Took my car in to NTB in the colony for an oil change and inspection. I was treated with extreme politeness. The inspection passed but I was advised to have front right axle changed due to leakage; that it should be done ASAP as it could cause me serious problems and was quoted $ 284.00 to have the work done. I made an appointment for the following day. After speaking to my son-in-law, he suggested I have his mechanic at Car Care Central check it in Plano. They said there was nothing wrong with the axle and that my car(38,000 m) was in great shape. Really disappointed that businesses continue to take advantage. I wonder if being an elderly woman made me an easy target?

This place is so rude to me. After reading these reviews I can’t trust them with working on my new vehicle. They were commenting on everything they didn’t know and did not seem really knowledgable at all.

Staff here is exceptional. After being told by my dealership that it would cost $ 120 to replace my 2 rear brake lights, NTB did it for $ 22.50. In and out — no problems and no worries. Its important to understand that building trust with your customer, especially in the auto repair business, is what will make or break you. I will definitely come back here because they didn’t try to get more than what the service was worth, and the service was exceptional all the way through. Thanks guys!

I’ll start off with a positive. They did let me keep my car there overnight since I couldn’t pick it until the next day. However, when I got there the next morning. They installed 2 of my directional tires the wrong way. Did not offer a discount after I waited another hour once I pointed out they did it incorrectly. Will not be coming back.

The short version for the update, NTB warped my rotors and expected me to pay out of pocket for their negligence. In my opinion, the mechanic over torqued the lug nuts when putting the tires on, thus warping the rotors. After trying to turn the rotors 3 times on their brake lathe, they were ruined. NTB expected ME to purchase a new set of rotors for my vehicle with 22,000 miles. On average, under normal driving habits, rotors for this vehicle should last about 70,000 miles. I was told by Zach, the Service Manager, it is common for a sports car to need new rotors at this mileage and that his mechanic was not the cause of this problem. I strongly disagree. In this case, it is likely new rotors are needed because the mechanic over torqued the lug nuts because he doesn’t know what he is doing or is to lazy to hand torque the lug nut! He then said there is no proof that I didn’t have this problem before bringing the car in for new tires and suggested that I was trying to «pull something over them», He then offered to do me a «favor» by only charging me cost for the rotors and 1 hour labor. Let me tell ya, rotors aren’t cheap! I went ahead and accepted his«favor» because my only other option was to drive a car with damaged rotors. I had new rotors put on and picked the car up the following day. You won’t believe this, when I drove the car after new rotors were installed, I noticed the steering wheel was still shaking! Unbelievable!!! The following day I took the vehicle to another NTB in the area and they fixed me right up, treated me with respect and didn’t seem surprised about my experience. The icing on the cake of this lousy experience, after NTB in The Colony had my car TWICE to fix it, all 4 tires were still out of balance and the car was out alignment(yes, I paid to have it aligned as well). This is truly a shame because I have frequented this store since moving to the area and as you can see by my earlier post, I planned on going there again. I haven’t given up hope on NTB but I will never trust my car with the store located in The Colony.
