Merit Moving Systems

Merit Moving Systems did a terrific job on my long distance move. Thru no fault of the movers, my stuff had to be put in storage because my apartment was not ready. I have moved a lot of times, but have never had this happen! Merit took care of this smoothly. They found me a great company on the other end of my move, got me a fair price for the storage and delivery, and were VERY supportive and pleasant (even though I know I made extra work for them). At the beginning of the move, Eric, the driver and his associate were on time, careful and professional w/​my belongings. They wrapped up my stuff in blankets and shrink-​wrap, and everything arrived in perfect shape. I was so impressed and pleased with everyone at Merit, from beginning to end. And the price was right on point with other estimates. Kevin Pruitt, the Account Manger, was there for me every step of the way. I HIGHLY recommend!

5 STARS and EXCELLENT doesn’t even cover it. Moved cross country and had estimates from other companies that were lower, but would have been adjusted according to weight after loading. Merit came out, provided a FIRM written estimate and communication before, during and after was excellent.
Skip, the driver for United came out right on time in 120 degree weather with two local assistants and had us packed up in about 2 – 3 hours. Skip was driving the entire way (with no transfers), and contacted us several times during the trip.
Our move arrived one day early, and Skip had two outstanding local assistants that were very polite, courteous and respectful. Our new location had a heavy rainstorm, so the movers set up floor runners and staged the product in our garage and then took into the appropriate rooms. Once again, the unpacking only took several hours.
The rain stopped as Skip left, and our load came in under the estimate, so we will be receiving a small refund.
I don’t plan on moving again, but if I do, Merit will be the first company that I contact and would hope Skip would be the driver.

Spoke to Bill Young the General Manager today for about 15 seconds before he slammed the phone on me. Extremely rude. I would never do business with this company again.

Merit Moving Systems was engaged by my mother-​in-​law for a local (Thousand Palms, CA) move. Concerned in that Unilocal had no reviews for the company (as of June 2014), I advised her the decision was hers but to be cautious.
I must say the move went splendidly. The crew (David and John) arrived on-​time and were supplemented by two others. They were quite fast, courteous, took instruction well, and the move was accomplished both quicker than estimated and without any damage. AND the costs were less than the original estimate! Truly a job well done — thanks!
UPDATE: As an update to my original (07÷02÷14) review, this past weekend Merit Moving Systems also moved my mother-in-law’s best friend, Again, David and John showed up on time (on a very hot and humid day), did an excellent job, and charged less than the estimate. Another job well done!
