How can you go wrong with the«Old Time General Store» concept? Well, really just take a look around this place. First off, I understand financial difficulties hit backwoods WV the hardest, but I don’t need a shop owner bawling to me about how tough it is to make a profit when you stock half of your store with consignment items. Make sure to check the expiration dates, I bought some Jam that was close to it’s expiration date, and saw the same brand at mountain made with expirations that were two years later. I’m almost tepid to try it. The other thing I bought, a «russian tea» mix that was a fundraiser for a(local church?) turned out to be not the greatest thing as well, not to mention the shopowner made us pay cash for it, since it was consignment. There’s a little glimmer of hope, given the dry and canned good selections in the front of the store, but I’d really like to see Colabrese return to it’s former old general store glory, with local made gifts, an old time candy counter(candy, sodas, stuff like you would find in the front half of a cracker barrel). and less«junky» made-in-china nick-nacks and expired paint.
