We asked for a recommendation at our hotel, and they said go to Momma Jane’s. It’s a great place! Their menu goes on and on. It would take months to try everything on that menu. The food was very good, and the service was friendly and quick. Also funny. The staff all have a great sense of humor. We had, among other things, a pancake with home-made syrups, including cocoanut, and it was great. The ham and corned beef hash were also excellent. Our table was covered with plates. If we’re ever in The Dalles again, we’ll be sure to stop by for another wonderful meal!

A clean, comfortable atmosphere. Our server was very efficient and helpful. The hash browns are very good, as is the bacon. The pancake was the best I’ve eaten. Love the variety of syrups!

We got another appraisal request in The Dalles area, so guess where we went for brunch? You betcha! Back to Momma Jane’s again, and we didn’t regret it for a minute. This time, I had the Stuffed French Toast with Lemon Sauce. As we say in Hawai’i, broke da mout’!! The French Toast came with cream cheese in the middle, and I requested the lemon syrup extra because I love it so much. Hubby had Blueberry Pancakes, and since he was generous and let me have a bit or two(I added the yummy coconut syrup(homemade, of course, like the lemon), and it was mouthwatering good. Our server was Amber, and she was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided really fast service. Dawneva was equally friendly and helpful, bringing us a couple of items when Amber was busy. Between the two of them, we felt right at home. Momma Jane’s is really worth a stop if you’re in the area; you won’t be disappointed.

The cost was worth it. Pancakes served on a platter. a PLATTER. I’m a big guy but only ate one .the lemon one… and it was GOOD. Side of sausage was four links. very good.

Very prompt on coffee refills. All you can eat pancakes, if that’s your thing. Pretty run of the mill everything else, but definitely a nice local diner.

Previously Pat’s Pancake House, Mama Janes continues a long tradition of high quality American favorites for breakfast. Easily recognized choices with special focus on fruit topped pancakes and waffles. Daily specials provide visitors the chances to explore new choices, hot coffee flows to fill your cup with smiles from friendly staff. I easily recommend Mamma Janes for locals and those passing through The Dalles and The Gorge. Enjoy Rating — Traditional Location of Choice!

Great selection of food and a friendly staff. Walking in makes you feel like your walking into that place you always want to be. Portions are amazing especially for the price.

Great little breakfast place in The Dalles. I’ve been around for about 2.5 years and hadn’t yet stopped in there and I’m glad I did. Great home-like atmosphere. Felt like I went to grandmas house for breakfast. Menu was very diverse and everything was very reasonably priced. Went with a classic bacon, eggs, and hash browns breakfast. It was excellent! Did NOT have to wait too long for service or food. All staff was very helpful and nice. Nothing but good things to say about this place. I will definitely be going back again!

We arrived at 1:30 for a late breakfast/lunch. Food was very good, those using breakfast syrup enjoyed the selection of homemade and traditional syrups. Their description of super salads were spot on – the salad was huge. I posted a photo and they have a wide variety of lunch items. However, what keeps this from a higher rated review was that at 1:55, closed signs went into the windows,(we knew they closed at 2:00, so we were not dawdling) and not long afterwards, the vacuuming began. I understand the staff was anxious to go home(we overheard a few comments about surviving another day) but I am certain there were other closing tasks that could be attended to without making your last couple of tables feel so unwelcome.

Delicious breakfast! I had the blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberries inside AND blueberry compote. They were huge and I was so happy when they arrived to the table. My boyfriend got an omelette, he was more than satisfied. They also have little flavored creamers for the table which we loved. Also, homemade syrup on the table, try coconut it’s the best.

So glad I checked Unilocal for a breakfast restaurant!!! I missed the turn into Denny’s(only place I knew I could get breakfast @ 11:30 am) Down home family feel restaurant. Food was excellent too! I had the buckwheat pancakes with bacon & poached eggs. Large servings … Big enough to share! Wait staff very friendly and fun to chat with even though they were busy! Thanks for a great experience

Ate here a couple weeks ago. I’m in my third trimester of my pregnancy and my mom and I went here after I had an ultrasound to catch up. First the all you can eat pancakes This is my number one craving and they were fluffy and perfect. We both enjoyed our meals except my mom and I don’t like fried country potatos. Why can’t they just be cooked in a pan? My mom got the avocado eggs Benedict or something like that. Holy yum Will be back. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive, sweet but not pushy.

Yummy yummy yum!!! Traveling through the area, and the Unilocal reviews sounded good so we stopped in. The décor isn’t much but the friendly waitress and the DELICIOUS food definitely make it THE go to place when you’re in the area. Hubby had the cinnamon roll French toast(raisins or no raisins, your choice) which he topped with their homemade coconut syrup(which he almost drank straight out of the container he loved it so much.) I had the ham steak with eggs and opted for the squirrel pancakes which they’ll allow you to do. The honey cream cheese topping was luscious, and I loved all the almonds. Of note, portions are generous. I asked for just one pancake as I had seen the fully loaded plates of food other patrons received and even then I could only eat half. Hubby only finished half of his order as well. Seriously, if you don’t want to feel bad about starving children somewhere, ask for one pancake(which still falls over the sides of the standard dinner plate so you won’t go hungry.) I cringed just a little inside seeing the untouched plates being cleared off the table.(and, I’m off my soap box.) I used the blackberry syrup, but they also had maple and homemade strawberry as well. We found out from the waitress that you can buy bottles of their homemade syrup. Unfortunately, we were on an extended road trip so we couldn’t guarantee we’d be able to keep the syrup cold the whole time. If we’re in the area again, going to definitely make this a destination stop…

Thank you yep! You led us here and oh did you make my kids super happy! The service was like really? Salt of the earth is what my old man would say. Just the way she explained the four syrups that they make in house, you can really tell they are proud of the food they put out! And it shows! These are some of the best pancakes and crepes we have ever had. We recommend the cinnamon roll french toast! Way good! Wish this place was in my town!

I wanted to take my little girl out for a special breakfast since she pulled out a tooth. Since we just moved to The Dalles, I wasn’t sure where to go. We ended up at Momma Jane’s pancake house. The place isn’t very big, but it’s was clean and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly wait staff. It’s a place where the old locals go and talk S#*t… Literately. As my daughter and I sat down, there was a group of old men in the corner talking about their farm and all the problems they were having. Some of the old men were just cussing up a storm, some laughing… all just having a good time. Let me just say… it was a very colorful time. Anyway… I ordered the vegetarian omelet with hash browns and sourdough toast. My daughter ordered some pancakes and strawberries with whip cream. Fast service. It only took about 5 – 10 minutes of waiting time for our food. Big sized portions, even for the kids. My daughter LOVED her pancakes with the whipped cream. My meal was pretty good too. The only complaint I had was the hash browns. They tasted a bit stale. I believe it was the oil they used to fry them in. Other wise… everything else was good. I’d go back again to give it another try.
