I come in here pretty regularly. Great food. Great staff. Goulash is awesome. Breakfast is too.

This is really solid diner food with better than average portions for the price. I’ve never left there feeling letdown. They’ve got a little something for everyone and a very friendly wait staff. It’s a real nice easy going place.

Late review, we were in on a weeknight last week. My wife started off with a Bloody Mary, it was excellent(so she said). I ordered the Mac’N’Cheese, and my wife went with the Crossantwich w/French Onion soup. Well, it was a very generous amount of mac & cheese I received, but it lacked any flavor at all, very bland. Had to add a decent amount of salt to make it palatable. My wife’s crossantwich, on the other hand, was very good, she enjoyed it. She also loved the French Onion soup. Service was stellar, Debbie, our waitress, was very friendly & attentive. So, even though our experiences were not the same, we intend to come back to JDT’s Brickhouse some time soon. Most likely breakfast, will write an update when that happens.

Our first visit here was on Father’s Day. The inside was very nice and clean with lots of comfortable seating. We were able to sit quickly and were immediately impressed with all the possibilities(especially the specials) and how affordable they were. We ordered the Cinnabun French Toast, the Huge Potato Pancake, and the sausage, egg, and cheese on French Toast. Everything was delicious! The Cinnabun French Toast could have been a little better in that it could have been made out of an actual cinnamon bun, but otherwise it was quite tasty. The staff was very friendly, but service was a bit slow(the table next to us got their order 1st even though we ordered first) — but let’s chalk that all up to the fact it was a holiday. We will definitely return to try lunch and dinner!

Had breakfast yesterday. I wanted eggs Benedict with spinach instead of ham. They were very accommodating. The eggs were done to perfection.

Real good home style food. Down to earth owners that don’t mind rolling up their sleeves to satisfy the customer. I took my mother here and she is very sensitive to soy and gluten(really, not just cuz the yoga group is) which makes it near impossible for her to eat out. The staff of Jdt provided her with a delicious meal conscious of her situation and made an honest effort to make sure she got a meal. It was amazing, mom left with a full belly and a smile too. This is my go to all around restaurant when I don’t know exactly what I want but want good food.

I came for breakfast and it was really goood. I had a special, bisquits and gravy. It was very good and was homemade. It was not packaged gravy, I think it should be a regular on the menu. My daughter had a bacon egg and cheese and it was very good. The bacon was excellent, It is trying to serve value oriented meals and I feel it is doing a good job at it. The staff is quite attentive. For these price points, the is a good resturant and deserves a try.

My family came here for dinner recently, and I really wanted to like JDT the first time round, what with the nice servers(owners used to work at Rozzi’s), and the cozy atmosphere. I got the goulash, but was a little underwhelmed because it definitely needed more seasoning. On the other hand, the gravy for the open face roast beef was a tad too salty. The burger and fries looked pretty good, but I wish they had a larger variety of burgers, like at Rozzi’s. I like that you can create your own burger, but I would also love to try some of JDT’s own concoctions! ;-) Now, with all that said, JDT definitely has great portion size and prices going for it. And, as mentioned earlier, nice staff and nice atmosphere. I will definitely be back here not only to support a local business, but also to give them another shot. Please get better and prove me wrong! :-)

Do you like«Goulash»? Wellif you do then you’ll find a treat at JDT’s. And, this is only one of the under $ 10.00 dishes for dinner. Everything else falls in line from there. You will like breakfast, lunch and dinner here: no issues just go try it. I also agree with the review above. The biggest thing is that this is regular New Enfland food, not the fancy overpriced upity stuff. Hope you enjoy as much as we have.

So far I have been to JDT’s 3 times since their opening in the old Thomaston Pizza and Seafood building… Once each for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have to say, this place is a breath of fresh air in Thomaston. This place is owned and run by people who have been in the Thomaston restaurant scene for years and they are stepping things up a notch. The menu is similar to what you would find at Rozzi’s and the like, typical American fare. The décor inside is fantastic with professional photos from around town adorning the walls. It is surprisingly large inside as well. The breakfast was very solid. French toast and the Roger’s Favorite kielbasa scramble were both tasty. For lunch, I had the«Flood of 55» Philly Cheesesteak. This monster sandwich is made from their house made prime rib which they shave. It is loaded with peppers and onions and cheese on top of a fresh toasted garlic bread sub roll. A+ on this sandwich. One of the best Philly’s around for sure! For dinner, I had the prime rib served cajun style. Super tender, perfectly cooked, and excellent cajun spices… not just some blackening powder thrown on there. My wife had the NY strip with the gorgonzola crust. That was fantastic as well! Unbelievable steaks for under $ 15! Overall, this place is great to have in town. The menu is pretty standard, but the prime rib(either Philly or the steak) is where it’s at! People have been packing in there consistently and I don’t see things slowing down if they keep things going they way they have been!
