This location was great when first opened. Quantity and quality have gone down in recent weeks, as well as a small price increase. Used to go quite often, now maybe twice a month. Keep hoping it will recover, but so far, same problems when we go.

They make a hearty sandwich, just how we New Yorkers like it. Iced tea is good too. Definitely recommend.

Had great service today from the Manager Mike Hess, I ran into a little problem and he was wonderful to me and my husband, just wanted to send him a pat on the back! Also, spoke with the owner about my problem and how it was solved so eloquently! Bravo to Mike!

I have eaten here too many times to count. Usually get the«choose two». Have been able to try a lot of different combinations and no complaints. The salads are so big that it’s hard to eat the sandwich or potato that comes with it. The owners, a husband and wife team, work in the restaurant. He usually walks through the restaurant greeting guests and can be seen working in the kitchen. His wife is right there with him working behind the counter and greeting guests. The atmosphere is pleasant. The line to order moves quickly and the food is brought right to your table.

My mom and I stopped by here for a quick lunch before my hair appointment. We both ordered the Horseradish Roast Beef & Cheeder Grilled Sandwhich. It was so good!!! I would compare it to panera bread sandwhiches … maybe even better than panera. It is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Shortly after we recieved our food the manager stopped by our table to greet us and make sure everything was good… which it was. I will certainly be coming back to McAlister’s Deli for the Horseradish Roast Beef & Cheeder. Yum Yum!

Food was good! Very busy lunch crowd. The villages is quite a place, it was really interesting to see so many people driving around in custom made golf carts! Also, the shopping center here looks like the old west. All the building are made to look like they were there for a hundred years, they even had old painted and faded advertisements on the sides of the buildings. Really great attention to detail on all the buildings! Worth a trip over here just to see the shopping center if you are in central Florida.

I love McAlister’s Deli! And this location is super. The owners are always responsive to requests or suggestions. Clean and consistent with other McAlister’s I’ve visited. Prices are great too, especially for the combo options. Highly recommend!

Hype about this place makes you want to go. Try and resist! Had a Savannah Chopped salad. Well, even the chopping was poor. This salad supposedly had Gorgonzola cheese — just could not taste it on the salad. I like Gorgonzola but to not even taste such a strong cheese is really bad. Wife had Tuna salad sandwich and just the looks alone turned me off — looked more like a tuna paste! Have to say one good thing — the iced teas are HUGE! So big that they were difficult to even pick up. They have been open long enough to overcome start up issues. Therefore, my review is only 2 stars and I don’t recommend the place.

Good deli menu! Clean and friendly with reasonable prices too! In the middle of Sumter landing where there are many food venues, if you’re in the mood for deli, this is the place to stop! Homemade soups, and many salad choices too! Dinner menu also!

Food was average help very courteous and nice. Prices okay. Potato salad no, chicken on salad heavy on Rosemary with a lot of lettuce and a hunt for others and hot pastrami is on thin rye. More like Coney Island stand food, not a true deli pastrami. Just not to our taste standards but by the crowd we could be wrong. Did not try desserts went to Scooples for that.

Food great the only criticism I would offer is the coleslaw could be a little zippier The service was great people always coming around asking if you needed anything or wanted more water or a refill on your drink The prices were reasonable and the portions very generous

Working in the villages I was looking forward to this place opening, and I was not disappointed. It’s nice to have a lighter less expensive option for lunch that won’t give you the itis! Staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. I am a New York boy and sandwiches are an important part of life, and the y do them justice here. Always pretty quick and as I said very friendly. Soups and salads are as good as the sandwiches!

My husband and I stopped in for lunch the other day. This restaurant has been open for less than 1 week. Considering this, they were very well staffed and orderly, I ordered a tuna sandwich on ciabatta bread with a side of cole slaw and my husband had a ham & cheese on white bread with a cup of chicken dumpling soup. My husband enjoyed his meal. The ham was thinly sliced with a nice spicy mustard on it, and the soup was hot with plenty of chicken in it. On the other hand, my tuna salad sandwich was not as good. The tuna was swimming in mayonnaise. It was also not proportioned on the bread. The cole slaw was vinegar based, it was ok, but not to my personal liking. When an employee came by and asked how our meal was I told him that the tuna was like tuna soup in mayo. He responded that I ordered it on a ciabatta instead of the croissant in which it normally comes on. I told him that that would make no difference in the consistency of the tuna salad. He said nothing further and walked away. Just before we left, another employee asked us how our lunch was and I told her mine was terrible. She just looked at me and said nothing. This business has done quite a good job for just being opened EXCEPT do not have your employees ask the customer how there meal was unless they know how to properly respond. All they had to say was that they were sorry I didn’t enjoy my meal and will try to do better next time and I may have returned. Needless to say, I will not be patronizing this restaurant in the future.

My first visit to this new restaurant in The Villages. I’m very familiar with McAlister’s Deli from their location in Lansing MI. As with every new Restaurant opening in The Villages, the line is out the door for the first few weeks. Some restaurants anticipate that and staff appropriately, and others don’t. McAlister’s had plenty of staff on hand and moved the crowds through with no problems. As soon as a table was vacated, a member of the staff was cleaning it up. Lots of young people working here with a great attitude. I was offered a drink refill twice while eating my meal. Ordered the turkey melt with coleslaw. Everything was tasty, but the coleslaw could use a little kick. All in all, I great experience. I’ll be back often to try some of their other menu items. Good job, McAlister’s. Glad you made it to our community.
