(The other Unilocal page for«BESTWESTERN West Deptford Inn» is the same hotel by the way. It just has 2 different entrances and somehow ended up with 2 different Unilocal pages.) My partner and I stayed here for 1 week as we were moving and our apartment wouldn’t be ready for a month– so basically we were homeless for a month. We lived in the area and as constant Best Western goers and Best Western members, we decided to stay here. We considered staying for the month, but ended up AirBnB-ing a place that was nicer and cheaper for the remaining 3 weeks instead. Pros of this hotel: For us, it was in a convenient location in terms of the fact that we were very familiar with the area as we had previously been living not too far down Route 295 from here. ANDITWASPETFRIENDLY! This was important as we had our 43 lb dog with us. Also it was close to family, with whom we had been spending a lot of time with this summer. It was also $ 99/night – pretty cheap – plus we got a cheaper weekly rate by staying the week.(There was also a cheaper monthly rate, but we decided to not stay the month.) It has the basics: beds, lamps, a desk, some unheard of brand of undersized coffee maker in the room, a decent TV. The bathrooms in the rooms were renovated not too long ago, which was very nice considering past reviews of this place complained about the bathrooms I assume prior to the renovations. The renovations weren’t pristine, but they were as modern as a cheap hotel could get. The sink was nice with the new marble vanity around it and the floor in the bathroom was very clean. The tub was okay– it wasn’t dirty, but it was still that old style tub that’s plastic and goes up the walls to surround the showering area. I couldn’t tell if it was the same old tub and was just cleaned well or if it was a new one that fit over the previous tub that was there. Regardless, the bathroom was the best part about staying in the room and that’s important to us as we’re bathroom snobs and can’t stand a gross bathroom. Anything else is pretty tolerable other than a dirty bathroom. We also went in the pool outside once and we were the only ones in it at the time, but it was clean and gave us some much needed relaxation time! Although people were spying on us from their windows surrounding the pool… There’s also a Keurig coffee machine in the lobby that shockingly spits out some pretty decent joe on the go. Also the housekeeping staff was very friendly! Cons of this hotel: Firstly, the hallways of the hotel are much more damning to its reputation than the actual rooms. I think that’s what the one reviewer meant by saying«The ‘80s called and they want their hotel back!» The hallway walls were an old outdated pink and the rugs were some swirly dark green design. Definitely in need of an upgrade. The room was just okay. It seemed clean but for whatever reason it didn’t feel clean(except the bathroom, see Pros above.) The rooms also need an update, but not nearly as badly as the hallways. The beds were comfy enough, honestly as you’d expect. The blanket on the bed was kind of thin for a blanket– it felt like a slightly thicker version of those fake super thin blankets you get on airplanes. The AC unit(which is also the heating unit) gave off a funny smell when running but it kept the room cool regardless. The continental breakfast was a big WOMP. There were only ever: small old donuts, 4 types of small pre-packaged cereal bowls, disappointing ‘scrambled eggs’, sausage patties, SOMETIMES bacon(which is apparently a big deal and called ‘Bacon Day’ when the staff decide to make it), coffee, a juice machine, either an apple or an orange for fruit, and 2 waffle makers. The quality of all of these breakfast items was below average. And you’d better get there before the second half of the entire breakfast time rolls in because the staff isn’t refilling anything and you’ll be left with slim pickings. The security at the hotel wasn’t great as all doors except the door that led into your room were unlocked and absolutely anyone could walk in. All in all, the place needs a facelift, but the bathrooms have been recently renovated thankfully. If you have absolutely nowhere else to go, this is fine for settling in for 1 or 2 nights. But anymore than that, you might want to drive a little further for something better.

In 1985 I imagine this hotel was quite nice currently in its state it’s a little outdated. the TVs are nice, the water pressure is horrible. cleaning staff does a fair job but neglected the two clean the sink for the last week. towels are wonderful, the bed is very firm, pillows are from some discount wholesaler that was selling them on clearance the. front desk staff is very monotone and not very friendly. At the 135 $ a nite one week is all I could handle. Much better places around for a much better price. The parking was great and the grounds are kept vary clean. You can hear everyone in the hallway so that means they can hear you to. If your a light sleeper bring earplugs. I keep my room clean and the cleaning staff never moved anything of mine in the room and my bed was always made nicely. Never tried sticking around for the breakfast. I’m just not that brave. Now the internet is some of the fastest I have ever been around. Well done best western! On closing I did have a place to lay my head but would not come back.

Stayed here 3 weeks while working at a local establishment. For the money, this place is a great value. Super clean smoke free room every day. Very nice free breakfast every day. Two newspapers everyday. Very knowledgable staff 24⁄7. Frankly nothing to complain about… sure the place is a bit dated, but that isn’t what makes my wheels turn. Safe, clean, accomodating is what I wanted and received. All for a very good price.

Well, I have finally discovered a new lodging low. I mean, the«hostel» I stayed in while on a drive through Guatemala as a teen DID give me dysentery and the 80 year old hotel in Miami Beach DID have walls thinner than a student film set, but somehow I feel more bothered by my stay here for a few nights while on a video gig in the area. The shower was luke warm a best, my room card needed to be re-set 2 nights in a row, the wifi refused to recognize my laptop till I lied about my room number, the bed was so stiff I checked for a dead hooker under the mattress and they can’t be bothered to have a vending machine with detergent on the same floor with the guest laundry. First World Problems, I know, but I currently LIVE in the First World and have run out of patience after 48yrs and 12 hr shoot days. Knights Inn & Red Roof seem to be the only consistently reliable cheap motels left these days. Decent scrambled eggs in the continental breakfast are not enough of a reason to stay here. Seriously.

The 80’s Called and want their Hotel back! If you asked me to describe this place in one word, it would be ‘dated’…or ‘retro’ depending on your view I guess. The pink pastel bathroom was definately 80’s. The room décor was OK, but the hotel overall just seemed worn and has seen better days. I can’t really say that the room was extremely clean. I found several small hairs around various areas in the bathroom. There were a few positives though: I was here for 4 nights and housekeeping at least attempted to «clean» the room. I had fresh towels, an empty garbage, a quickly vacuumed carpet, and a made bed every day. I am sure they weren’t exactly spending an hour in each room. Breakfast was decent and was more than just your basic carb-loaded free continental breakfast. They had REAL scrambled eggs(Not that fake stuff at most hotels) and hash browns every morning along with your basics. Some yogurt would have been nice, but oh well. Lots of TV channels(and you still can’t find anything to watch) and high speed internet that actually was HIGHSPEED! Staff was friendly and accomodating. An OK place to stay for a night or two probably if the ‘retro’ décor doesn’t bother you.
