I really like this place but over the past 3 months I have been there twice(most recent yesterday) and both times they were closed. first time for inventory and this time they just said closed for a few days. I think about a week or so. I treat myself every once in a while to their cupcakes and it’s a let down when I drive over and they’re closed. They have no website to go to to find out this kind of information. I hope there is some way that whoever runs this place can see this and put up a website to inform their customers that they will be closed for certain dates. When you look this place up on Google it lists it as open. It’ll be a long time for me to want to go over there again. I don’t want to get there and find the place closed again for some random reason.

I was thrilled to find a little bakery shop hidden away in my old stomping grounds! I couldn’t wait to stop in for a bagel and support my local business! It was 9:30 on a Sunday morning. They weren’t too busy but I noticed the man in front of me that ordered a coffee and bagel waited a long time for both. Therefore, I prepared myself to wait. Luckily I brought my husband along so at least I had someone to wait with. Ordered a bagel with cream cheese, a coffee and a breakfast sandwich = $ 20 which is pretty dang steep. But that isn’t why this gets three stars! The bagels and coffee were ok — not worth mentioning. The service was TERRIBLE. Oh the wait. The long boring wait. And every single staff member looked like they were bored, disinterested and not a single one smiled. Gave off that feeling like how dare we bother them with our order. I really wanted to love this place but the service ruined it for me. Take away: ok food at a high price with a staff that couldn’t care less if you came back.

My wife and I have been longtime customers, when the store was«The Bagel Bakery.» We have ordered cupcakes for virtually every family event over the last three years, and have given numerous recommendations for this place. This time, we ordered cupcakes for my daughters first birthday party, and were extremely disappointed in the quality of the cupcakes that we received. We even ordered a special cupcake just for our daughter, which looked like it had not been given any effort whatsoever. all of the cupcake decorations were done incredibly haphazardly, the cupcakes were provided to us in a box that is not designed to house cupcakes. All of the cupcakes moved around because of this, and several of them ended up upside down in the box. In addition to the decorations, the cupcakes were clearly made at least a day prior to our event, and were extremely dry it and did not taste good. This is incredibly disappointing especially given the fact that this was for our daughters very first birthday. We were embarrassed to serve these cupcakes to our numerous guests. We do not live near this establishment, and every time we order from them we have to go out of our way to get them from this location. We are incredibly disappointed to see this quality of work. If this is the kind of product that they are going to charge for, we will be finding a new place to do business. After posting a review on Facebook I received a response back from«Chris.» Who posted a copy of THEIR hand written order, saying«This is what you ordered, it says nothing about this being a first birthday, or for a special cupcake for the baby.» However, we EMAILED photos of our party colors to the store, informing them of what we wanted. We have documented proof of this, however, «Chris» still states we never told them a thing and insists on using THEIR order sheet(the one they use when THEY are writing down orders) in an attempt to make it look like it is our fault we did not get what we wanted. He then went on to state that the reason our cupcakes where so bad was because I was«obviously a bad driver, and ruined the cupcakes.» «You’re bad driving is clearly our fault.» «Chris» tried to delete the response before anyone could see it, however, I get notifications on my phone, and saw it immediately. However, he has since deleted it. If this is the kind of business they are running, I will no longer spend my money there. Furthermore I will be happy to steer people clear of this place. Not sure what happened here, but when your employees take the order wrong, make it wrong, and make it terrible, and then you try to blame the customer, you’re clearly not in the right line of work. The owners of this place should be embarrassed that they are allowing their business to be run like this.

I’ve lived across the street from the bagel bakery for a long time with my family, and unfortunately I’d have to say most of my times there have not been very great. The employees have all been very strange over the years, no smiles or passing conversation, just deadpan expressions and mediocre service! For example — I went there this morning to get a couple of bagels for my family, and the woman at the cashier even asked me if I wanted them toasted. I said yes, except both of the bagels came to me cold, I would say even stale. If you go here to get baked goods for a birthday or other celebration, you might be let down, as this bagel shop is infamous for getting orders wrong, wrong, wrong. I think your experience may only be good if you want to get one or two cupcakes or bagels behind the counter. But, if you want a bagel or cupcake done right, I’d honestly just go to king Soopers and get one there instead. Lox bagel was good though!

I found this place by pure accident a few days ago, as I was looking for a place to get some change. I decided to try a salt bagel to go while I was at it. Staff members were really friendly, and there was no wait. DAMN. The salt was wicked strong — like, burn-your-lips strong. As I had never experienced salt like that even on the biggest, most authentic of other bagels and soft pretzels, for a second, I was really hoping I hadn’t gotten hold of some road salt by accident! Good thing I had a huge bottle of water on me, but it took a good 45 minutes for the salt to stop burning. Okay for 89 cents before tax, but I did note that the size of the bagel could’ve been a bit bigger — it seemed like the hole was larger than the norm, with the remaining surface area and volume being a bit skimpier than usual as a result. I might pop back in sometime to try out some of the other bakery items, but just a warning to skip the salt bagel!

It just a coffee shop with bakery on the side. Plain bagel and honey almond cream cheese with small coffee $ 5 I don’t think the shop had or was intended as a mass or generally good bakery. I find this place as it is I’ll come back and try their cupcakes. They have soy and almond creamer for their Boyer coffee. No Splenda packets

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. No one thing was particularly horrible, but all combined, it made for a less than satisfying experience. The bagels were clearly made in-house, with a very good texture. But they were strangely yeasty tasting, like they were under baked. The plain cream cheese I had on the bagels was the saltiest I have ever had anywhere. I did observe the slow service noted by others. However, my observation was that the slow service issues I observed were caused by design deficiencies in the space itself, not by any lack of diligence by the staff. The one specific service issue I had was related to my drink. I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and a hot chocolate to go. I received my bagels very quickly and was told that my hot chocolate would be right out, so I dug in to my bagels. I finished both bagels before I noticed I hadn’t received my hot chocolate. I walked up to the counter and asked for it again. A very apologetic staff member had it squared away within 3 minutes. To her credit she offered me another bagel or something else for my trouble. I declined, but it was a nice gesture. 2 bagels w/cream cheese + large hot chocolate = $ 6.50.

Well, I just wasted 20 minutes of my life waiting for a mediocre, dry chicken salad on a bagel. The staff was friendly but the service was slow and they were out of a lot of bagel flavors so I couldn’t get exactly what I wanted.

I didn’t have the greatest experience at the bagel bakery this morning. It was pretty busy, but I sat for 15 – 20 minutes and watched as five people got their food before me that ordered after me. Our orders were nearly identical which was frustrating. When I finally did get my food they had forgotten to make one of my sandwiches so I had to sit and wait longer. The food wasn’t anything special either, the bagels were pretty doughy and didn’t have that much flavor.

Fabulous service. Fantastic food. Super great place. I have to politely disagree with some of the more recent negative posts about poor service and food quality. We come here often as the Bagel Bakery is close to our house and a comfortable place for enjoying coffee and a bagel. The owners and staff are always smiling, happy to personalize our orders(as our eating habits make us a little high maintenance) and prompt in getting our food to us. We have ordered cupcakes, cakes and a variety of other pastries. All have been delicious and perfect for the occasion. Overall, we love the new management and will continue to frequent this place! We hope you try it out!

Bought a dozen cupcakes from here for work and everyone loved them. They were having a special so they were 2 dollars for regular sized cupcakes. The service was great, everyone was really fast, attentive and very helpful. They also have vegan cupcakes available for the vegetarian in your life. Will definitely go back.

Horrible service. We ordered cupcakes for my daughters first birthday. First problem was they lost the order and when I showed up to pickup the cupcakes, they didn’t have them made. Next problem was they offered to make the order exactly how we originally ordered it and deliver it for free, but instead they just made whatever they wanted and didn’t even consider that the cupcakes were for small children. The put little candies balls on top of the cupcakes. Yeah! Those are choking hazards. Finally, the owner is not a pleasant person to deal with. When I asked her to give us a discount or reverse the charges on my card, she said she would cancel the charges only if we threw the cupcakes out. This was in the middle of the birthday party with 20 kids waiting to get cupcakes. Like I’m going to throw out cupcakes in front of those kids.

Ahh… What happened to the great cupcakes? Not sure if they have new ownership or new baker but their once moist, flavorful, cupcakes have been replaced with dry, disappointing ones. Although they still look pretty in the case. Bought 6 for the family, all different flavored and you know they are bad when none were finished… and all I heard was.,“how does yours taste? you can have the rest of mine.” Bummer

I can’t comment on the bagels or sandwiches but we have had their cupcakes several times and they are usually very good. Unfortunately, I cannot get past the terrible customer service at The Bagel Bakery. I called on Wednesday to place an order for one of their giant birthday cupcakes and after a lengthy and tedious Q & A session, I was told it would be ready at 12 on Saturday. When the day came, I showed up at 12:45 and was forced to wait 15 minutes for them to finish it. The girl that rang me up was clearly not interested in my business… I didn’t even get a «thanks». When the cake was cut later that night, they didn’t even get the filling right! Very disappointing. I’m all for supporting local businesses(even when the quality isn’t as good) but I’m giving up on the Bagel Bakery.

It’s been a while since my last visit here. This morning, after a bike ride, 11:30 am on a Saturday, we found the Bagel Bakery with about 6 bagels left. The one I had was hard as a rock, dry & not made any better with the little bit of schmear they gave me. I can imagine it’s tough to be able to keep up with producing like the chains can. Maybe by this time of day, that’s it for them and they don’t want to make any fresh? Not so sure that’s the best business choice, though. So if you want to give them a try, I would say get there early. Unfortunately, that bagel I had was so bad, it will be a while until I give them another try. Bummer, for I always want to support local entrepreneurs…

I gave the shop another try this weekend, stopping in to pick up four cupcakes on the spur of the moment with my kids. They weren’t especially busy at 12:30 on Saturday, yet I stood for almost five minutes while the three girls working at the counter ignored me. Finally, an older worker stopped by to see what she could help with. I asked for four cupcakes — and she tried to send me off with THREE in the box. Very disorganized shop — half the cupcakes are along a side wall, the other half at the front of the store. Makes it very difficult to order. I will say that it looks like the Thornton shop has been cleaned up a bit. It’s still a little cluttered, but the store itself was very clean. Good job there! Cupcake quality(once we finally got our order!) was very good; cupcakes tasted fresh, frosting was silky smooth and not overly sugary. I really wish the customer service were better here. Yes, there was a birthday party there, but I watched three workers make eye contact with me and then ignore me while we waited to order. Is it really that hard to greet customers?

Today was my first stop into Bagel Bakery. I’ve been dieting and craving a cupcake or pastry. Of course, after living in Thornton for over a year, I haven’t really found my go-to place yet. I’m a bit spoiled from my time in NYC… The staff was courteous and nice, even though they were cleaning up. They close at 6pm. I ordered a ½dozen cupcakes. I loved the cute little box and their new logo. The cupcakes are adorable and gift-worthy. The only one I’ve tasted so far is the German Chocolate. It was on the verge of being a little dry, but it wasn’t crumbly at all and had a nice taste that complimented the filling. My first impression is that they are trying to be like Starbucks and Crumbs on a smaller scale. If the other 5 cupcakes are tasty — I’ll probably go back! As a note, this location is in a small strip mall before you get to 128th Ave off of Colorado Blvd. The strip mall doesn’t face the road, so be on the look out!
