pm on a Friday night but they did start getting busy by the time we left. I would guess the wait was about 15 min by the time we left. The table we were given was clean and we had no issues with cleanliness or dirty silverware as others have experienced. It was clean and comfortable. The server was where we ran into the opportunity. Our server was Kurt. He was polite and did not do anything wrong directly. You could however clearly tell he is not a seasoned server and was struggling to keep up with his tables. When you asked for something he would listen and leave to get it. However, if he was interrupted on the way he was side tracked easily and needed another reminder. This happen several times during our meal and Kurt would apologize and correct it right away. I think Kurt needs to continue to focus on his ability to multi-task and juggle multiple requests. Overall he did an OK job and if he worked on this issue he would be much better. The food itself was actually really good. My wife had the vegetable dinner. She said the meal was seasoned and cooked very well. I had the Monte Cristo with fries and all were cooked perfectly. The outside was nice and crispy and the inside nice and soft with the melted cheese just right. The two star deduction was in part for Kurt and having to request things multiple times. The other reason was the girl at the desk who seated us. She took my wife and to a small table in the corner against the wall that barely seated two people and a little table for plates barely. I asked if she could get a table or booth was a little bigger. I am a big guy over 6′ and like a little room. I has also planned to order several appetizers to taste and write about so we needed more room. I was very rudely told by this young lady she has this table for a small booth the same size. I stated I would prefer a regular booth or table. She then stated«Since there is only 2 of you these are the only tables we have for you!» So basically she told me I can’t have a larger table for two people. However, when I looked around the room I saw several booths with just two people in them. So clearly this is not the case and was very aggravated she would behave this way. We took the small table and did not order any appetizers we planned. This young girls decision to behave this way cost the restaurant at least an EXTRA $ 50 which in the grand scheme of things means nothing to them. So instead of a $ 75 ticket they got a $ 24 ticket. Which I find interesting we would have spent as much as a 3 or 4 person table anyway. Overall you can tell they are still struggling to get it right in this new location. I would hope they would have been in better shape after being open this long. They have the monopoly in this location at the moment. However, as new places open up coming in 2016 they will quickly go out of business if they don’t take this feedback Unilocalers are given them and correct it. Good Luck Cheddars hope you can pull it off. I am rooting for you!

This is a good restaurant… but it’s located in front of Nebraska Furniture Mart, so view it like a restaurant in front of a tourist site. It’s slammed… all the time. The servers we had were nice, but so swamped that the service was mediocre. They really should just raise the price and everyone would be happier. The chicken fried steak is the bomb. One of the best ever. The salads are meh, but everything else I’ve had was pretty good. Drinks are reasonable. I like this chain but I would only go during non peak hours. The line can easily be an hour. Maybe when other restaurants open it will help. Right now it seems like no one wants to cross 121 to go to other restaurants.

We came for lunch on a Friday. It was pretty busy. Our waiter was great. There were 5 of us, and we got two appetizers onion rings and cheese balls. Both awesome. Good took awhile, and luckily it was just family catching up. I would not suggest using your lunch break in a big group if on a time crunch. I ordered grilled buffalo wrap and salad. It was good, but I asked for no ranch or cheese, it was on there. :(

I’m a fan of Cheddars and I’m glad that they finally made out here to the colony. It’s right next to the Nebraska mart giant. Great bar with tv’s right off the bat, and service is great! Great food and even better atmosphere than other Cheddars’ I’ve been to before. Get a crescent roll and walk through the revolving door! *Download the FAVOR app! My wait on a busy Saturday night wasn’t to bad. Pros– Great prices. **Cons– Silverware was dirty– I end up asking for plastic wear .My 9 year old niece had to ask the server twice for a refill. And lastly we all woke up with food poisoning this morning. Needless to say we won’t be returning to this Cheddars location again.

I had a great experience at the new Cheddar’s location. I sat at the bar and the staff was very attentive, friendly and helpful. My food came out quickly and was delicious, chicken pot pie — yum! Their honey butter croissants are where it’s at. We had to get an extra order of them because one per person is just not enough. I’ll be back soon — sitting at the bar watching all those amazing drinks going out made me thirsty! In addition to my own experience being top notch I was really impressed by the actions of one of the bartenders while I was there. He was making a beverage for someone in the dining room — the order-er did not want the standard sweet and sour mix to be used, but they ordered a drink that required some kind of sweet and sour so he hand squeezed lemons and limes(per their request) and added some sugar and maybe honey — I can’t remember all the ingredients, but I was listening as he was explaining it to the trainee(maybe?) shadowing him. I can see how this would be a huge pain, but without knowing that I was paying attention and knowing the actual client was on the other side of the restaurant he did not show any annoyance what so ever at having to go above and beyond for such a picky guest. Way to go Cheddar’s bartender!

The food here is really good and they give you a lot. I got the top sirloin steak and chicken tenders. The steak is the best steak you will ever have. And the chicken tenders are to die for. I could eat here all day every day. Iv had almost everything on the menu(and haven’t gained a single pound). I love the monster cookie and could eat it everyday. I think Cheddars has 2.5÷5 stars because of the events leading up to getting their food and the fact that they are under staffed. for example the host seat people at tables someone is still cleaning and the customer gets mad. there are like a million open tables and they sit someone at a table someone is still cleaning. this makes no sense at all. i understand a server has a specific section but i’m sure they can pick up an extra table. they weren’t even busy and neither was the server. also the host won’t let people sit at the tables they want. The issue isn’t the food it’s the fact they are always busy and they fall behind when it is busy. the servers have like 4 – 5 tables at once and they can’t handle that. the host gives one server 4 – 5 tables and it’s to much for the server. It’s kind of hard to be on top of your game when you have 4 – 5 tables at once. They are understaffed for servers and other positions as well. they have been busy since the first day they’ve opened and they still fall behind. if they know they are going to be busy during the weekend then they need to have more people working. maybe somewhere along the line someone isn’t doing there job because they have barely enough people to get the job done. i think they have enough people to get the job done but some people don’t want to do their job. i think the managers care about the things that effect the restaurant but they don’t have time to care about everything. They are to busy with worrying about other stuff.

0 star Please UGH! I have literally sat and waited over 30 minutes with nasty plates on the table, no refills, no extra napkins, no how’s your food, I’m so livid with this horrible experience that I am just out of characters
