Ate there for the first time with my brother who goes often. Very very good! The best Indian food I have ever had! We started with the assorted appetizers for 2 which were plenty for the four of us. We then had lamb with mushrooms, chicken Marsala, lamb naan and garlic naan. Served with white rice. The flavors in each entrée were distinct and delicious. We got medium spice which was just enough to make it interesting! The service rivaled a white glove restaurant. Very small seating under 50 people yet the noise level was great. You could hear across the table. With 3 men and myself we still had enough left overs for one more serving. We will be coming back here soon!

So delicious and very friendly. A colleague and I shared the vegetarian lunch combo for two. We chose vegetable curry, Chana masala, and malai kofta, and they were all delicious! Vegetable soup that came with the combo was very tasty. I also got a mixed pickle, which added lots of flair to everything. Naan was soft and warm and papadum didn’t have those nasty anise seeds in it – yay!

Ordered some takeout in restaurant, fast service, helpful wait staff… Got meat lovers lunch special x2. Choose lamb curry x2, aloo gobi, eggplant veg dish, chicken tikki x2. Also included rice and naan with complimentary indian chips and dips… all for $ 52(enough to feed 4 to 5 adults) Awesome value. Curry lamb is well seasoned and tender…5 stars. Eggplant dish(very mushy) and aloo gobi(potato and cauliflower curry) is filling…3 stars. Chicken tikki is slightly on dry side, but yogart dip is wonderful…3 stars. Rice is bland, but the naan is chewy fluffy goodness…4 stars. (Written by husband)

The service was excellent. Our server was very generous and very attentive to our needs. The food was ok. I tried the chicken tikka penang but the curry wasn’t as strong and flavorful as I’d hope. I was expecting the curry to be spicy so I ordered mine mild and it came out bland. My significant other was more gutsy and ordered her chicken tikka medium and it was also mild. There was no «kick» to the curry. Of course, I may be biased because I’m comparing this to the many other Indian restaurants I’ve frequented. I think for locals this place is top notch because I don’t think they like spicy food. For those that seek authenticity I would seek other alternatives…

The Chicken Korma is really good but I didn’t feel the same way about the Appetizer plate– Samosas were okay, the Chicken Tikka was a little dry and the Mango Kulfi dessert was small and icy. The restaurant itself is nice yet small inside and the staff working here are pleasant. This is more of 3.5 stars for me, I“ll need to come back and see if I can find more tasty dishes off their menu.

I go to this place very frequently. I usually place an order for pickup, but the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and charming. The quality of the food is outstanding! And you get a LOT of food for the price you pay. I always have leftovers! Also, they follow specific requests you make extremely well. Go here! You won’t regret it!!!

Came here with my husband for the first time tonight and loved it! We were warmly welcomed and greeted by the manager I think? He was fantastic and ended up being our waiter. Fun, energetic and enthusiastic about the food. We were unsure what to get so he took our menu’s and told us not to worry-he would take care of us. Everything he brought to the table was amazing. The chicken makhani was awesome and the fish was incredible! We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful experience on Christmas Day. What fantastic service and very good Indian food. My favorite was the eggplant, the kids loved the chicken tikka masala and the rice pudding delicious. Definitely worth a stop.

After coming here for a long time I have realized they are very inconsistent with the food. It’s a hit or miss with them. I usually don’t dine in so when I come home and my food is messed up I either drive back or just throw it away and waste my money, which sucks. I have had sag paneer from them that was the some of the best and worst I have ever had. The last time I ever went to them they messed up my sag paneer so I drove back only to have it even worse the second time. Never going back.

Instagram: @plated_la This place is amazing! The chicken tikka masala was divine. The chicken wasn’t dry and the sauce had the perfect creaminess. The bhindi(okra) was also wonderful! It completed the other saucier dishes we ordered. Chicken bhuna was new for me and I have to say I enjoyed it very much. It had a good spice to it. Malai kofta was good as well. Not the best I’ve had, but it was still enjoyable. The sauce, however, was still very good over rice, with naan, ect. THEDESSERTS! YAAAAS! Their gulab jamun and rice pudding were wonderful! Highly highly recommend Instagram: @plated_la

Dropped by here for some late night takeout and am very happy with the food! We were happy that it closed late on weekdays as well. There are maybe 2 tables outside for a faux patio if you want to eat with your dog. The matar paneer was flavorful and the chicken in the chicken curry was very moist. The one hiccup was that we had asked for spicy but both came out mild. The dinner combo was a great deal — you get the entrée, rice, your choice of naan, soup and a dessert for 5 $ more. Enough for two. The side salad was only 3 $ but the portion was huge as well. Orders also come with chutneys(but no yogurt) and crispy papadum lentil crackers. The services was prompt and very friendly. The restaurant itself, when we went for pickup, was pretty small bit seems to have a solid fanbase of local regulars. Would definitely recommend.

One of my most treasured dining experiences to date, this place is not to be missed. If you want excellent food and a great ambiance, do yourself a favor and try Akash right now. Having no plans to speak of this evening, I decided to take myself on a date and I stumbled upon Akash. When I walked in near closing time, the place was empty, save for an Indian family paying their bill. It was a bit awkward for me because I don’t like dining alone, especially in a restaurant so empty, so my plan was to take my food and eat it standing over the counter at home. I was about to place my order when the man behind the counter asked me if I had anyone waiting for me at home for me, to which I replied«no,» and somehow he talked me into staying to eat. What followed was the most delicious food and satisfying conversation that I have had in quite sometime: I was greeted by lentil crackers and a colorful variety of Indian chutneys, each one better than the next! I ordered and consumed an a la carte Saab poneer(spinach and cheese dish), which was cooked and flavored to perfection, the chicken tikka appetizer, which was moist and flavorful and served with a portion of complimentary lettuce, and the eggplant Bartha, which was filled with peas and a mixture of seasonings that had my tastebuds feeling wooed. Salim, my server, suggested I make the bartha into a meal so that I could have the naan bread, rice, and soup included and I am thrilled to have followed his suggestion. Each dish had an individual personality that I enjoyed exploring, and I left with enough food to feed myself and my two roommates lunch tomorrow. The food stood out amongst other Indian restaurants in the area, but the conversation with my bengali waiter, Salim, is perhaps what I will remember most. As I sat alone at a small table, Salim told me stories of his family life, his love of food and culture, and tales from the restaurant scene in New York. He explained to me the differences between Bengali food and Indian food and we joked about starting a historical cooking television program as we spoke about Singapore and Nepal and famous world explorers. I forced myself to go out tonight when I really wanted to continue to immerse myself in a pajama clad Netflix marathon, and I am so thankful that I did. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and asks you to swing at it, knowing that there is just as much potential for you to hit it out of the park as there is to swing and miss.

Decent late-Sunday night options are few in this area, and good Indian food is a big plus. Some complimentary crispy fried chip thing came out first with assorted sauces. Chip too salty, but the sauces helped spread it around. Lamb Tikka Masala next with naan stuffed with ground lamb(Keema Naan). Lamb x Lamb overload. Yum. Masala just the consistency I like it; super creamy, and thick, just a tad removed from gooey. «Medium spicy» here is not spicy at all, just the barest glimmer of heat. Next time I’ll have to go one notch up on the spice meter. Naan and rice were both solid side items to soak up all that delicious masala. I’ll be back for sure.

Happy to have found a good Indian restaurant. The place is small but surprisingly elegant. I love the décor, ceiling and the elegant tableware. Our server Salim was great. Very personable, funny and helpful. Everything we ordered was good. I loved it all. They make the food according to your heat preference. Food is fresh and made to order. The restaurant is clean. Great service and great food I am looking forward to going back! We went during our lunch hour and service was prompt. Here are the menu items ordered. Chicken curry Mixed tandoori Chana masala Paneer Masala Malai Kofta Sag Mushroom

Akash is a little place in a strip mall with 10 tables, traditionally and simply decorated with art along one side, and a mirror on the other. Setting the nirvana spirit is also traditional music, mostly instrumental, very nice. Got a combo for $ 23.99, yikes expensive as all get out. But they don’t offer a lunch buffet, and I refuse to get only 1 item. 1. The vegetable soup didn’t look like much, but it was delicious — and the fresh herbs did it justice.(4.5 stars) 2. Chicken Tikka — served sizzling on a platter, white meat and boneless. Very good.(4.5 stars) 3. Curry Chicken — if at first you don’t succeed, you try again. They brought something not curry, apologized, and made again. Second attempt was still not good, not much curry, and not tender pieces of chicken.(1.5 stars) 4. Eggplant Bharta — nice, creamy, eggplanty delish, a little sweet lacked ginger or anything pungent.(3.5 stars) 5. Rice — a ever so little saffron atop. Small, maybe, broken basmati, and dry.(2.0 stars) 6. Naan — eh, not crispy, not overly thin.(3.0 stars) 7. Iced Chai Tea — refreshing, freshly brewed.(4.5 stars) The service was very nice, kind, and friendly. But, it wasn’t good enough to return and certainly not for the price.
