Rolling Oaks Radiology – Thousand Oaks

My issue here was not about the actual MRI or the physician who reads/​reports it…
My appointment was at 10PM (yes. PM!)
I arrived to to vacant dark parking lot, no security whatsoever.
The woman at the desk clearly needs to work a day job. She was as cold & short as they come. She left my ID and credit card on the counter for me to retrieve instead of waiting for me to finish paperwork & return to counter and hand it to me. I asked her about part of the questionnaire that had a yes or no box only but didn’t apply to me… Her reply was «check whatever you want». I looked up when I heard her say something but couldn’t make out what she said… Only to see her walking away, papers in hand with her back to me. I asked if she was talking to me? She said «I called you» and continued walking away. RUDE!!!
Mind you… I was having an MRI because of pain & swelling of my knee and COULDN’T follow her quickly.
My orthopedist gave me the name of 2 places I could go for the imaging… If there’s ever a «next time». IT WONT BE HERE.

I like Rolling Oaks, been there a few times. MRI people are nice, get the job done. It’s a big donut looking machine, a bit tight, but nothing to freak out about.

Have been in and out of this facility for the past 6 months with only good experience. Thank you to the fine staff in every department. Thank you to the fine physicians who read the MRIs, CTs and Ultra sounds and report promptly and thoroughly. I am so grateful to you all for your expert care. Thank you Amy for cultivating a great facility.

Excellent staff that answered all my questions. They were very patient and put my mind at ease.

I needed an ultra sound and my normal Doctor couldn’t get me in for a month. I was recommended to Rolling Oaks Radiology and they fit me in the same day I called. They were very accommodating and helpful. The ultrasound technician was sweet and reassuring. Thank you again to the staff!

The front desk ladies were rude/​disinterested. I had questions. One literally answered the phone in the middle of my question. They didn’t seem to care that I had questions/​concerns. I showed up for my CT scan and was barely greeted with a hello. I wasn’t told what to expect. I didn’t know they were going to be putting in an IV. The lady who did everything didn’t introduce herself or explain what she was doing and why. Such a sad first time experience. Hopefully I will not have to go back. If I do, hopefully my doctor uses other radiology places.

Was not going to leave a review after the awful way I was treated at Rolling Oaks Radiology. But after seeing how many other bad reviews there are of this place, I felt obligated.
If you have an option, I recommend you not use this facility. The MRI tech that I had was impatient and only cared about her own deadlines and feelings. I was in severe pain while I was having my MRI’s done and this lady could have given a crap. I needed to take a couple breaks due to the pain and she became indignant and rude.

This is my second visit within a week for a MRI and CT Scan. The Front Desk Staff are not welcoming, professional or courteous. The ladies look like they hate their jobs and it comes across to the patients. I’m sorry, a lot of the patients are receiving these procedures deserve at least a warm and inviting individuals, NOT cold and aloof Front Desk Personnel.

I have been a patient here for years. I have been very ill and have had to reschedule my bladder test four times, but fault of mine. This clinic rudely refused my request. They have a rule not to reschedule. This is malpractice.

Rude, mean, indifferent staff.
Heartless bunch of bastards.
Disorganized and stupid.
5 star reviews are from office staff and their families.

I came in twice once for myself and once for my daughter who is an infant. Both visits were was as smooth as can be. I’ll rate my first visit with just myself first.
Visit 1: Having to have a procedure like this can be worrying. The front staff was pleasant. The front room is welcoming and nicer than most offices. The technician was professional and on it. I finished in a timely manner. The inside waiting rooms for changing in and out of clothes was clean and looked appealing. They actually did a good job of decorating the inside, which is nice when you are going through the worry and anxiety of potentially life changing procedure.

Decent, clean waiting room. Got in, radiology tech asked what happened to my child’s arm, said he fell, gave me a quizzed look. Then had my son tell him the story.
Read our stuff, told us nothing was broken, then left.

They say first impressions are lasting impressions. Employees forget that when a patient calls it is important to make them feel comfortable and willing to help. I understand customer service is difficult, BUT when a patient is treated with short curt answers and unwillingness to go outside the box for simple services (with insurance I might add) it makes you want to find another office. FYI in this economy as tough as it is, when your patient numbers are low their are layoffs. Today’s employees do not comprehend that. I will be looking at other options.

This place was great. I came here for an ultrasound and the ladies here are very sweet, patient, and professional. There is free valet parking and there is an awesome espresso machine in the office.

Never been to such a disorganized, unprofessional establishment. My first experience here is calling in and having them tell me to walk in anytime and I went to one location and they said they only had 1 tech and was out for an hour and sent me to the other (asked them to call and make sure they are available). Showed up to the other one and still had to wait an hour! Now, 2^nd time here for my mom and called to make sure someone was available or if there was a lunchtime and the person on the phone said to come anytime «they are always available». Not true! Had my poor 77 year old mom who’s sick wait. They had only 1 technician and was out to lunch!!! The very thing I didn’t want. Absolutely misleading and poor. Will never come back. If your time/​gas mean anything, don’t come here!!!

Upon arriving, my girlfriend was turned away from her 1:00pm mammogram appointment. We were told she wasn’t old enough to have one, which is strange considering they had all of her paperwork on file.
We came back four hours later and she underwent an ultrasound instead (the medical staff were all very gentle, polite, and professional). However, when we tried to schedule the biopsy, as instructed by the doctor, the receptionist told us that the woman who schedules biopsies was «out of the office for three days» and that they would call when she returned. Not very professional at all, especially after receiving news from the doctor about the presence of a suspicious growth.

I’m not sure how many hundreds, or more likely thousands, of dollars my insurance company has paid this business for treating my son’s knee injury, but to turn a kid away and refuse follow-​up care because of an outstanding $ 92 invoice should just be illegal. It’s certainly unethical.

I needed an MRI and having never had one prior, I didn’t know what to expect. I arrived at my appointment 30 minutes early as they requested. I was taken early and greeted by Chad. He was great. He had a gentle nature and answered questions and explained the entire procedure. Once I was in the MRI room, Matt came in to administer my IV and he too was extremely caring and gentle. They were both able to answer questions and make me feel at ease. Chad was my inner voice and guided my through the breathing process without a hitch. He explained each and ever step along the way and I knew how many breath holds I would be taking at each of the intervals.
Everyone was professional and very caring. I will be coming here in the future for mammograms and any other procedures I may have to have. Thanks for making me feel comfortable and at ease!

I originally discovered this place when I needed a cardiac MRI. My physician normally sends patients to Cedars, but I didn’t want to pay their ridiculous prices. I found two other non-​hospitals in LA that do cardiac MRIs, but they couldn’t tell me how much they would bill insurance even when I gave them the CPT code. They ended up billing insurance a little more than they said, but in the end, the negotiated price was very reasonable so I didn’t mind.
Since then, I’ve been back for various other imaging studies and I’ve found the techs and radiologists to be great. The receptionists and other staff are very nice as well. When I need a copy or a physician needs a copy, they provide it to me quickly.
My one gripe about the place is about their insurance processing, but almost every medical provider I deal with has these issues. They make mistakes, but they do quickly correct them when I bring it to their attention.
They’ve pre-​authorized me for MRIs without contrast when I needed the contrast. I’ve actually gotten the original orders from my doctors and they did order it correctly, so something is happening with their insurance processing. Another time they screwed up the insurance billing, but they fixed it after one call.

The building itself is relatively new so it’s very clean inside. I can’t say it’s kid friendly. Nothing in the office to keep kids entertained. The Radiologist that helped us– never introduced himself so I don’t even know who I saw. He had no idea how to handle a toddler getting x-​rays either. Not sure why the Peidiatrician referred this place. Maybe it’s a new place they’re trying out??? I would come here for myself if needed but I wouldn’t recommend anyone with young kids to come here. There’s nothing to keep them occupied while waiting. I didn’t understand all the people going in ahead of me when I got there first either. I walked in as instructed by the Pediatrician and it didn’t appear anyone else had an appointment. I know they were waiting on a form from his Pediatrician to be faxed over, the same one I dropped off two days ago. After a few jogging sessions down the hallway and a light show with the turning on and off of the light switches we eventually made our way in to be seen just for the radiologist to be annoyed with my little one and proceeds to tell me, «There are patients waiting» (twice he said this)…um yeah I wouldn’t know what that’s like. :/​ (so rude) This facility is part of the Los Robles Hospital. As it indicates at the front of the building anyway.
I’ve had a better experience for myself at the Los Robles hospital getting X-​Rays done and waited less time than the attitude and time I spent here. Even though it is operated by Los Robles Medical– this facility isn’t any better than getting it done through the hospital.
