Witnessed the owner yelling and throwing out a ten year old boy.
Food average, prices high — not worth it, there are plenty of other places around to get/​eat better fare.

Very good food and pizza. I’ve had some timing/​accuracy issues with delivery but I“m still a fan if I want pizza/​Italian dishes that’s a little higher quality for more money than the average shop.

We ordered a large pizza to go but the whole topping and cheese had slid off due to a greasy mess underneath. We were mopping up grease with napkins for what seems like minutes, it just wouldn’t get dry. We won’t be returning.

I’ve only received delivery from this restaurant — never eaten in. Delivery is always prompt. Food is fantastic! Soups are amazing! (Lentil, Split Pea and Pasta Fagiole are so thick and hearty they’re more stew-​like.) Garlic knots are ridiculous– you MUST try the garlic knots. They are super doughy and brushed with (not drenched in) olive oil and dusted (not overwhelmed) with garlic. They are billowy and chewy and crunchy and such a pleasure to eat. Their salads are generous and grilled chicken fresh. The chicken martini is crunchy, cheesy and lemony and really addictive. The roasted potatoes are crispy and a nice accompaniment as a side to their entrees. Lastly, their pasta arabbiata is great — traditionally nice and spicy with a welcome addition of hot peppers for an extra tangy kick. I’ve ordered even more items than mentioned in this review — never been disappointed.

Went a few times and picked up different slices. The staff has always been extra nice helpful and even funny. The only negative is their regular slice is just okay but their specialty slices are amazing. The chicken marsala, pork slider and mac and cheese are all my guilty pleasures I am not ashamed to admit because they are so yummy! I thought Mac and cheese with bacon pizza just seemed wrong but I was wrong it is delusions may be heart attack on a plate so only enjoy once in a while.

Tucked away behind a local dry cleaners and Walgreen’s lie some yummy slices and delicious plates of Italian comfort food. Regular and gourmet slices are very good, but I absolutely loved their entrees. My family and I enjoyed their tilapia special, chicken parm, chicken scarpiello (with sausage, potatoes & cherry peppers — the way it should be served!), and the chicken martini (scrumptious! I want to literally dive into this dish!). Fantastic and enough for lunch for the next day. The service was warm and inviting. The waitstaff is super nice and they love kids. (A huge plus and not so easy to find these days!) Can’t wait to bring my hungry brood back for more. :)

Modern is a great addition to the area. This location has had a few different pizzerias in the last 5 years and this is by far the best. The pizza options are always excellent, the salads and wraps are fresh and the food is prepared quickly during lunch. Tony and the rest of guys who work there are always friendly. The décor looks clean and sharp and they have cold beer on tap. I highly recommend stopping in. It is a pleasant surprise.

The eggplant parm was amazing! The chicken rustica was great as well! The waitress even remembered our order from previous visits, making it feel like home. The downside: the service was a little slow.

Went to eat there last week and thought the pizza was good, a nice change from Dino’s etc. so took I menu and ordered the family style Chicken Parmesan, um not enough to feed my family of 4 that consist of a 8 and 11 year old. They advertise this this size feeding 4⁄5 people, sorry no way. They gave us 5 pounded half cut chicken cutlets. So basically 2.5 cutlets for $ 25 dollars. No bread, and no pasta offered. We also ordered the calamari salad and I thought it was ok. I’m sorry but it I have to cook for my kids after ordering, I won’t be calling again. Little advice for you guys, double they amount on servings on the family style dishes. We are people eating dinner, we want dinner not appetizers. So pissed

We’ve been here twice. I got the chicken rustica and the martini chicken. My boyfriend got the double cut pork chop. All of our entrees were delicious. The wait staff are knowledge and very friendly. I highly recommend Modern Slice. I look forward to going back soon.

Went to Modern Slice with a coupon offer they advertised. I had heard they had great food. We thought the food was amazing. We both had the Chicken Francese, with a side of pasta. huge portions, chicken very tender and pasta sauce perfect. They are located behind Walgreens. reasonable prices too. Will be back with my family soon. Highly recommend!

The place to go to when you’re in Thornwood. The chefs are really talented and the setup is new and modernized. Not only a pizza spot for a great tasting slice but a great little restaurant too with many selections for a sit-​down lunch or dinner with the family. We love Modern Slice!
