Branchton Farms

Though I’m all for supporting farmers markets, their produce has never been very appealing… and neither are their prices. I’ve come several times hoping it’d be different and that maybe it was just the crop, but I’ve felt the same each time. Plus, I agree with one of the other reviews– their customer service isn’t great either. I’d prefer to drive over to plant city for the real goods! P;

The service is not that great… The produce and the cheese go bad quickly from sitting outside all day… They are always out of eggs… they are over price and no organic produce.

Loved this place. I recently moved to new tampa and stumbled upon this awesome place.. Family owned local business. They have organic produce. The sweetest watermelons I’ve ever had. And they have this super friendly cat which is one of the reasons I go there lol the owners are nice and the prices are reasonable. Let’s not forget the prices of bananas. They get fresh things every morning. The milk is straight unpasteurized from the cow. they have a wide range of honey as well and freshly squeezes orange juice. Glad I found this place

I adore this little farmer’s market! I was a regular at one on Hillsborough that really *wasn’t* a farmer’s market but a large indoor warehouse where restaurants stocked up and prices were cheap. I’ve gone to this one a few times now and always get amazing produce at awesome prices. It is a bit off the beaten path but totally worth it as I’ve gotten 2x the produce here for the same price as I would have at my favorite grocery store. Their freshly bottled orange juice is so great for smoothies and you can’t beat the prices on herbs! Be sure if you want bananas though (4 pounds for $ 1!!) you get there bright and early Sunday mornings to collect. They also have local honeys, jams, cheeses, milk, and eggs. I bought the most delicious pineapple yesterday that was already a perfect golden color and when I cut it all up it was DELICIOUS. The woman behind the counter even told me that I should save the core of it, drizzle honey on top and grill. Oh how I wish I had a grill! Such a friendly family run business and I save up my produce shopping so I can go here and recommend you all do the same! We need more local shops and we need to support them! :)

For years I’ve spent my weekends running up and down Morris Bridge Road avoiding alligators, snakes and high speed travelers. Over that time, I’ve watched, from a distance, Branchton Farms Farmers’ Market grow from a small, backyard operation into a much larger one. In its current form, Branchton Farms now has a cooling case, an enclosed area to store a cash register, a large roof overhead and four (or five?) large display shelves where they showcase local produce at a fairly reasonable price. Not everything on display comes directly from the Branchton Farms’ gardens. Some of the fruits and veggies are imported from local farmers in the area. While the resulting fruits and veggies may be smaller than ones grown out of state, the taste is much bigger. These little guys don’t have the mileage that those other fruits and veggies do.
Two weeks ago I reacquainted myself with the market. I was very impressed with what they had going on. I fondled some sweet taters, ogled the greens and caressed the butternut squash. They had beautiful peppers in five different flavors, a number of different apple varieties, tomatoes, greens, mushrooms, citrus, avocado and squash. They don’t have the selection of other Farmers’ Market but that’s to be expected if they are depending only on what local farms provide.
I look forward to watching this place continue to grow and expand. It has now become a regular part of our grocery shopping rotation.
