Solid 4 star restaurant in my book. $ 8.99 for lunch. You basically get a bowl, and stuff it with whatever you want/however much you want. For $ 8.99, you will leave this place stuffed if you play your cards right and utilize the space in your bowl. This place has 3 meats to choose from. You can place however much of each of the meats you want: beef, pork, chicken. I chose to only go with beef, since I’m not a big pork fan and have been eating a lot of chicken lately. Other ingredients include cilantro, pineapple, carrots, broccoli, and more. The main attraction: the noodles! Stuff as much food in your bowl as you can then give it to the cook to grill. Each bowl comes with a side of white rice, as well. Once seated, a waiter will deliver you drinks and complementary bread. During lunch, this place gets great business, and for good reason. This is one heck of a good deal for practically all you can eat. The service is great too. I will be back.

We’ve been coming here for years & years & years and it’s always been fun and absolutely delicious! I’ve been to other Mongolian BBQ’s, but this is by far the best. Runs rings around the one in the food court in the Oaks Mall and is much cheaper. We think the price is a steal. Love the wontons and sesame bread. And being able to totally pick what’s going into your bowl is the best. I feel like it’s really a healthy meal with all of those yummy vegetables — my favorite way to eat broccoli. It’s always appeared clean to me — and the manager is wonderful. Always makes us feel so welcome, like he’s truly happy that we came in. A couple of years ago we found ourselves sitting next to Heather Locklear. Hey — if it’s good enough for Heather Locklear, it’s more than good enough for me! Seriously, try it. You won’t be sorry!

We can start out with the fact that this isnt a fancy spot. The décor is a little hodge podge a bit odd but I am there for food not beautiful surroundings. I have been coming here for around 5 years and it’s as good as you make it, since it’s a self serve Mongolian BBQ! We used to come here during the college years for the cheap all you can eat after 3 p.m. now that I am back in the area for work, I make it my lunch spot once a month at least. I love the food because I can make it how I like it, and it’s done cooking in just a couple minutes. Best Mongolian in the area, especially compared to the one in the mall.

I rarely desire some Mongolian BBQ so it is a shame that my craving was wasted at Wok ‘N’ South Mongolian BBQ. Located in a random shopping center, Wok ‘N’ South is a build your own style Mongolian BBQ restaurant. I walked into the establishment puzzled. It took a guy from a completely other room to see and seat us. No host, just a grilling equipment, a buffet line, and random tables are in the front. After being seated, The waiter just walks away. At this point I just want to leave. He comes back with the menu and explains its all you can eat for a certain price and all you need is the plate. We get up and go through arranging various meats(chicken, pork, and beef), seafood(crab), vegetables, and sauces on our plate. You leave your food on the counter for the cook to grill in front of you. Cooked food and a hunger for Mongolian BBQ, I take my first bite and a frown slowly creeps upon my face. The food is meh at best. All the protein is frozen so it’s not fresh at all. Each sauce is water based and doesn’t bring too much to your meal. They give you recommendations on how to sauce but even«heavy sauce» still brought a bland taste to my meal. The establishment is really dirty and ugly. The place honestly looks quite run down and should be remodeled. They give you complimentary egg-drop soup, wontons, and bread with your meal. As you probably guess, all the additions tasted bland as well. If it wasn’t for a heavy dose of soy sauce and Sriracha, I would have probably left my food on the plate and just left. The one positive was the service was nice and really friendly. Overall, A big disappointment in my opinion. Poor quality food, bland taste, horrible design of the restaurant, and dirty summarize Wok ‘N’ South Mongolian BBQ. Any positive review you read from this Unilocal page, they probably meant to review a different Mongolian spot or they were paid to review it. I’m fair in my reviews but this place sucked. If you could not tell from my Negative but factual review, I would not ever come back here.

Honestly loooooved this place and ate there all the time. Until I got sick after eating there once(and everything else was carefully ruled out). It was awhile ago and I hope they are more careful now. But there was a lot of grabbing bowls with raw meat and then your plate right after etc. I am so sad because it was a local staple of ours for quite awhile. I gave it an extra star. For old times sake.

Very disappointed in this location. I used to eat at the Camarillo location on a regular basis. I was in the area so we stopped by for an early dinner. I feel like I am eating in a day care center. Family members are just hanging out with their kids, a kid is doing homework at one of the tables. Spanish music playing in the background, and Mexican TV channels on both tvs. How does this portray A MONGOLIAN restaurant!!! We are the only paying customers in here. I wonder why? Ughh. Never again

I really wanna give 5 stars if the place was nice n clean. but beside that, food totally 5 stars. Especially when u know how to cook also. Cz they let u put salt, soy sauce or spicy sauce like sriracha before you cook it, and that’s how u supposed to cook your food, not after u cooked it. Plus u still got wonton chips, egg drop soup, and sesame bread. Try to rip in half and put your noodles inside. Taste awesome!!! Highly recommended for quick cheap lunch, and all you can eat cheap dinner. For clean and hygienic freak, just stay away. You wouldn’t like this place. But their food not gonna kill you anw.

All you can eat dinner for $ 11.99 which also includes delicious fried wontons and egg drop soup. Can’t beat it. The extremely casual and simple ambiance is fine by me considering all I was focusing on was my giant plate of delicious food. Walk in, grab yourself a table, feel free to go up and start filling your bowl anytime you’d like. Good assortment of meats, tofu, veggies and sauces/oils to choose from. Wok N South has recently been renovated. Stoked to see some swanky new orange leather booths… but not gonna lie I’m definitely gonna miss the tiger mural on the walls and being able to stare at myself in the floor to ceiling mirrors as I eat a small child worth of Mongolian. This place remains my favorite. I love you Wok N South.

A really healthy lunch, especially if you go vegetarian. Fresh chopped veggies including carrots, broccoli, onions, parsley, cabbage, peppers, sprouts and mushrooms. Add in some nuts and sesame seeds(avoid the noodles) and voila! it’s a health food bonanza! The bar can get scuzzy if it’s crowded but I figure the smoking hot cooking surface takes care of that problem. I come weekly.

Confession — we have a favorite place for mongolian and this isn’t it! But for being close by here in Thousand Oaks this place is pretty good. Atmosphere is average, food is fresh, and cooked quickly. Good attentive wait staff kept the good iced tea topped off, overall a little above average. Bathroom needs some help, a little paint, new floor and fixtures needed — help yourself out — customers notice that kind of stuff.

We’ve been coming here for years and the food is only as good as the ingredients you choice. Unfortunately I always go back for seconds cause it’s so good. The looks of the facility makes you think twice, but Jose always takes great care of us!

I love this place. When I was in college, many moons ago, i used to come at least once a week with a handful of books, a big appetite and a tight budget. It was a great deal then and it is a great deal now. Since we moving out of the area 4 years ago I haven’t been able to come back. But today I had an appointment in Agoura Hills and decided the extra 10 minute drive was worth it. And boy was I right. I walked in and it felt like an old friend I hadn’t seen in a while. In fact there were old friends here I haven’t seen in a while the manager and the cook were the same for my college years. I was greeted with a big smile. This is an only reserved for familiar faces; they are very friendly and accommodating to all guests. I was handed a bowl and I loaded up my goodies I’m personally a fan of beef. But they have chicken and pork too. Plus loads of veggies. Now here comes the fun part the sauce, you make your own sauce based on a different sauces. You can make it a spicy or sweet is garlicky or seafood as you like. So when you read the reviews that say It wasn’t seasoned well that’s the reviewers own fault. After it was cooked on the hot grill I topped it off with sesame seeds and enjoyed. I’m almost tempted to make some more appointments out here so I can come back.

Wok N South looks like it was thrown together in a weekend by some college guys. «Hey, lets throw the BBQ grill right here by the front door. Let ‘em walk into the back room to find their basic tables and chairs. Ambiance? Who needs ambiance? Just throw some paint on the walls. It’ll be fine.» Ok. Maybe that’s a little harsh, as the place is functional, but make no mistake, WNS is no first date joint. Randy B.(one of the best Unilocaler’s around) has it pretty well down in his review, so I won’t pontificate. However, I will expand on one thing he mentioned that could propel WNS into a higher rating from me. What’s up with the frozen meat? If only they’d use good, fresh cuts of meat the place would be soooo much better. I don’t serve frozen meat at home. Why would I go out to get frozen meat? And like Melody R. suggests, the place is a little dirty. Meh. I struggled with giving WNS2 stars, but the ingredients, other than the meat, were fresh and good, and although the surroundings are indeed basic, the place is a decent lunch spot. So there you have it. 3 stars for Wok N South. Not a place I’d put in my rotation of great experiences, but certainly worthy in a pinch if you’re Jones’in for Mongolian BBQ.

This place is absolutely disgusting. I was with a friend and for some reason they liked this place. First off, bare bones selection. You could tell that there was cross contamination with every item. Second, the place was just dirty. I don’t know how the health department hasn’t shut this place down. Third, $ 13 for crap– seriously? Go anywhere but here.

This place offers a pretty good selection of vegetables and yummy-ness to add to your plate. Plenty of sides to start too :-). It’s all you can eat, allowing you to try a plethora of different varieties which I loved. 4 stars! I’m sure to return with the boyfriend and his family as he is a huge fan of this place.

First time here, very mellow atmosphere which is to be expected. Average sized crowd for a Monday lunch in chilly Southern California weather, let’s be honest if it’s under 65 most of us aren’t leaving for lunch lol. Anyways, the quality of the food was okay, definitely not terrible but IMO great khans at the mall is better. This place does come with some bread, wontons and soup for the same price.

Amazing and delicious. A two-room extravaganza, the first room has the Mongolian food and grill with limited seating, and the back room is for partying and a lot less smokey. The meats are frozen(normal), and all else is very fresh. While they don’t have any seafood, I like to have chicken and beef. I pile it high with mushrooms, broccoli, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, cilantro, and onions. I have them grill it well, eat it, and then start all over again. Beer and wine is served. Oooohh weeee! The people are extremely nice that work here, and I highly recommend this place.
