We LOVE C & A. Our kiddos love it, we love it, and its a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Its not very often you can say that about a lot of places… They have some of the best Fish and Chips around and that is usually what the kiddos get. They also have the best Bloody Mary anywhere here in the Conejo Valley by far… I also love the Sunday morning servers… The expansion is nice now that it is all done!

I seriously do adore this place when I’m feeling extra gluttonous and fatty food. They have a very cute and authentic way of creating a pub atmosphere that makes me quite nostalgic of my times spent in England. A lovely place to watch any sports game or just catch up with friends. Also, this place is incredibly kid friendly during the day! Servers are very sweet and helpful. BEST attribute I’d say too is that they have vegan and gluten-free options. Super accommodating for us non-wheat eating and non-meat eating folk. Happy hour is pretty sweet too! NOTE: I said they have vegan options, not healthy options. So do not expect some plant based organic craziness… It’s still a f&$king pub.

I was born and raised in England, so I know good British food when I taste it, and this place had some of the most delicious Yorkshire Puddings I’ve had in a long time! We got 3 of them as an appetizer, along with a Scotch Egg, and they were a great way to start the meal. For entrees, my husband got the Full English Breakfast, I ordered the Fish & Chips and my brother-in-law got the Shepherds Pie, all of which were delicious. The ambiance is great — felt very much like a pub back home in England. And our server was lovely. We’ll definitely be back to try the Sticky Toffee Pudding!

Come’on people… it’s a freak’n PUB! Whud’ya expect? C&A deserves at least three stars because they make great snakebites and I love their chicken and vegetable pies. There are certain characteristics that make up a great pub… C&A has several that matter most to me. What they have: Decent choice of ales They know what a snakebite is(and make a good one) Good choice of Brit Faire Friendly service Parking can be an issue… What they’re missing: A proper Ploughman’s A fireplace… no Pub’s in the U.S. have fireplaces… so Graffiti A pool table More than one cider

This review is for the Monday night trivia run by Rick. A group of my gals and I go as often as possible. Always fantastic fun. The waiting staff are always happy to give us individual checks and are very good waiting on a big crowd. We like the tuna melt and the fish n chips… and tea with a tea cosy!

This place came up in my Unilocal quest for a strong drink. What a joke. My bourbon 7up looks and tastes like 7 up. That’s it… I’m opening my own bar.

It’s the only bar in town that makes me feel at home. I’ve been coming here for twenty years. I love all of the staff, but Krista is the best. She holds it down like no other. Props to her and thanks to her for always making me feel welcome and taken care of. When she’s there, my day after work is always better! Great food, good beer, good people and great ambience! My home away from home. Cheers!

The Crown and Anchor is a great place to grab a beer and watch a game. When the weather permits it, it very nice to sit outside under the tree. My favorite dish at The Crown and Anchor, is the patty melt. This is the best patty melt I’ve ever had! I drive all the way from Oxnard to get it. Their curry is also very good, as is their chili. I’ve never had a bad meal at The Crown and Anchor.

This was my first time here, I thought my meal was a little over cooked! I like trying different foods, so I will definitely come again. I think next time I will order the bangers and mash, that’s hard to mess up… I’m willing to give it a second try

What a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the company of good friends, Anna A., Rene A, Jim K., Elizabeth K., Sandy S, and non Unilocal member Evan, we were seated out on patio, which is shaded by a large winding tree, the patio tables are spaced apart to give you an air of privacy, though I’m sure the patrons at the other tables could hear what a good time we were having. The Food at Crown & Anchor is the kind of fare that’s perfect to soak of the alcohol from the night before festivities… what do I mean by that? well it’s greasy, it’s going to soak those hangover blues right on up. I ordered the Patty Melt with grilled onions and american cheese on sourdough, and a side of homemade chips at Rene’s recommendation, you get a choice how you want your meat cooked, Rare, medium rare, medium, well done and I’m sure by now you get the gist. It’s a big sandwich, I ended up taking the rest home, and it tastes even better the day after, though the chips didn’t survive the heat up in my oven. My drink of choice was Coke and Captain Morgan, got a nice little zip in my step, but I didn’t overdue it as I knew I would be having wine later that evening. Definitely a great place to go with a group of good people, best place to chill out and enjoy the laughter of friends, and enjoy the laid back ambiance. Many thanks to our waitress, hope she enjoyed the slice of cheesecake we gave her… yes, we left her a real tip too. ;)

We use to go there for years. So disappointed in this British pub — it has gone down hill since we were there last. The bathrooms were just plain disgusting. The carpet in the restaurant is equally disgusting & dirty. The booth we sat in has food wedged down the seats. Really hope the owners can take the initiative to give it a thorough cleaning — not just a mopping but a real good scrubbing. We can put up with the out dated décor(1970’s red leather booths) but please treat your patrons with respect & give the place a thorough scrub down. It’s a terrific place to get together with X Pats but the state of the place in this day & age is truly diabolical — If Gordon Ramsey went there he’d rip the place apart.

Wow… I’ve been here before about a year ago before I was actively Unilocaling. I was blown away by the food and friendly staff! However, this time Alycia was our waitress who was hands down, horrible! I am appalled and so is my family and friends who came with us. We came here to celebrate my sister’s birthday and her boyfriends as well. My parents had made reservations in advance so we were sat immediately. Our party was a total of seven. The place was empty so I do not know why they sat us at a table where the sun was setting right into half our parties eyes… It was rude but we sat there and didn’t say anything. Our waitress came very quickly and started taking our drink order. She seemed to get annoyed that we were asking her about different types of beer that they had on tap. From here on out, it just got worse and worse. Beers came pretty quickly and all of them were nice and cold. The bartender knows how to pour a perfect glass of beer. Not everyone in our party was ready to order yet and Alycia seemed to get extremely annoyed by that. She didn’t come back for another ten minutes… That was an extremely long time since we only needed a minute or two more. Once we finally did order my dad had asked for a side of tater sauce to try before deciding if he was going to go with the fish and chips. She yet again got offended by this even though my dad said you can get in later, no rush. Well that seemed to annoy her more so she stormed off to get it. Then when she came back we finished ordering. The food took an offley long time to get to our table. Like I’ve said I have been here before and this was off. Our food didn’t take more than ten minutes last time but now we were knocking on twenty. Then when she finally did bring us our food it wasn’t that hot. I felt like it had been sitting for a while. I got the Pastie which was pretty excellent! The food is the reason for the two stars otherwise I would have given one. When she came to check on us I asked her for a side of curry sauce and she sighed so loud everyone looked at me as if I had cussed at her… My family by that point was pretty ticked off. Now… that sauce took another five minutes to get! I was very confused and angry when she brought it. We had been very nice to this woman and she was treating us as if we had screamed at her. Then it seemed like she was trying to kick us out even though two of us hadn’t finished our beers and one of us was still eating! Seriously, that was the last straw! My dad told her we wanted a little bit of time but what we got was twenty minutes and my dad walking up to her to ask for the check then him again having to walk up to her with his payment. My family has all worked in the food industry so I know what it is like to be a server and same with my mom, dad, and brother. That was just unacceptable! Makes me not want to go back there again even though I really like their food. Especially their fish n chips. Really disappointed… Beers: Amazing Food: Excellent Service: Worst I’ve had in a long time when sitting at a restaurant Ambiance: Its a nice looking pub

The food here is pretty horrible. i ordered Scottish fried eggs that tasted like they were microwaved. I ordered a couple of other things but all of it was AWFUL! the beer on tap is decent but not much of a selection. i wouldn’t come here again.

I wish there weren’t so many douchebags with man buns, beards and leather jackets at this place. Don’t sit on the patio because chances are you’ll get covered in vapor fog. The clientele needs to work on their originality. It’s anything but refreshing having to walk into this place and figure out who has a personality. The staff is ok though. And so is the food.

I take back what I said about the food. No, I won’t order the reuben again but they have a lot of other yummy stuff. Clam chowder, yum! Wedge salad, yum yum! Bangers? Delish, especially with brown sauce or in their Toad in a Hole Fish & chips? Fish, not your average cod… very good. Chips, alright but for me they aren’t worth the extra calories/fat Plus Nicola is a great waitress when we go for lunch & is very accommodating when say, 8 of us all want a separate check or one of us askes for something prepared differently than on the menu.

I met a friend for lunch this past week and his restaurant of choice was Crown and Anchor. I’d never been there but generally like English pubs so I agreed. Parking was easy and ample. The restaurant had a medium sized outdoor patio but due to the cold weather we ate inside. There seemed to be plenty of seating and we camped out by a large flat screen TV. The waitress could not have been nicer. She was incredible. I ordered the Tuna Melt and it was delicious. The lunch menu was reasonably priced and everything was fresh. I’ll definitely be going back. Crown and Anchor strikes me as a fantastic neighborhood pub that’s also good for grabbing a bite to eat. The great service was also well appreciated. 4 stars!

I’d never heard of this place before being invited to watch a soccer game. Crown and Anchor is an English Pub that has everything an English soccer fan could want. They have TVs everywhere and provide a bar area, restaurant seating, and outdoor patio. The food is pretty legit offering both English bar food and regular stuff. I had a Cobb salad that was really big and on point. I also had a side of Bangers that didn’t disappoint either. This is definitely a place to check out if you like English Pubs and you’re in the area.
