Other than the 7-Eleven stores located closest to my house, this is the one I probably visit the most, due to its proximity to work. During a school week, I probably stop into this store an average of 2.5 times. Usually, I’m just fulfilling my Slurpee quota for the week, but sometimes I have another purpose in mind(gas, ATM, last-minute school supplies). So you’ll understand if I have somewhat of a know-it-all complex when it comes to this particular Kwik-E-Mart. As far as 7-Elevens go, I’ve been to better, but I’ve also visited a lot worse(see here: ). This one is happily in the middle of the spectrum. The staff is a plus side. The folks who work here are polite and friendly, and don’t short you on the manners(‘sir’ and ‘have a good day’ are commonplace vernacular for all hands on deck). Even when I’m just picking up something to drink, the clerks here make each stay a pleasure. Although I’m rarely the only customer in the store, there somehow never seems to be a line at the counter… like magic. One thing that has always bugged me about this store is the parking situation. The parking lot is small and stuffy, and I have had several close-calls with other patrons while backing out of the parking spaces. On a related note, getting back onto westbound 88th Ave(to I-25) from this store is a pain in the ass without a traffic light here, but here’s the solution: Turn right onto Dawson, and take a shortcut over to Washington. Don’t bother waiting for traffic to slow down on 88th. Another thing I’ve noticed about this place is that its not the cleanest convenience store I’ve ever set foot in… the floors and nacho/hot dog bar are especially troublesome in this respect. This should be easy to ignore, but for some reason, I always take notice. In essence, this 7-Eleven is exactly what most Americans have come to expect of their corporate convenient stores: quick service, easy-going staff, and minor hassles along the way.
