Jessica is AMAZING! I can’t say enough great things about how taking her class helped us prepare for the birth of our first baby. I am seeing Robyn Pool at PUSH Midwifery for my midwife and she introduced me to Jessica and taking her class has really answered a lot of questions and fears I feel like a traditional class doesn’t approach. She helped me personally through some situations I didn’t even want to think about… like a cesarian. This is not something I wanted to think about because it is not something I want to happen in my birth. Yet Jessica helped me think about the fact that I should be open to any situation to be prepared for the feelings if something unpredictable happens. Because it is birth after all… the most unpredictable and emotional thing a woman can go through. So to her, I am thankful for that because it has made me feel really prepared for anything to happen and to be ready for it. I also have to say how much I loved that she included the role of the birth partners. We came into this class a little clueless even with all the research we did. And I love that Jessica set us off with a knowing of both of our roles we can take on in this adventure of birth and having our first baby, that will only empower us more as a couple and help each other get through the birth together more knowledgable and connected. HUGE! So thank you!

When Jessica & I met through a mutual friend, I had no idea the adventure we had in front of us! My husband & I were very grateful to finally be pregnant after years of trying, a difficult loss and involved fertility treatments. As my pregnancy advanced and we were beginning to plan for delivery, I met with Jessica and instantly fell in love with her and her approach to birth. I felt immediately comfortable with her so when were ready to hire a doula it was an easy decision to work with Jessica. Jessica’s approach is very different than that of a traditional doula. She’s a modern doula. She understands the needs & concerns of new moms(and dads) today, regardless of their lifestyle. She’s current with all the latest birthing trends and has a huge network of support to answer all of our crazy questions. For us, it was important that we had a voice in our delivery experience, and didn’t get run over by the western medicine machine. And so from the very beginning she made it clear that she would honor our wishes and help us manage our expectations, no matter what. As we were just days away from our scheduled birthing class with Jessica, our daughter decided she was ready to meet the world and my water broke 7 weeks early. Scary doesn’t even begin. So although the three of us had discussed our vision of this special day, we were immediately forced into a very different experience. Jessica was there… there to explain all of the medical jargon, there to calm our very rattled nerves, and most importantly, there to hold my hand through a very intense scheduled c-section. Looking back now, we leaned on Jessica, our partner, so much. But she was always available, knew all the right things to say and had all the answers. On many occasions even my husband would say, «let’s call and ask Jessica»! She says that it was an honor for her to have shared in the birth of our daughter. But really, without her, we wouldn’t have been as prepared, informed or remotely ready to conquer the fear and embrace the love & sincere joy we experienced on that very special day we met our daughter, Katelyn. So, thank YOU, Jessica!
